I love the fact that Santa Cruz has avoided the e-enduro race scene and promotes their e-Mtb's like their trail and all mountain bikes as bikes built for having fun. And Hannah crushed this video.
Not sad at all, just acknowledgment of that there is a time and place for the 4-bar. Specialized knew it and protected it to the death of the patent. VPP is rad for analog, as is a Horst link 4-bar. Strap a power adder on and chasing the dragon for optimal up/down suspension becomes more muted. MX gave up the wild engineering variants back in the 70's-80's.
Ok, that is a weird comment 😄. why exactly does VPP look more expensive? There are always reasons to be skeptical of large brands like SC, but you have to aknowledge the move away from their heritage-system for something that works better for the given circumstances?
Wow...I did a quick scan of the comments and a lot of negativity in this room. I'm not an ebike owner and won't be anytime soon (but do own a V4 Bronson) but thought the video was well done and appreciate both the walkthrough (thought she did a great job) and SCs willingness to step outside thier own box with a different linkage. The reviewers out in the youtubeverse will give this thing a go and we'll all learn more about how it rides I'm sure.
they tell you vpp is the shit for over 20 years and now they switch it just to get a bosch power unit to work... a few months before the marketing woman told us why they use vpp for over 20 years and they wont change it because its the best. they are "trying so many new things but the vpp is the best" and thats why they use it. i dont know, i dont like the way it goes
Love the bike, but will you be implementing the new Dji system in some of your bikes soon? Looking to purchase an e-bike but the new dji system seems to beat all the others in weight, power and size…
All these people complaining about the 4bar. If Santa Cruz could have used VPP they would have, instead they decided to go with one of the best and most reliable motors to date because quality and Santa Cruz mean the same thing. Guaranteed they will have made the 4bar suspension ride as close to VPP as they can. I agree I much prefer the aesthetic of how the VPP bikes look but I think this bike still screams Santa Cruz
Sorry but vpp was santa cruz. Its one of reasons why people wants try SC. Now you can buy Orbea, Trek, Cube and more other brands with 4bar link looks almoust the same.
My first Santa Cruz had a single pivot suspension design, which was awesome. I rode that bike for 13 years. Then I rode a VPP Tallboy for years. Now I have both a VPP Santa Cruz Hightower and.a Single Pivot Blur. And now they have released an e-mtb with a four bar design. They've all be awesome bikes.
so are there plans to adapt the new 4 bar to the Nomad/bullit and your other bikes? I'm waiting on a 2025 Nomad frame I ordered that arrive at the end of the month... should I have waited another year?? I'm sure I'll love the 2025, I'm currently on a mulleted 2016 Nomad and it still rides like a dream. PS, How about an V10/ E10 with a dropper post?? I don't care if it's close to 60pds like an old DH bike lol
Nope, VPP will remain on pedal bikes like the Nomad, just like Superlight is used on theBlur XC bike. Different platforms for different uses. Check out our Suspension page for more info: www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-US/tech/suspension
@@santacruzbicycles2841 Right on, I am sure I will be more than impressed with my new frame when it gets here. I still can't believe how well my 2016 rides, I just climbed to the tippy top of Cumberland BC trails yesterday, 575m/1850ft in 1 hr 20 mins 😁 and then some crazy DH tech on the way down. I look forward to comparing the new frame on the same loop
@@Schnabulation Completely different design goals. The full power motor format has limited space to get VPP pivots exactly where we need them for best suspension kinematics and ride quality. Its all good, I will continue to ride my MegatowerV2 until the wheels fall off and on the “gravity days off” I will continue to reach for the ‘24 Orbea Wild Mteam that i scored for 7k. Wooooo 👍👍🇺🇸
If it were Subaru, the impact would be about the same as giving up 4-wheel drive.I hope that big decision is not just for the sake of motors and profit margins.

You know what open-mould means, right? If so, what led you to believe this is open-mould. Made in the same factory (our factory) that all our other bikes are. It might look alike other things but when you have the same team that agonize over the engineering, design, prototyping, testing, and assembly that have made all the other Santa Cruz bikes then you should have more faith.
@@santacruzbicycles2841 absolutely aware what open mould means. What I rode was marked with a “?”. That means it was question. But as you mention it looks like many other frames out there, so the question was very legit. Pushing $10K for a C frame is a huge turnoff. Ditch the two tiered carbon nonsense already.

It is not a sad day for me, i prefer the four bar. The VPP kept me from buying a Santa Cruz in the past, I don't like pedal kick on the DH.
I thought the same until I tried one, then purchased one. It’s simply better while still feeling like a SC.
Wowww Nice bike!🎉 But this makes TREK and GIANT come to mind. 😮
Trek yes but nothing like a real Giant with the maestro suspension system

The Santa CUBE, nice!

No point buying anything with
I have a Hekler so I don't need one. But I do really want one.
So despite a 25% smaller battery it is *2kg* heavier (top spec build) than the Amflow. Keen to see how much more expensive it will be as well.
What is am flow ? Your morning period ?
The Amflow is specced very differently, with lighter duty components overall. This one is specced for no-limits mountain bike riding.
The purion 400 can be installed on the vala?
Not sure what to make of it. The Hightower just became almost identical to my Stumpjumper Evo, now SC has a 4 bar too.
What’s with the big shiny Link in the commercial bike?
Looks just like a Fuel Exe.
should I sell my 2O22 Bullit already?
Don’t you dare 😂❤
Buy 2024 Bullit 😂
False.. just buy another bike.
