That's my hometown .Born and raised in Westminster, CA When I got my drivers lic many years ago in the 70's. I spent a lot of money at that same Pep Boys. Some good times growing up in Westminster.
Adam, many of the l Hotdog Stands in Chicago put fries in with the dog. The first place per Vienna was in River Grove, IL at Gene and Jude's. My childhood Hotdog stand.
Adam, you should try this food market place called Rodeo 39. It’s on Beach Blvd too, but going to opposite direction of the 405 fwy. Really close to this place. There are many food options there and a great place for photos. I think you would dig it.
I couldn’t stop smiling throughout this whole video! If it wasn’t the masking tape, the reference to the location, or the facade of the building, it was the comments about the Vienna dog. As a graphic artist, I always tell businesses that your sign, and building is key to getting people to come in. That’s why this building gets you there! The building and that gangsta logo…too cool! Happy hot dog month!
Hahah nice!! I especially like it when an “old school” restaurant hand paints or draws their food in a cartoony way on the main menu. Then you know the foods going to be good haha
That "snap" you mention comes from the fact that those weiners have a natural casing not an artificial casing. Natural casings are made from either sheep or hog intestines. Most sausages have natural casings. I've made plenty of sausages. Adam keep those videos coming. You're the best.
There is no artificial casing, all hot dogs start in a casing when made, since some dont like the casing they remove it after its made for a regular dog.
🌭 Just after watching video this morning I said to my hubby “Let’s go try this place out” - and so we did.😃🌭 I tried the Chicago dog🌭w / everything except no chili peppers in it and what we ordered 👍🏻😃was pretty good😋🌭Thanks for taking us along Adam!🌭🥰
Did the Chicago Dogs have the required shake of celery salt? It's not authentic without it! I didn't hear it mentioned in the video. Otherwise great show (I am so sick to death of Disneyland! But I do have a season pass to Knott!'s!) Enjoying the variety of subjects...
@@jimschauer37 ahh yess. Celery salt is a must along with the poppy seed bun. I always judge a Chicago dog too by the quality of their pickle too. If it’s a light and fresh crisp polish style pickle it’s a go. If it’s a soggy dark green thing it’s a nay haha and the relish must be “neon green”👍

