I've been sewing since I was a teenager and your instructions are very clear and I'm sure the novice can follow your directions and create a beautiful cap. Our daughter is about to receive treatment for breast cancer and what's to cover her long hair while having treatments so she can keep it covered and not have to wash her hair after her daily radiation treatments. We are praying she doesn't need chemo but it is what it is but she still would still be wearing a cap if she losses her hair. Thank you for your video, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you for you work as being a front line worker at one time. We have several nurses in our family and it is a job for the special people in our world who can care for the sick. God Bless. Wendy Montani
Wendy, thank you for taking the time to comment. I hate that your daughter has this battle. I prayerfully agree with you that she will not have to go thru chemo! God bless and protect our front line workers!
This was a great video for beginners! Now I’m not a beginner and have been sewing for 30 years (although not an expert by any means just a hobby) but my son asked me to make a mask and scrub cap for his mentor at the hospital where he does his residency and this was the type she wanted. I’m not big on downloadable patterns (old dog and all that) so I wanted to find one that had great instructions or a video and came across your pattern and tutorial. Now I should have looked when you mentioned there where other videos and this was your third because I could have gotten away without all the detail. But I wanted to compliment you on how well you did this video and how clear your instructions were! It’s been a long time since I first started sewing but boy would I have given anything to have had your video when I started! Just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful video hopefully my Cinderella cap and mask will be a success!
Hey!!! I am so glad you found my videos. Thank you for the compliment. All we had 30 years ago were paper pattern instructions and maybe a mom or sister to teach us. We have come a long way! I bet your Cinderella mask and cap will be great!
I had been using commercial patterns for the medical care providers in my family and their friends started asking for them too. One of the family friends doesn't like the bouffant style and wanted a ponytail scrub hat. So happy to find this. They are paying me to do this. I appreciate that it is OK for me to sell these.
Thank you! I may make these at some point in my life. I’m retired and I have been making drawstring backpacks and Santa Sacks for my local Christmas charity program. I’m really enjoying this. I’m not sure if there is a demand for scrub caps, but I might give it a shot. I'd also like to do some projects for the local Crisis Pregnancy Center. Then there is walker and wheelchair totes to make. I think that will keep me busy. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much for your tutorial! My daughter is a Covid ICU RN and so far I’ve made her 3 of your scrub caps!! Now I have other nurses wanting caps. Your tutorial was very informative and easy to follow. God bless you!
Thank you so much! I’m an ER nurse and I just completed your pattern. It looks and feels great! You have such great patience to explain with such detail. Blessings to you.
Thank you for being so gracious with your time and walking us through how to make these. I will be donating a few to the nurses and techs who cared for my father during his stay at the hospital- they all wore them. (And I will not sell the pattern) Take care and stay safe.
Stephanie, bless you for your generous heart to make some of these for your dad's caregivers. So thoughtful. I am glad you could use my pattern. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
Thank you so much for these videos and the pattern. Our daughter is a nurse with long hair and she has asked for a surgical cap with a pony tail pouch. She usually works out in the testing tent by their hospital when she's not working as a flight nurse. I'm so happy to be able to make something she can use. Homemade masks aren't good enough for what she's doing, but the surgical caps do pass muster where she is. Your instructions are clear and detailed and oh, so helpful. Thank you so much again!!!
I appreciate your detailed instructions to use novice sewers. I am an RN as well. I was ecstatic to find out that you are a retired nurse. However, you’re not retired . You’re continuing to serve , empower and develop others. Your angelic light continues to touch people all over the world. I’m excited to continue to learn and grow with you. Thank you for sharing your gift with us,
I am also a nurse and the hospital has allowed us to wear scrub caps for a bit now. My unit was also running low on surgical hats. So I started looking for videos and found this one. And with the Cricut in hand, I put my little inspirational quotes from the Bible, yes. It doesn’t hurt anyone to read a cap that says “faith hope and love” or “be strong and courageous”, etc. with all that said, I enjoyed watching your videos and made one for everyday I work so I use it as part of my uniform. Needles to say that I have made around 20 plus of these because people like them (I don’t sell them). My techs and great nurses who are at the frontlines can have a little bit of a personalized gift that has colors they love and feel a little special, specially dealing with all the madness that we deal with everyday. So YES TO SCRUB CAPS!
