Enjoyed that one albeit sad to see the encroachment of the holiday park on the old hangar site but it had been planned for years ..... pleased I got to wander before it arrived. The control tower is a very special site and deserves to be protected/listed but its too late now. You won't get permission to visit because it really is unsafe now and I doubt it will stand for too much longer as the landowner must be very tempted to level it to avoid accidents involving those who find their way over to it.
King's Cliffe airfield is owned by Martin George of Whitworths milling. He's worth hundreds of millions. It's been rented out to a local farmer who has a lifetime rental contract for the last 50 years. In the 80's they were negotiating to pay the farmer out of his contract so they could develop the buildings and build a village up there. Unfortunately, the deal fell through as Martin George saw farming was going through a hard time and he thought the farmer would go bankrupt and he would get the land back for nothing. Fortunately for the farmer he held on and greed didn't prevail.
Flew over this redundant airfield in a historic light aircraft in 2021 and 2022. Traces if this former airfield are disappearing under modern development.

Thank you for posting this! Is it possible to get a 360 of the control tower? Or, inside the control tower? Well done!

Nice one Graham. Did you have your drone up today, up from Asda?
I can do a 360 but unfortunately the tower is out of bounds for whatever reason.....
Probably cos it was being used for prostitution, at least it was 5 years ago when the medium Steven Huff visited it
