You are so adorable. In my 70 years I have waterbath canned a few Ball Blue books!! It wasn't until things started going sideways that I started pressure canning 2 years ago. So I will be canning these, but in a mix of beans..because I'm a calico gal. Can't wait!! My hubs was Italian. We loved canning tomatoes for sauces. I was widowed in my 50's. But now my grands love to watch what is happening in the kitchen. My heart smiles seeing so many young people appreciating this art. I hope I can inspire them.
Great instructional video. I like that it’s to the point as well. I don’t mind chit chat but when I watch an instructional video it I’m usually needing advice quickly. Also, I just finished making this recipe and it is fantastic! Thank you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Carol, been canning for almost 50 years, but never thought of making baked beans. Excited to try. There is one thing I would like to bring to your attention, and that is the use of metal tools inside your jars..ie..lifting them out with metal tongs and your suggestion of using butter knife to release bubbles. It has been proven through a court case in FL that metal utensils can weaken or jeopardize the integrity of glass processed under pressure. In court case, jars that were processed with metal tools touching the inside of the jar actually exploded when removed from canner, even after cooling. Just thought you might want to investigate, esp since most of your followers are probably inexperienced canners. There is a reason the commercial bubble remover tool is plastic. Hope this info will help in making sure the information you're passing along will insure people have accurate info when canning. Sincerely, Totsie Martin, Coalville, Utah 1/2023
This the first time I have commented on any You Tube video, but yesterday, my husband and I canned up our second batch of your Better than Bush's baked beans. I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you sharing that recipe with us. You are right. They are better than Bush's or anyone else that we have tried. Your Bourbon Chicken is next on our list to can. We both love Bourbon Chicken and look forward to trying your recipe. We have watched a number of your videos and appreciate the safety first attitude you display. Please continue with your recipes. Looking forward especially the new fermenting and dehydrator recipes you plan to share with us. Great job!
BUSH BEANS ABSOLUTELY SUCK. YOU CAN BUY VAN CAMP'S PORK AND BEANS AT SAVE-A-LOT FOR ABOUT 75 CENTS. I USE TWO CANS OF VAN CAMP'S P&B, ONE LARGE ONION FINE CHOPPED WITH ABOUT A HALF CUP OF BROWN SUGAR AND SIMMER FOR A WHILE. I DON'T LIKE RUNNY BAKED BEANS, SO AFTER OPENING THE CANS I ALWAYS DUMP THE MAJORITY OF THE CLEAR LIQUID INTO THE SINK AND RINSE IT DOWN THE DRAIN. SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO ADD CHOPPED SWEET PEPPERS TO THE MIX, WHICH I DON'T CARE FOR MYSELF. JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY WHO HAVE TRIED THESE BAKED BEANS SAY THESE ARE THE BEST THEY HAVE EVER HAD. I THINK SO TOO. YOU CAN ADD MORE BROWN SUGAR OR OTHER SEASONINGS TO TASTE. HOWEVER I FIND IT ISN'T NECESSARY TO ADD ANY OTHER SEASONINGS, AS THIS RECIPE IS ABSOLUTELY KILLER THE WAY IT IS! NEVER EVER ADD CATSUP TO THE BEANS, THIS IS A FELONY CRIME. JUST TRY THIS RECIPE AND YOU WILL LOVE IT!
This was s great video. I made this and it wad great. I am used to eating Van Kamps pork and beans, and these were so much better AND because the beans only cost $1.00, and the fact that I got 8 jars brought that cost pet jar to be around .15 cents.. I already had all the other ingredients the house including jars. that's my new math lol. I love it....Thanks Carol!!!
I made these today. The sauce tasted really good. Can't wait to really try them. I've seen people say to not open and use for at least a week. What do you think?
Tip: Don't lose the last of the molasses in your bottle and/or measuring cup. Add some of your tomato juice to them and shake the bottle or stir the measuring cup and add to your recipe. Works with whatever liquid you are using in any molasses recipe. It also works for "ALL" syrups, honey, etc. If you are a "hillbilly kid" like I am... then you might have had a mom who added about a 1/4 cup of warm water to the molasses bottle and shook it. She then drank a sip of it every day. She said it was the best way on a homestead/farm to get the iron that your body needed every day. If you aren't cooking with molasses on a regular basis but want to keep some "sips" of molasses for iron in your frig then simply mix 1 Tablespoon or more to 1 cup of warm water. Make large batches and water bath can if you wish... process for 30 minutes at the boil point in the canner.
Yup! My son’s grandmother would milk their cow and make “tigers milk” for him. A spoon dipped in molasses and swirled around in milk is better than a milkshake!
Made a couple batches in the spring and it is time to make three more batches for our winter pantry. The children have loved them! The goal this week is to fill our soup and easy meal canned pantry. One recipe a day and by the end of the week we would have a full pantry😁. Thank you for all of your recipes!
