Haven't done a Rammstein reaction in a while now. Hopefully you guys dig it, but personally this was a weird one for me. Unlike any other song or music video from them IMO. Very serious throughout and a great example of brotherhood (unless you count Till not being attached to their line while rock climbing wtf lol) !

The director wanted to show he had died of internal injuries but wasn't sure how to do that..That is why they show his gangrene foot to indicate that's why he passed away after they reached the summit.

this song was made after the Mutter Album when they almost broke up. Rammstein is like a democracy every member is heard and all must agree before anything gets passed..when they began having problems they decided to go to counseling both as individuals and as a group..in an interview Richard said that Rammstein is like a marriage but without the sex..Ohne dich shows unity in the band and Richard said the most important thing is to stick together, everything else is irrelevant.
The song ist about the relationship between the band members of Rammstein and also can be seen as expressing mourning over the loss of a loved person. Rammstein wanted to break up one or the other time and that is why they had even therapy sessions. But they always decided to stay together. For Heitmann (film direktor of this video) , the emotional message in the video is very important; Ohne dich shows unity in the band. Richard said that the most important thing is to stick together, everything else is irrelevant.Therefore Rammstein is one of the few Bands that have managed to play in the same line up and with the same members for almost 30 years since they were founded.
One of their first videos that were super successfull in Germany, I remember seeing that at MTV and VIVA on high rotation.
Actually the lyrics are quite mysterious, as it says "Without you I am lonely, with you I am lonely too". And then he talks about going into the firs where he has seen her for the last time. But, how can you see someone for the last time in the midth of a forest? Only, if you leave her there. And try to recover her days later...when the birds are quiet....and your breath stops (perhaps because of the smell)...very mysterious.
Every rammtein music video tells a story just have to follow the story to find out what the song is about
Most people think it's about friendship or the band. Which is true to a certain extent.
But a fan asked Till what HE thought about when he wrote the lyrics. His respond was: it's about drug addiction or respectively drug withdrawal. So if you if you find the time to check out the lyrics and keeping Till's throughts on it. You'll see. 😉
