Thanks. Just got a BMPCC 4K and love the false color. Also have an Aputure field monitor with false color and really getting into how much easier it is that histogram or just zebras. NOW...false color in DR. How cool is that. Just purchase using your discount code and off to using on my latest project.
i don't get the purpose of it for grading. for analyzing reference screenshots before shooting. to match contrast ration maybe? but that another monitor option! is that another plugin, or what?
I don't see the benefit of this. My Flanders Scientific Grading monitor has a false color option built-in and I never ever use it during grading. I used it once as a test in comparison to my scopes and felt it slowed me down. False colors definitely has it's place but it's on set, not in post in my opinion. Now if you use resolve for live-grading during the shoot, then yeah that plugin makes sense.
You make a good point but I think it would benefit DP's who also play with grading, false color is more intuitive compared to the waveform. If you shot with the intention for skin to be at 60IRE on the shoot, you can make sure it stays that way in post in a more visual way compared to the WFM.
Anyone have a plugin that works like this for Luminance Waveform? Would be awesome to be able to overlay waveforms and scale them onto the video for comparisons.
Theo - thanks for another great video. Question: at timecode 5:57, you appear to have four displays/monitors set up, and I only know how to get two displays, and one monitor. Can you explain what we are seeing? Thanks!
Sure! Top is the reference from my decklink. Left is false color, middle is my main GUI and right is the second GUI (from the dual screen layout option in resolve). Hope this helps! -Theo
Good catch! Both my main GUI monitor and my big refrence monitor support hardware LUTs, so they the calibration is loaded in the display. (BenQ SW3200 and LG C8) -Theo
Awesome! I've been waiting for a sale to buy- just pulled the trigger!
you make me more and more confident with resolve evry video I watch, A true Pro in a sea of amateurs. Thanks for all you do Theo

Oh that looks useful to me indeed..... unfortunately did not see a version for Resolve.
I came across this video and loved it, seemed to be fairly recent. I then purchased the bundle that included everything and NOTHING works.

@Anillusion I completely agree with you.

IF THE FILM SHOT IN LOG HOW CAN I GET TO KNOW THE REAL COLOR (LIGHTS) OF THE FOOTAGE?
Haha, nice workplace! Did you make a wooden diffuse audio panel yourself?)
Thanks! And yes! Isn't a DIY skyline diffuser a right of passage for audio professionals? haha!

I noticed that you dont have a display LUT selected in the settings. Can you share how your displays were calibrated for Resolve?

@@Miesnermedia Thank you! Didnt know that the TV supports 3D LUTs.
You have to use Calman, but then it will generate a 33 point 3d lut for you that works really well.
can you make a tutorial how to color grade canon 550d footage to be a very great color? thanks
Hi I have tried to use your code but nothing happen. Is that the code expired?
by the way thanks for the good video
If you just need false color LUTs, you can check out the experimental tool I created a while ago, it's free: colorizer.net/index.php?op=false_colors
In future, tutorials for davinci resolve will be most watched just keep making awesome tutorials you'll get enough views sooner
I guess I am pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch new movies online ?

hi, what grading monitor do you use?
what is this good for?
Top!
Yeah, unfortunately, I think the plugin became quickly outdated as it doesn't work with MacOS Catalina.
First!!!

Why do you sound like Andrew Kramer? “today in this very exciting turtorial…” You can do better. Be yourself. Don't try to be him.
