Absolutely beautiful scenery. It's hard to believe it's been nearly 45 years since I've been to Banff. It almost brings tears to my eyes wishing I had places that beautiful to ride near me.
How on earth do you allow 45 years to go by without going back? it's certainly changed in that time... As it's now the tourist booming town that takes cash from your pockets. But the scenery and fresh air is the same as always. Definitely worth a trip out!
A good portion of it was, and maybe still is? I want to say the first 20 or so KM's from Banff was closed off. Even with cars, its so quiet of an area, it's really not a huge concern with the wide shoulders and quiet traffic.
I know most of the route was closed to vehicles, but it doesn’t look like you saw any cyclists either on the ride out? Must have been like a Monday morning at 9am?
Such a great ride.
One of the best around... It's a nice mix of hills, steeps, and rolling terrain. Only if it has multiple diary queens on the route...

Nice ride. Is the entire route closed to vehicles?

It was an early morning... Maybe around 8am, but a weekend ride I think. I saw a few riders on the way out, but nothing like on the way back... TONS