Good video and I agree with the other posters it is nice to watch a video that gets to the point and doesn't have a long intro. I want to watch the videos but I am a busy woman and don't have time for the chit chat or fancy intros. Thank you do very much. I will be making this in the future!
I just got my American canner, waited 5 months for it "backordered". I just made your "better then bushes baked beans". They are the best I'va ever had, love the sauce. I got 14 pint size jars. I'm making your Cajun Red Beans tomorrow. Thanks you for putting out such through and trust worthy recipes . Love your videos.
Made these about a week ago with Great Northern Beans. I opened a pint tonight and we loved them. I made them into pints because it's just two of us, but will be making more in quarts for when we have a bigger family get together.
Suzie I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe! We became empty nesters in August when our youngest left for college so I understand cooking for two.😊 I’m having to make a lot of adjustments so we don’t eat the same thing for days 😂. Thanks for watching ~Carol
I really like the ingredients in your recipe. Would like to can these. Lots going on right now but am going to copy your recipe. Would can both qts, and pts. Not at the same time. I have done lots of canning, I am 84. I am a new subscriber. Grandma Sue in central Indiana and Izzi Too
I've made these beans and they are every bit of delicious as she says. They are a definite staple in my pantry. I thank you very much for sharing this, wonderfull recipe. ❤ Art
I Just found your channel today while searching for ways to can my Louisiana red beans without a pressure cooker. I had to laugh out loud how your puppy attempted to steal the show and you kept a perfectly calm face and kept your cool the whole time... It was great!! I am just now learning how to can stuff, started with Chokecherry Jam last month, which turned into syrup.... Well after watching several of your videos, I realized that that is not possible and now I know why. AND, I just found your video canning pretty much the same recipe I cooked today. I don't have a pressure cooker and, truthfully, am kind of afraid of them, but I will do more research on them and how to use safely. I have learned quite a bit from your videos today, others really did not explain in terms I understood, but you did. Thanks for the tutorials! Great Job!!!
I bet you could cook up a bunch, and freeze them. Provided you ate them quickly. They might break apart a bit from being frozen. If you jar them up and freeze them I think you have to leave more head space as they might expand from being frozen. I think they sell mason type jars that are designed for freezer use, or at least they used to, they may be a tad thicker. I've also read were people keep their freezer mason jars separate from their boil - heated mason jars. I don't think it matters, but they say a freezer jar, may be more prone to crack in the heat. Who knows, it is worth a try. I know plenty of prepackaged frozen food comes with beans as part of the ingredients adn to me once they are heated the beans taste just fine.
This is an excellent video to show how to use a pressure canner. The problem I have is regulating the heat so the weight juggles three times a minute. I’ve wanted to can baked beans for a long time. Thank you for your video
Carol, I love my homemade baked beans. Admittedly, we never tried Bush's. Ever. But this was one of our first pressure canning recipes, and it is amazing! Thanks for this video and recipe!
ok I made them today. First time ever pressure canning. 70 yrs it took me lol BUT I used a Carey Pressure canner. OMG they are so good. The only thing different was that I added some Worcestershire sauce & garlic powder. THE BEST EVER!!! No more Sam's club beans for us, I love them and I swear these taste just like them. Next time I smoke a pork butt I will can more beans with some of the pork in there. Thanks Carol! I have about a dozen more of your recipes to try.
Thank you! You are the first person who has said 3/4 full, most people are saying for pints 1/2 cup, and I have a bunch of jars with a bit of beans swimming in sauce, I've eaten some but it's a waste, I'm using your method!
This morning was overcast after last nights rain, seemed a good day to PC. So, grabbed my beans and did 7 quarts of your Mex beans for refried bean and 7 quarts of these baked beans. Omigoodness - both are SO SO easy to put together and the sauce for the baked beans is addictive. The flavor is awesome - I can't wait to taste the final product but both batches are in the PC's right now. It ended up warming up to 70* outside and my house rather feels like a sauna, I'm not gonna lie. But still, what an easy task and both types of beans will be a perfect addition to my pantry. Thanks for 2 great, simple recipes!
I remember as a teenager, my sister was a cook at a Mexican restaurant. She used to cook up like 2 gallons of refried beans at a time. Cook the beans, run them through the meat grinder, cook them slowly with lots and lots of lard - bacon grease, and stir, stir, stir. I'm not sure how healthy they were, since it seemed they were 50 % bacon grease, or so it seemed, but they sure did taste good.
I made this recipe and had about 17 pints. There are only 2 of us so... I made these not to long ago about a month and a half... I have to make more because he has eaten almost all of them. I think I have 2 left!!! He said don't lose that recipe! Thank you so much they are easy and wonderful!!!