I wasn't hungry when I started watching this, now I'm grilling up a cheese smoky.
I frequent the Asian grocery store across the street, and have always wondered “are those hot dogs any good?” 🌭 (Kinda like the other hot dog stand on Chapman Ave in Orange) I wonder no longer. Chili cheese fries looks like happiness for your guts. Thanks for a fun food adventure!
Next time you are here or at Portillo’s definitely try an Italian Beef dipped and hot. (Means dipped in gravy with hot giardinera peppers. If you don’t like it messy you can have the gravy on the side but it’s a definite bonus. Looking forward to seeing that video!
🔥Adam, you should do a little history digging on this place...it looks like a few Kodak1 Hr. photo islands put together with some newer roofs and years of additions?
Joe Deck At one time there was a Der Wiener Shinztle on Golden West street in Westminster. CA. I don't live there anymore so I don't know if it's still there or not.
Yum! those dogs looked delicious! and the snap when you bite into them; you know it's gonna be good! Maybe check out a few valley locations- larry's chili dogs, chili john's (both in Burbank) and cupids hot dogs (s.f. valley). Great seeing you and Brickey hanging out together too!!
Outside of Portillos, most true Chicago hot dog stands include fries wrapped with their hot dogs. Check out Gene and Judes. And the fries should be fresh cut to be legit.
Yeah but the majority of hot dog joints in Chicago don’t serve them “depression dog” style. Which makes em unique , although there’s a few imitators out there. I guess you can include Superdawgs in that category too since they stuff their fries inside the box with the dog.
My favorite all time hotdog in my life was from Howard Johnsons. They toasted the buns and served the hotdogs in a paper sleeve. A close second is a dog I got at a baseball game at Fenway Park. When you get back to Florida you will have to try Arbetter's Hotdogs in Merritt Island. My husband swears they have the best chili dogs anywhere. I am not a fan of chili on my dog because I have a thing about soggy bread, but the dog was good.
Adam, great adventure today my friend.Cheers!!!! 👍👍😃Im eating 2 hotdogs with chilli from a local hotdog place called Mikes Hotdogs in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. There hotdogs with chilli are the best! Happy Hotdog day Mr. Woo !!!😃😃😃👍✌❤
That’ gangster weiner mascot IS pretty darn cool I have to say. I wish we had one of those around where I live and I’m from Chicago haha I’m the same way , if I see an old school looking dawg house like that anywhere I’m pulling over, especially with the Vienna logos lol. And btw the fries in the hotdog thing is also an old school Chicago staple stemming from the “depression dog” style where it’s just mustard, relish and a heap of hot fries on top of your dog. Gene and Judes here in Chicago are famous for those and you can get em 2 for 1 👍😎
Nice! I’m visiting San Diego from Florida right now and we already ate at a Wienerschnitzel and a Hot Dog on a Stick lol This place looks even better. “Starbuck” killed me.
We order American Coney Island hot dogs. From Detroit Michigan. Yum big time! They come with their homemade chili ,onion ,….buns and the works! They come packaged very securely….
I used to go to a Chicago style hot-dog place in LaCrosse, Wi, called Beef, etc., many years ago and they too would include fries wrapped up w/the hot dog too. The place was run by a family from Chicago so I think that may be a traditional Chicago presentation.
There’s two places in my hood with Chicago dogs. Mustards in Los Alamitos, and Joe Schmoes in Cypress. Never been to Mustards but frequent Joe Schmoes. Haven’t seen tried the Joe Schmoes Chicago dog either, but their other food is awesome.
The Best Hot Dog for the $ is the Cosco Dog !!.....However, Chicago Dogs are Great !.....The Best ones are "Super Dogs" outside of Chicago ( north).....Glad to see you are back in Socal.....Really Good Video !...
I love how it says “located in the Pep Boys parking lot” on the truck lol
Genius ! Adds to the appeal of this place
Sounds a little weird, Hotdogs in the parking lot ,Pep Boys ,everything but ass !
Manny, Moe, and Just Hot Dogs... Lol
“I don’t wanna drive it, I just want my old car back.” -Clark W. Griswald. The hot dog feast looked delectable, Adam. Great video. Good Times.
"I'm not one of those people." Another, nearly-spit-a-mouthful-of-beverage-out-due-to-laughter moment for yours truly.
hahahahahahahahaha

It really feels wild whenever you visit places like 7 minutes away from me. I always pass by this hotdog stand but have never tried it!
Worth a stop . A dang good chicago dog

Yess!! The original depression dogs! Love em👍❤️
I love when Brickey’s in your videos :)
He’s a good guy
Being in a punk band I can confirm duct tape is indeed a member of the band.
You’re safe Adam. July is National Hot Dog Month.
Can't beat Ted's in my hometown of Buffalo, NY ! I always go there when I go back for a visit....,loved the shout out !
I am Canadian have never been there when I have been in Buffalo but I heard Teds is delicious!

@@HeyBrickey do you get to Lockport NY? They have Reid's. Miss that place. Also miss pizza from New York.

Never had Vienna, but Nathan’s is pretty DANG good.

There is no artificial casing, all hot dogs start in a casing when made, since some dont like the casing they remove it after its made for a regular dog.
Yes you are correct, however the casings that are removed are artificial not natural. Thanks for explaining that.

Hi Adam, In Chicago a lot of the Hotdog stands include the Fries wrapped up with the Dog. Keep up the Great Videos!
Watching my fellow beard'Os eating hotdogs makes me happy! Long live the beard'Os!!!
That petunia is a Lily of the Nile.
The sad part is you don't get to ride the lifts in the Pep Boys.
My old neighborhood! And major props. You said Westminster correctly with three syllables!
Loving the Bricky and The Woo combo.
Let's face it, everyday should be National Hot Dog Day ...
Nathan's all beef are my favourite hot dogs; possibly due to the spices, or that I'm an east-coaster at heart.
Great to see another Brickey episode! He is so much fun 🙌🏼
Great video! The building looks like an old Fotomat ! Here in NJ , the best hot dogs are at Rutt’s Hut!
Heck it! Now I’m hungry.

Gene & Judes best "dogs" in the country !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam, years ago when you'd order a hot dog in Chicago they would add fries in the same pack. They stopped doing it at most establishments now.
