Your trees look great! It’s hard enough to keep them alive, and yours look very healthy :) I’m just starting in bonsai to seeing young plants in this situation is very encouraging :)
Your Iranian follower here🙋🏻♀️ (although I do live in Sweden). I’ve been watching your channel for a couple years, they have a calming effect on me. Thanks for sharing the art of bonsai with us!
When recording in this room, I wish we could get Peter to stand on the other side of the table for the session. It's great to learn from his hands and where he's looking. I often notice he shapes one branch while looking at a branch on the opposite side of the trunk!
I am sooo excited! I have connected with a bonsai grower here in my area and he wants me to set up pre-bonsai with my tree/shrub projects! I attended a short 2 hour class on "development" with two of his customer's evergreen bonsai as examples and it was very informative. I have a lot to learn! YOU have been a great help, and I just discovered that your book is available at my local library so I've requested it. I'm looking forward to learning even more about bonsai. Now I have a local connection to physically view planters, containers, pots, and all kinds of soil, akadama, pumice, tools, etc.
Hallo Peter - you have been an teaching me though your video for the last two year. Thank for keeping me going and your inspiration. Shawn (South Africa)
I wish I could be a guest and meet you Peter. Your videos have brought me so much joy because I have genuinely always wanted to learn how to grow my own bonsai (Since the movie Karate Kid 😂) and now- I have. I have even given my bonsai names. One is called: The Marriage, in which I got two young Japanese Maple limbs and gracefully intertwined them together and at the top, I wired them into a heart. The trees are flourishing! Thank you for all you do to help us Peter!☺️🙏🏻

@@HeronsBonsaiUK I live in Moscow and I think that bonsai here is just beginning to develop. I think it's because it's not such an easy task to grow and overwinter trees in a 15 million city with such a harsh climate. Many people prefer fully indoor trees like ficuses 😁 However, we have small bonsai club, bonsai shops with trees imported from Japan and so on. And I think that almost everyone who practices bonsai in Russia watches your videos 💚
Wow the passion really shows from the start! I've started with a little Chinese elm from the big DIY store in Scotland. Your videos have been really helpful

I haven a young ginseng ficus I bought from a box store it’s still small but it has 4 or 5 in a cluster should I trim it back to one? Also it has some shoots coming from the roots should those be trimmed aswell? My goal is to make it into a tree and not a bush
Hello I need help I have ordered so many clipping but the minute they get roots and tiny branches I take them out of the water and plant them. Once I do that I always manage to kill them. I'm very sad with my new batch. I unplanted then stuck them back in water before I killed it. What am I doing wrong I so want a bonsai tree!
I have no idea how you plant them? Wouldn't put them back in water again though 🤷 Just make sure the soil doesn't dry out? Otherwise would just search for repotting or potting clippings or seedlings on RUclips? 🤷😉
What's happening there is that they're used to growing in 100% water so the transfer to 100% soil shocks them and they die. Instead of just transferring them instantly, add a little bit of soil to your water and slowly acculamate the plants to the soil. Also, once they've gone to the soil, DO NOT let them dry out! They're used to 100% water so you should really overwater them for a while and then slowly ween them off that, slowly introducing a more normal water schedule. Basically, slow down. Slowly, slowly.
Water every day with well draining mix. What are you growing them in? What plants are they? Are you overfeeding them? Are you trying to grow them inside/somewhere very dry? So many particulars. Are you growing them from shoots? It's usual to plant a tree and grow it first for a few years before converting it. It sounds like you've missed something fundamental. Too hot, too bright, too dry, too stodgy soil etc
Maybe you can take cuttings from someting local to practice your propagation technique on. I had trouble myself with cutting in the beginning. I am in bonsai for my third year now and I am getting better at rooting cuttings. Best of luck with the next cuttings and most of al , have fun 🎉
I like his trees, I think he may need to find his own sort of refined style, fear not, that comes with time and practice. The trees seem to be rather healthy.
I hope he doesn’t leave the wire on for 2 years on this baby tree- and being a yew - in 2 years that wire would be very embedded. Do t think of it as a time table of ‘Hafta keep it on’ watch the wire and remove when it starts biting even if it’s in 6 months. Rewire if needed❤