Hi Carol...I made these today and I can't thank you enough for this recipe, your clear instructions and your channel in general. Its so nice to be able to preserve food like this for future use.Im going to make your beef soup next and can that..I just find it so much fun and I'm doing something great for my family at the same time.
Made these today cut the sugar in half for hubby, still tasted great but my spin is adding 1/4 cup of steak sauce for tang. Bringing canned up to pressure right now but will let you know how they turn out. 👍
Made thise last year and they are gone. Getting ready to do another 25 pounds this week for the winter. Great instructions and you make it feel comfortable to do. Thank you!
I'm an experienced canner and can't wait to try this recipe! Thanks! I might make with pintos, who knows, but loved the idea of the liquid smoke! THANKS and I subscribed! Oh, and I have a 930 All American so I can do 19 pints at a time. Can't wait!
vmdude1 wow! You are a serious canner! That is awesome! This recipe is delish with any bean really and I’ve been known to even do a combo of beans 😉. I LOVE my All American canner and canning in general. Lol. Enjoy!
@@markfults1693 I did mine with Navy beans because I couldn't find an answer. They turned out really good but I did have to make extra sauce and you have to work fast once your beans are ready and drained. By the time I got near the bottom of the pot they were quite soft. So if this was pintos they might have turned to mush.
@@jackietomkins5085 I'm in my 50s n watched my mom can when I was young.. NVR did much as an adult so I'm just getting into it..think I'll stick with easy stuff for now lol 🤣
@@crine7568 I enjoyed them very much. I have also canned Amish baked beans from the Amish canning cookbook, and they were good . They do not taste anything like Bush's though. More of a mild molasses smokey flavor.
My mother never cooked and I'm LOVING learning all the tricks I can pass down to my kiddos! I am very maternal and love to cook! Thank you for sharing what you do!!
Rebecca Binion hi and welcome to my channel! I have to tell you my mom cooked but she never let me bc she didn’t want the mess. Lol. I had to learn everything after I left home. I’m so happy for you and your desire to learn bc I’ve been there. I had the privilege of being a stay at home mom and homemaker. Caring for my family has been my greatest joy. I hope my channel is a blessing to you on your learning journey 😍. 💕Carol
@@carol-thriftychichousewife6231 I was just telling my husband last night I'm so glad I can be at home now, and don't know how we ever managed before when I worked crazy hours as an EMT! Lol I've just recently become disabled and can no longer work, and believe that was God's way of telling me I needed to stay home! 😊❤ I'm cherishing ever minute of it!!
My nieces and nephews do not cook. I don't know how they eat and keep alive. I can't imagine not cooking. My mom worked a lot, but still managed to cook every day, well till us kids were old enough to do it and take over - teenagers.
@@carol-thriftychichousewife6231 Here's a hint ! One that will be well appreciated, write down your favorite recipes and steps on how to make those dishes on a 3 X 5 card, I'm sure they are still sold - and save them in a small lock box. They can be scanned and photocopied to share. And one day when you have reached your reward and are no longer here on earth - someone in your family - even generations later, can cook up one of your meals and say that it tastes just like how mom used to make it! My grandmother was an excellent cook but she never showed anyone how she made what she made, it was her pride and joy and secret, and her secrets went with her. Which is a shame. I swear that woman could have taken an old bone and some water and have made a great tasting meal.
This was my first time pressure canning. I had so much fun and learned a lot. Thank you for sharing how and for the absolutely delicious recipe. I had one jar leak because I think I overfilled it. It still sealed but we ate it for supper that night. Yummy!!
Hi I have just opened a jar of baked beans I canned yesterday for beans on toast. I can now say to the world I am no longer a canning virgin. I followed your recipe and vidio from start to finish and have 16 pint jars all sealed. They were great and cooked just right no more Heinz for us! Thank you I follow you and a few other canners in the USA and Canada as I'm an English retired chef and I live in the hills of southern Spain and as its summer the Roma tomatoes come cheap so they are next on my list . Cheers
Stephen Hayden oh I love this!! And how blessed you are to be in Spain! Enjoy those Romas. I love to can mine whole then use them throughout the rest of the year to make all kinds of tomato dishes. Trust me, there’s nothing like opening a jar of home canned tomatoes in the winter... the smell alone is intoxicating. And making homemade pasta sauce with them is just amazing! So happy you’ve joined the canning obsession! Thank you for watching and supporting my channel! 😊
A1 is a great additive if your want zesty Cowboy Beans. Cans well. 53yrs old now but started helping grandma can by standing on a kitchen chair to reach the sink for jar washing.
