Priya makes everyone feel important and doesn’t trivialize any aspect of hard work someone does to feed others. She’s a gem and deserves all the best karma!
Another home run from Priya. One of my favorite things about you is that you dignify everyone you meet: with warmth, with grace, with genuine curiosity about their role in an operation, but beyond that, about their story, their life. Keep up the good work! Also, not gonna ignore the fact that Edgar just picks up a hot dog and eats it as is 😂
I love this video series. Priya is the perfect host for this. She is so enthusiastic, curious, and genuine. Her interviews with workers are so lovely. I enjoy hearing her speak Spanish to folks. I feel like these videos really shine a light on people whose efforts aren’t always recognized, despite their work product reaching so many. Keep these coming. I love seeing these processes and hearing from the people on the ground.
I work at the company that produces most of the casing and cutting machines they use at Sabrett and it's so cool to see them in action and what comes out of the process. Thank you for this amazing video!
This is so much about the story of America. Immigrants and people born in the US working together to make a classic American food. As a teacher, I'm very happy to be showing this video to my students for their writing projects about where food comes from. Great work! Thanks, Priya. As Jose Andres says, "Immigrants Feed America."
Yeah, specifically came back to the video days after watching to look at the comments to see if the whole "bones and all" confounded the heck out of anyone else... ( @4:47 )
yes and they still had to do a big recall back in 2017 because people were finding bone bits in their hod dogs, even one person sustained an injury from those bone bits.
I really enjoyed meeting these people, and seeing the process of how this food makes it to us. Priya's so engaging, and everyone she met seemed really in touch with their jobs.
Loved the episode! Loved how the Manager is so happy in his job! His energy is contagious! Also love how the owners are so in touch with their roots and history! More power to you!💜💜💜
It's nice seeing the different hot dog manufacturers opening up the facilities and showing that they have top notch equipment, processes, and cleanliness. Helps shed the Sinclair Louis type beliefs about the modern hot dog that some people still believe. BTW half frozen hot dog by itself is an amazing treat!
I think people used to be so scared of what hot dogs were made of and like, it's just meat. After seeing this I'm pretty sure a hotdog is the cleanest thing I've ever eaten lol
Priya, you’re an incredible journalist with such a kind heart. Hearing you speak Spanish and connecting with people so seamlessly makes me smile every time ❤. Brava!
At 4:51 when she asks if this meat has bones, and he says yes, and goes through how many blades they go through and again when it gets emulsified , he doesnt say that the bones are removed so I'm guessing the bone is broken down to the point where it's mixed in with the meat when it becomes an emulsion.
Love this series! It's so lovely to see how content and proud these employees are, wanting to stay and grow within the company. Super interesting and fantastic production as always!
She jels. Like a kid in a candy factory. Even her voice high pitch tones amid all the background noise are a perfect fit. Not soft spoken , but easy going , and ebullient , and this is what makes her perfect for the subjects the editors pick. Also the blend of sound tracks are on spot. The production team makes it sing. There is some NYT quality to it. And the underscored factor , the workers that show up for the shift , this being NYC , I am sure they endure MTA brutal , cramped , and often late trains and subways , so props for them to carry on with gusto. Bravo Pryia team. You are the sheeet
Ms. Krishna, as a NYer thank you for a delightful video. You lost all objectivity as a journalist, but who wouldn’t? Great job. BTW, loved that you answered the question that the linings are made from lamb.
I'm a vegetarian [not vegan!] and so don't eat meat hot dogs, but my family eats meat and I do the shopping so was interested in seeing how the Sabrett's were made. I had heard once that you don't want to see how hot dogs were made, but honestly, these look OK... though I'm a bit put off by bone being ground up in them, though I suppose it's OK as bones are a good source of calcium and if they're super ground, it must be OK. Hubby loves hot dogs... So I feel better buying him Sabrett's, knowing how clean the facility is and how the ingredients are just beef and spices, no weird fillers.
Another amazing episodei, I love how hotdogs are great for combating food waste as well , since we can use those meat parts with bones and all. It's a graet invention and utilization of a product that would otherwise probably go to the trash.
Love my hotdogs plain; no buns and no sauce. Most especially if it's grilled or cooked in a little water, then steamed and finally seared a bit (much like a gyoza).
0:59 That is actually downtown Atlanta. On the left side you see the gray building for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. On the day of shooting this scene during a break, Benedict Cumberbatch looked up at my wife (a Staff Attorney there) watching the filming in the other building for the Appeals court directly across the street and waved to her.
@3:46, the pallet labeled "rework" was either packaged wrong or other issues and cannot be shipped out, so the packages are opened and the weinies "reworked" into the next batch.
I just discovered Sabrett's after all these years of eating Nathan's or Hebrew National and I gotta admit, Sabrett is so much better. Wish I would of known about Sabrett earlier but I'm so happy I know about these amazing weeners now. Best Hotdog I've aver had
never heard of a sabrett hot dog. just tried the LA bacon wrapped hot dogs im from da west coast and recently moved to Chicago and slowly traveling to the east for first time. Would love to try them😍
there’s something about the way it keeps cutting back to the three old white dudes in a room, in regular-ass clothes, the lighting is different, everything is different, that really reinforces that they live in a completely different world than the workers in the factory.
Priya makes everyone feel important and doesn’t trivialize any aspect of hard work someone does to feed others. She’s a gem and deserves all the best karma!
Who is Piryma?
Like getting everyone at Bon Appetite fired and destroying respectable brand? Over a Halloween costume? Ignorance is bliss
Who makes you feel important? Your likes ? Lol Get a life.

