Hello! I am confused about the 4th step. do we give raw cheese? Is this tolerated better than baked cheese? At other milk ladders the equivalent step is lasagna or shepherds pie so the cheese is baked. Thank you!

Hi, the iMap guideline was updated in 2019, and you might have seen previous versions of the Milk Ladder which as 12 steps (as opposed to the latest one, which has 6 steps).
Step 4 mentions: Cheese - amount 15g (hard cheese e.g. cheddar or parmesan). Once your child tolerates cheese, you can introduce 15g baked cheese on a pizza or baked on other food as well.
Hard cheese is less allergenic due to the way it is made. Hence, it is advisable to introduce hard cheese and not soft cheese. After hard cheese is tolerated, you can introduce 15g of baked cheese (including both hard and soft cheese).
Soft cheese will then be introduced fully in Step 6.

@@nutribytes2532 Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I am just wondering why it is raw cheese introduced first instead of baked cheese. Normally I see cheese first introduced in form of lasagna or pizza instead of unbaked/raw cheese.
