Video’s been around for a while but still very helpful. Lucky son was just given a Seasprite 350 from his uncle and we are looking at doing similar. Was curious about how much gap is at the front of the deck for getting the anchor out? The 399 is potentially different and visually looks pretty tight on the 350…
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing cheers mate, and thanks for the inspiration. Ended up cutting a hatch for the front which definitely helps with the anchor and storage too. Probably would varnish the ply before carpeting if I was doing again. Came up a treat.
Great video mate, thought I’d mention Ali lengths are a lot cheaper at Ali suppliers in industrial estates then Bunnings (almost half price) they usually sell 6m lengths for cheaper than a 3m length from Bunnings
Jeff Louis yep the motor will charge the cranking battery but the electric runs off a second deep cycle. The electric will often run for hours with the 30hp merc off.
Absolute ripper vid. Short yet concise. This exactly how I’m going to build the cast deck for my new Stacer 399 proline. Cheers.
Pretty bloody good, me and my son plan on using your deck to make ours.
3 years on. Still working very well

Comes out easy enough. That said I really don’t use it often. I use the electric

ryan mccarrick thanks. Wish I had known that sooner.
And the aluminium from Bunnings isn't marine grade unlike those you can get from aluminium suppliers.
Thanks for watching, If you have any questions, fire away.
Turned out very well! Roughly how much $ for the build?
Between 3 and 4 hundred.
How much did the whole thing set you back all together?
Not a clue. Too long ago for my old memory
Hi mate what type of battery charger do you use thanks
Just an old one. No idea the brand. Thinking I got it from super cheap years ago.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing ok thanks
You mentioned a charger. In with the battery. What is it's function ? Doesn't your motor charge the battery?
Jeff Louis yep the motor will charge the cranking battery but the electric runs off a second deep cycle. The electric will often run for hours with the 30hp merc off.
Hey mate, great vid very informative.
Did you secure ply around hatch? If so what did you use to secure ply?
Currently in the process of building mine
Thinking there are about 6 screws securing the panels
Hey mate. Whats the charger you are using for the battery?
From Supercheap. Multiple amp input settings. From 2amps up to 8 amps. Can’t recall the brand. Will check when I get home tomorrow.
Hey mate what type of cutting disc you use to cut aluminium angle?
The grinder is an Ozito and the disc’s are the cheap ones from Bunnings.
Hi Wayne, job well done. What would be the cost in materials to do something similar? Cheers
Chris Bradbury about $320.
wouldnt of put the battery that low if your at speed and theres some water in the rear when u stop the battery will get wet
No issues with it yet.
Mate great video I’m about to start same on mine, can I ask what did you use to secure the timber please?
Just screwed.
