a lil but of temperature mechanics of rimworld here for ya
i know you usually do workshop modded runs
but having a i single tile for that cooler to dumb its heat is not too good of an idea
heat and cold seeps out if the walls are a single tile
its better insulation if you use double layered walls
counts for doors as well
imagine it as literally double layering it for insulationm like how we wear clothing
it doesnt matter if you have more than 1 tile between the walls or huge gaps, just 2 walls seperating the colder part of your base from the extreme temps.
so having that single tile dumbed all that heat into is bad for more than one reason
for 1, that cooler counts as a single tile wall, it doesnt have too good insulation.
2, that heat is going to seep from there and seep into other places that you walled off from
3, a single unroofed tile cant vent heat fast enough that a single cooler produces so you need at minimum 3 tiles unroofed, but enclosed to reliable vent the heat produces from it
its jank a bit but hope this helps
if you struggle in extreme temps outside, double layer. 3 tiles at minimum for cooling rates in that unroofed enclosed place, (3 tiles can support more than one cooler) and
and one last thing, if you ever do a cryogenic winter where you add the permanent vulcanic winter and cold snap, just so you know those burner gens make a tiny amount of heat, able to barely heat an insulated, 6 tile indoors room
I was expecting another "Ice sheat survival" but man this is so much better and fun.
Ice sheat is harder just saying you can randomly die at anypoint from solar flares and you cant do anything about it for a long time
allso the heat of where he lives will never be a problem bc he can just grow fungi that stop it.
hmmmm... I'm pretty sure the generator puts off heat you are trying to cool?

Hey, if you do intend to play rimworld with mods, maybe you could try Combat Extended? It is wery foking imbalanced in some places, but ultimately, it's a truly unique experience.
Also, who doesn't like to shred some tribals with buckshot? It's a great relaxation, i recommend that experience to everyone!