I’m so excited to find your channel today!!! Wow!! You have a bunch of amazing looking recipes! I’ve been gardening and water bath canning for over 10 years, and started pressure canning just over a year ago. I’ve been searching for a canned baked bean recipe that I want to give a try in the pressure canner. Your recipe looks the best!! I can’t wait to try it! Thanks for making a video of this and putting the ingredients in the description. That is super helpful!!
Perfect video, very clear directions as well! Thank you for showing this baked bean recipe and the canning of them. Newbie pressure cooker here, only had water bathed in the past. You have given me the confidence, from watching your videos. Santa is bringing me a pressure cooker. I am super excited! Thanks again.
I have the same kind of canner and it has been sitting, collecting dust for almost 3 years. I will be canning baked beans this week but since I live alone it will be pint sized jars. I love baked beans anyway.
I made these beans a few weeks back they turned out great, 4 qts jars. I made a smaller batch to make sure hubby would like them. HE DOES. The beans were a tad toothy, that was my fault, but the flavor was awesome sauce👍. I am making them again only in pints this time. And I am going to cook the beans a little longer before I pressure cook them. Thank you so much for sharing. We don't eat pork so this works out great for us. Sending you a hug and a smile 😀.
Being new to pressure canning, this was the first time making baked beans....this method is so easy...so tasty...I will be making it again....I have to admit...I did cheat a little...I bought 2 6lb cans of beans from our local food service store...I rinsed off all the "goo"...mixed the beans and added them to the jars...I have to warn you...you must debubble the jars since they pack tighter in the jars,..once debubbled, more tomato sauce was needed...I made a little more than 7 qts and, as I said...I will be making this again...Thank you Carol...you made this experience so easy....and delicious.
yes they are the best I have my 2nd batch in the All American canner , thanks so much your video has helped me so to get started in canning, Harry from Gold Cost Australia
Good afternoon from Alabama. I'm canning my 3rd batch of these delicious baked beans, I only have 4 pints in the pantry. My daughter can't have the liquid smoke, there is something in it that triggers her migraines. So, this time I added a tsp of Grill Mates Barbecue Seasonings. We tasted the sauce; she loved it & so far no headache.
Wanted to let you know I canned up your recipe and thought that the molasses amount was just right! I did end up adding some extra seasonings and then ended up with a pint of extra sauce which got canned too. With 3 1/2# navy beans I got sixteen pints and they look beautiful. Thank you for your recipe and the video!
Cant wait to try these! I have been looking for some new recipes for canning. I think I might put a slice of thick cut bacon in each jar and see how it turns out. Yum!
Oh wow, made this today (actually still making another batch) and it tastes amazing!! My navy beans took longer to hydrate though. The sauce is delicious! Can't wait to take these out of the canner and put in the next batch! Thank you for the detailed video.
Roll that beautiful bean footage! I use a 15 bean mix (minus the black beans which I pick out otherwise they discolor the whole batch) I also use a 50/50 molassas/cane syrup blend for a lighter molassas flavor. Nice videos.
Hello, you have no idea how happy I am to have found your channel. I absolutely love your style and the way your bring your info to us. Thankyou so very much. I will be trying this recipe for sure.
I think i am probably the only one that didn’t care for the flavor of this recipe. The recipe came out practically perfect in quantity of beans to sauce. I idi 4 quarts in my AA 910 and 8 pints in my AA 915. First time i used 2 canners at once on my glass top stove. My husband was expecting it to crack and started looking for a replacement stove while they were processing. Lmao. All other recipes of yours i have tried in the past season have done pretty well. I appreciate the video. The morning after canning these they seemed more gel type consistency in the jars than liquid. See how they heat up later. You are always on point and organized. Safety being paramount. Thanks for sharing
I must update my comment. We decided to open another jar of these yesterday from the batch I processed 6 months ago and my husband and I both thought they were great. Its just the two of us and pints are perfect for our use. Thanks again Carol!!
I am your newest subscriber Carol and have saved this recipe & going to try. I have canned cases of black beans and also pinto beans which I use the most of and have sent lots of quarts to relatives. It looks like you have used white beans for your recipe and I have not found white beans in bulk yet. Anxious to make these and it is just about time to put that garden in.. HAPPY CANNING & thanks for sharing. ♥♥
raven bard Hi! Canning is so addicting isn’t it?! I did use navy beans but honestly use whatever you love. I’ve even made these baked beans using a combination of different types of beans. Hope you enjoy the recipe... thank you for subscribing 💕

