Quick & Dirty Tutorial: Coloured Salts for Decorating

  • Colouring salts using water soluble dye powders. This is a quick and dirty tutorial showing how I colour my epsom and sea salts. You don't have to use water soluble dye powder. Most colourants will work.

    i have been on fb groups emailing with mad micas trying to figure out how to bloom dyes for bathsalts and i couldnt comprehend adding water mixture to bath salts i figured it will get moldy thanks so much for showing the process. so now know i see u can color a small bathc let it dry and use that to color the rest. ugh thank you forreal

    Cindy & Lindsey, the colourants were purchased from a large distributor in oz. I keep some for myself then resell the remainder.
    If you are in the us, you can find dye powders at tkb trading and wholesale supplies plus.

    Can you recommend any good brand pigments?
    I've been experimenting for a while now but haven't had any luck. Your salts come out absolutely perfect and am wanting the same thing for my clients as well.

    Can you use micas? If so, do you mix then in water or alcohol?

      +elisasmama Yes you can. I have another video called Gold Nuggets, where I use gold mica to make golden chunks of salt. I used alcohol :)

    I'm waiting for just one person to simply mix it up by putting it in a covered container and simply shake it! Would be simpler faster and better mixed..

      I buy my dyes from a large supplier and resell. :)