Meybelina!!! What a blessing! Actually a double blessing. You were able to provide caps for them plus scriptural encouragement. And not just to them but also to the patients or coworkers that the the message of faith and courage. GOOD JOB!!!
Someone did sell me the pattern and I had zero instructions THANK YOU THANK YOU For helping me ! I’m a beginner like one month into sewing beginner and I had no idea how to make a button hole 😟. And it did not explain the ribbon at all. Again this was amazing and thanks for going step by step for us newbies ❤️
Thanks for taking the time out to sew that button on because I would have it without the interface. It's been 20 years when I was a little young teenager learning how to sew. Thanks again!
The interface is just an extra support. You could just fold a small piece of fabric in place of the interfacing. I am glad you have started sewing again.
I just want to 😊 thank you for this detailed video.... I have been doing the regular surgical caps for my local nurses..... they have been asking for ponytail caps.... I am trying this one for them.. Thanks again
I appreciate this so much!!! Thank you thank you!!! I’m such a beginner and this is everything . I love that when I printed the pattern your message at the end was so kind . Thank you again. I’m so excited to try and make one. :)
Thank you so much for this video!! I have overly searched for videos that are easy to follow. And yours is absolutely the best!! Thank you for the pattern and perfect instructions 💖 I’m a beginner at sewing with a machine and you have made it very easy to follow your instructions
I like all your scrub cap videos and just subscribed to your channel! Future videos I would watch would be headbands for adults and children (cotton and knit), working with knits for beginners (simple clothes or other projects with knits), and home decor (pillow cases with zippers, how to use outdoor fabrics). Thank you!
So cool!!! Yes, it is the same machine. This has been a great machine!!! I hope you like the pattern. I am working on an online beginner's sewing class.
Interfacing is a stabilizer. It comes in several different weights. It is just to give some support behind the buttons and buttonholes. You could use a pice of ribbon. The other things that interfacing is used for is inside a collar, to give it body and help hold the shape. It is also used down the front of a blouse or man's shirt. Or the inside of cuffs. Walmart fabric department, Joanns, Hobby Lobby all have it. Ask for interfacing. It also comes in fusible or non-fusible.

For a beginner, I would have liked just the pattern that you have and not so much”be creative “, “use what you have”, you can use 3/8”, 1/2” or even 1”, “think outside the box”. I’m a novice and I need to stay in the box. There’s to much options or suggestions. You lost me.
I hope you used the speed up button!!! LOL! Oh and it says in the title "DETAILED". That was because in my first video my viewers said I went to fast! Can't please everyone, even though I try.
I made this video per the request of SEVERAL of my subscribers who wanted details. You don't have to watch it. And I sure hope that we are at the end of needing scrub caps. But thank you for your sweet comment!
@MIXED NUT CREATIONS Sells Seriously? We need them for healthcare workers who can’t get proper PPE. There are providers working with sick patients who can’t even get scrub caps at this time.. if you think doctors and nurses should work without masks or surgical caps, that is ridiculous.
Khloe, thanks for your input. I used to serve on our hospital foundation board and we had one nurse who was also on the board and she always wore a scrub cap and that was WAY before COVID.
As a nurse, our hospital told us, due to short supply, we need to provide our own scrub hats. Amazon was sold out and Etsy is crazy expensive. I so appreciate this tutorial ♥️

For a beginner, I would have liked just the pattern that you have and not so much”be creative “, “use what you have”, you can use 3/8”, 1/2” or even 1”, “think outside the box”. I’m a novice and I need to stay in the box.
There’s to much options or suggestions. You lost me.
I am so sorry that I lost you!!! Did you grab the pattern?
Yes...intro was to long. 🙃
I hope you used the speed up button!!! LOL! Oh and it says in the title "DETAILED". That was because in my first video my viewers said I went to fast! Can't please everyone, even though I try.
Why in the heck do we need a scrub cap? I’ve seen them everywhere. No more masks or scrub caps! Please!
I made this video per the request of SEVERAL of my subscribers who wanted details. You don't have to watch it. And I sure hope that we are at the end of needing scrub caps. But thank you for your sweet comment!
@MIXED NUT CREATIONS Sells
Seriously?
We have to wear them because we are around patients 💁🏻♀️