Just found this recipe and can’t wait to try. I heard your small pup cough. Little dogs often have issues with tracheal collapse. I had two chihuahuas with it and have a Maltese with it now, but she is doing MUCH better very quickly after starting her in collagen supplement and probiotics. The sound concerned me; please don’t be offended. Can’t wait to try your recipes!
Love baked beans!!! Thank you for sharing! Can you put bacon in them? I will definitely be trying this out! Just found you don't know how I missed finding you earlier!
those look yummy..I want to learn to pressure can, so watching these vids sure helps. is your canner a 915? .I want santa to bring me one this year. marie from Canada
Marie Booze hi! Yes it’s a 915 and I think the perfect size (7 quarts or 9 pints). My husband was sweet enough to purchase it for me when I wanted to start learning. Great investment worth every penny 😊. I’ll warn you, canning is addicting 😉. Thanks for watching ❤️Carol
I just made these this weekend and am so pleased. The sauce is so good I’m thinking about using it alone as bbq sauce. Thank you so much for this video.
Frankie Firefly hi! No you shouldn’t do it that way to be safe. I’m a safety girl so I always follow safe canning guidelines😊. I know other canners do it that way but I wouldn’t and I can’t guarantee how they would turn out. However ultimately it’s up to you. Enjoy and thanks for watching 😍
Made them today and they are delicious! I added the cooked beans into the sauce, then filled the jars, leaving the one inch headspace. They are sweet with a little kick! LOVE THEM, Thank you, very much!
Hey from Ga/USA. I am a new subscriber and rang the bell . I learned of your channel from Mary @ Mary’s Nest. I am just starting to learn about canning fruits veges and jams. Have a blessed evening
Paul Kahlen hi! I did a lot of research on this exact question. Technically there is no reliable resource that says you can SAFELY add bacon. That is why I intentionally left it out of my video. However, I have added it without a problem and it makes the beans extra good (I used 2 1”pieces of thick bacon per jar). I just cannot tell you it is safe to do so :(. So it’s up to your discretion. I know that’s not a great answer, sorry. Thanks for watching:)
@@carol-thriftychichousewife6231 If you was to add bacon to your recipe you would have to pressure can it as if you was canning meat. It can be done. :") great reply to his question.. I am new to your channel. I have your recipe as one to try list for canning. :") Thanks for sharing.
My wife always takes Bush's beans and places them in a 9x13 casserole and adds strips of bacon to the top. Bakes till bacon is done and beans have caramelized and thickened. Hits the spot. Mom and Granny did it the same way so it is proven over about 65 years!
I had to use what I had around the house so I modified your recipe instead of tomato juice are used 29 ounces of tomato sauce and 29 ounces of water. Of course for tomato sauce I used another 29 ounce can of tomato sauce to make up the difference I also used one canned a fire roasted tomatoes blend it and threw that in. I had no liquid smoke so instead I used a quarter cup of hickory smoked barbecue sauce and 2 teaspoons of good smoked paprika. I also used to heaping tablespoons of yellow mustard because I had no dried so far the sauce tastes delicious I can’t wait to can these up. I’ve never made baked beans from scratch before and I can’t believe how yummy this recipe is
I can't wait to try them making them tomorrow. I'm new to canning but loving it. I appreciate your channel and I will be looking for more videos. Thank you!
I made these beans today and absolutely love this recipe!!! You're right....they are better than Bush's. Thank you so much for sharing and teaching. Our new favorite!!!
I made this a few weeks ago. I opened a jar the other day and the beans were hard. The sauce was great! Im not sure what happened but going to try it again. The sauce really is better than bush and im sure much healthier!
Eyes 2 C I’m sorry your beans didn’t turn out well. I’ve never had trouble with my beans being hard. Did you soak them? Or could there have been an issue with your canner or timing? Those are the only things I could imagine would have caused the problem. I hope you will give it another try. 😊
Thrifty Chic Housewife Yes.. I soaked them like you did. Not sure what happened. Ive been canning for years and never had this happen. For sure Im going to retry it tomorrow. 💖
I live my All American canner..they are definitely worth the money..also, it's good that the beans and meat go same time so you mix and match what you want..I use ham & chicken in my bean concoctions..have fun👍🤗🌟🎆
Thanks for your comment about the meat. I can chicken and venison every year and they have the same processing time as the beans. Making these today with bacon. Can't wait to try!
I am making these today. I was short 3 ounces of tomato sauce so used 3 oz of hot spicy V8. I was short a bit of molasses so used some home processed Wisconsin maple syrup from my sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s homestead. I added about a teaspoon of garlic powder and another 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp mesquite granules and only used 11/2 tsp black pepper. So far the sauce tastes great. I love that you can adjust to fit your own taste buds before you can it!! I am fairly new to canning though I helped as a kid. So far I have canned sauerkraut, mustard, pulled pork, spam, ground beef, 3 Bean Salad and now this. I know the spam isn’t approved but that’s before I knew lol.
I know how to can but I've never canned baked beans. I'm so glad you didn't make this a canning 101 video. All I needed was the recipe & how you did it. Thank you for sticking to the recipe. If I watch one more recipe/how to can I'll scream.
The UK consumes more baked beans than the whole world combined. Though we don't have BBQ/Smokey flavour. I will try this recipe, minus the molasses and smoke. Thanks for a comprehensive video.

