LMFAOOOO your reaction at 2:05 when you realized!! 💀💀 I'm on the FLOOR. AHAHAHAHA PLSS!!! 🤣🤣🤣 LOLOLOLOL
Yo but seriously lol, I learned from a Japanese reactor that this whole mv is playing out a famous Japanese folktale about a half-snake lady (kinda like Medusa for us! lol). Love how Meg isn't afraid to bring a little bit of Japan to the U.S. & I've seen so much culture exchange online over this track. I love to see it and lmao had to subscribe because this reaction is too hilarious man.

Yup, The whole thing is a reference to a Japanese legend/folklore of a snake creature that has the body of a snake and the head of a woman (nure-onna) that can tranform and devours men/people. Even the name of the song "mamushi" is a Japanese viper

Mamushi means a Japanese viper snake so that is what the meaning is of course you’re going to see the snake all through the thing

The whole thing is a reference to a Japanese legend/folklore of a snake creature that has the body of a snake and the head of a woman (nure-onna) that can tranform and devours men/people. Even the name of the song "mamushi" is a Japanese viper. In the legend the creature sometimes would break apart the body of who she killed and distribute the parts to the different spirits that helped her. In the MV i believe shes using the souls of the people she killed to make an army
The blue people are a reference to that as well as to the 1990 Japanese film dream by akira kurosawa