Good tip. Ty
haha yep. Works with the last of the flour/water gravy thickener, ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, A1 etc etc etc
My Grandfather had a mason jar in the cupboard that contained a molasses and cider vinegar mixture. He took a swig of it every day.
Yup! My son’s grandmother would milk their cow and make “tigers milk” for him. A spoon dipped in molasses and swirled around in milk is better than a milkshake!
So do you sip all day on the 1 cup warm water to 1 Tablespoon molasses? I have very low iron and I want to give this a try
I loved the Bushes beans with onion and they quit making them! Guess I'll make my own now thanks to this great instructional vid! Thank you.
Our favorite canned bean recipe! Thank you!
Thank you 😊
Made these about a week ago with Great Northern Beans.
Did you parboil your great northern beans longer that you would using navy beans? I would like the great northerners too.
Terri TN the par boil time should be the same 😊
I really like the ingredients in your recipe. Would like to can these. Lots going on right now but am going to copy your recipe. Would can both qts, and pts. Not at the same time. I have done lots of canning, I am 84. I am a new subscriber.

@lovelyblkwoman Brown Thank you so much! I will give it a try.
40+ years canning here and can't wait to make these beans! Hubby and I are vegans and love beans plus they're so economical and nutritious!! Thanks!!
Hi Michigan prepper (also from the mitten ) (also plant based ) ♥️ just watched some of your videos I hope ur doing well
@@dakotafarmgirl4032 hugs to you!!
Thank you! You are the first person who has said 3/4 full, most people are saying for pints 1/2 cup, and I have a bunch of jars with a bit of beans swimming in sauce, I've eaten some but it's a waste, I'm using your method!
Would you share the recipe for your tomatoes sauce?
Making my 2nd batch of 7 quarts this week. My canning, my (your) ingredients. No chemicals, or anything unpronounceable. AND they taste great.
And I bet you saved a bunch of money.
Theses are the best beans I just finished 16 pints and had one with my ribs and potatoe salad. Omg I loved them!
Made these today cut the sugar in half for hubby, still tasted great but my spin is adding 1/4 cup of steak sauce for tang. Bringing canned up to pressure right now but will let you know how they turn out. 👍
Tried them tonight and that were lovely but really needed the extra sugar and a good lunch if warm spices. 😍 thanks for the recipe
@@brendastrandrigdon6201 Thanks for letting us know how it came out with less sugar, I was thinking of doing that too!

Brenda, thank you for sharing your spin on the beans. May I ask what type of steak sauce you used? Thank you in advance!

Lol. Enjoy!
Have you tried this with pinto beans? I'm just concerned they'll turn to mush lol. Thank you 😁
@@jackietomkins5085 I was wondering the same thing..came to comments to see if pinto can b used
@@markfults1693 I did mine with Navy beans because I couldn't find an answer. They turned out really good but I did have to make extra sauce and you have to work fast once your beans are ready and drained. By the time I got near the bottom of the pot they were quite soft. So if this was pintos they might have turned to mush.

I made and canned your baked beans recipe last Tuesday 6/3/19, and ate some for dinner tonight. That were a hit. Thanks for the recipe.☺

How was it with the Liquid smoke? I haven't tried any with that yet.
@@crine7568 I enjoyed them very much. I have also canned Amish baked beans from the Amish canning cookbook, and they were good .
They do not taste anything like Bush's though. More of a mild molasses smokey flavor.

Love your dogs. I always look for them in the background. Yorkies are my favorite small dog.

Glad it was helpful! 😊
I have the same kind of canner and it has been sitting, collecting dust for almost 3 years. I will be canning baked beans this week but since I live alone it will be pint sized jars. I love baked beans anyway.
Billie Tyree I even do mine in half pints sometimes too!
@@marciahowell6693 How long would you can for half pints?
MamaG G same as for pints. 75 minutes!
Wonderful instructions. I am snowed in and I am making baked beans.
Truthseeker Today you’re so sweet! Thank you for the kind words and hugs right back at ya 😉😍

I just found your recipe for baked beans. Canned 3 qtr. yesterday following your recipe. Good stuff.

Oh wow, made this today (actually still making another batch) and it tastes amazing!! My navy beans took longer to hydrate though. The sauce is delicious! Can't wait to take these out of the canner and put in the next batch! Thank you for the detailed video.
Thanks so much for the tip of adding the vinegar to keep the deposit off! :)

Very awesome to show how easy it is to make a product you know it is good ingredients! Thank you
Roll that beautiful bean footage! I use a 15 bean mix (minus the black beans which I pick out otherwise they discolor the whole batch) I also use a 50/50 molassas/cane syrup blend for a lighter molassas flavor. Nice videos.
Mylitla I agree about the black beans... I love them but in the mix they do change the color. Thank you for the compliment! 💕Carol
Hello, you have no idea how happy I am to have found your channel. I absolutely love your style and the way your bring your info to us. Thankyou so very much. I will be trying this recipe for sure.
thank you! did these and they turned out great
I think i am probably the only one that didn’t care for the flavor of this recipe.

I just made these this weekend and am so pleased. The sauce is so good I’m thinking about using it alone as bbq sauce. Thank you so much for this video.
I'm really looking forward to trying this! quick question..can I just add the dry beans (scant 1/2 cup per pint) then add the sauce and can?
Greetings beautiful.. how are you?
Can I add bacon?
I know this is an old video, however I just tried this recipe, and it is FANTASTIC! Thank you for posting this.
Carol, I made your beans today. Perfect! Thank you!

Eyes 2 C I’m sorry your beans didn’t turn out well. I’ve never had trouble with my beans being hard. Did you soak them? Or could there have been an issue with your canner or timing? Those are the only things I could imagine would have caused the problem. I hope you will give it another try. 😊

This is one I will definitely try. Thanks 😊
Hi. I just finished canning 6 quarts of these. The group I’m part of on Facebook wanted the recipe. I directed them to your channel.
I am
fairly new to canning though I helped as a kid. So far I have canned sauerkraut, mustard, pulled pork, spam, ground beef, 3 Bean Salad and now this. I know the spam isn’t approved but that’s before I knew lol.