This was so wholesome and incredibly “human”. I really love how it’s less about the food, but more about the people who make it all happen.

Curwood casings? Townsend peeler?

Actually really cool to see how specific their QC and sanitation practices are.
The xray bit is comforting
Priya Krishna is hopefully the future of food documentaries and writing. She's awesome.
I love this celebration of workers. Show this to all those who don't value workers and think of them as unskilled.
It is absolutely crazy that they have blades and choppers so fine that it breaks bones down into nothing
I thought it was USDA to have all the meat all mechanically separated
It makes complete sense though. Had to be cheaper to develop those blades and choppers than to source boneless meat or remove bones by hand/machine.
Yeah I was confused about whether or not there's pulverized bone in their hot dogs
Yeah, specifically came back to the video days after watching to look at the comments to see if the whole "bones and all" confounded the heck out of anyone else... ( @4:47 )

At first I thought, making hot dogs, what?? But Priya bought so much humanity to the presentation, it was a wonderful little slice of life process.
Seeing Priya's name is the only reason I had enough confidence to click on a How "Hot Dog is Made" video. And I'm very glad I did! Thanks Priya!

Edgar looks really bright and happy, he genuinely loves his job

Meat and bones. That info was new to me.
@@brisci bones is just calcium so super healthy!
@@Lisa-lisa-lisa-lisa1yeah if your a dog than its perfect
@@Lisa-lisa-lisa-lisa1it’s not healthy!
Another brilliant episode from the NYT On the Job team. Priya is just the very best host.
I _LOVE_ Priya's nerdy enthusiasm. 🥰🥰🥰
When Priya said Dexter, I got excited, but then I realized which Dexter she was referring to, which made me more excited!
She was referring to the cartoon one with the laboratory, not the one who kills bad guys and cuts them up.
Priya a natural at talking to people, love the editing and film maker and the people interviewed were great. Really enjoyed this.
somehow the music that was playing during the sorting process was just perfectly fitting
Priya, you’re an incredible journalist with such a kind heart. Hearing you speak Spanish and connecting with people so seamlessly makes me smile every time ❤. Brava!
I love all of this. The workers are so proud, the process is really interesting and Priya is iconic.
I really enjoy how Priya is so into the process. She has a wonderful exuberance that is so earnest it's almost child-like in its wholesomeness!
This series is so heartwarming. Amazing people doing amazing work. Incredible how much effort goes into making a simple hot dog.
I love Edgar's rosy cheeks! He and his teammates are so proud of their work, as they should be! I love hot dogs!
Thank you for another great video. It was comforting to learn that folks enjoyed their jobs at the company and took pride in their work.

The scene with the nutcracker music on the assembly line was my favorite
Every time I watch Priya not matter where I am I feel the NYC love… just fantastic!!

To quote the iconic Jennifer Coolidge: "You look like the Fourth of July! Makes me want a hot dog real bad!"
I love a good hot dog! Priya you are the best for highlighting this awesome company and its workers. Have a great holiday!
We all love Priya. That's not a topic up for debate.
Priya is incredible!! I followed NYT cooking just to see more of her.
11:31 when the song started playing, I LOST IT
Give Priya the Nobel Peace Prize already!
Eating one of these hot dogs has always been top of my bucket list….May 27th 2010….I finally accomplished this dream,I ❤ you New York

I'm a big hot dog fan. I did my due diligence and I've got to say Sabertt is my favorite hot dog you can buy at the store.
Loved this video.
You had to due diligence to figure out your favorite hotdog?
I love this program and appreciate all the hard work you do!! Keep ‘em coming!!!

I love your episodes Priya!
Hey beautiful 💗💗
How are you doing ???
Thanks for cheering me up :) I needed that!
Great place to work, fantastic product and made in the Bronx who could ask for more.
Sabrett is a superior product. I don't eat them often but when I do it's Sabrett!
„So these bones have meat?“ would be the more accurate question.
Emulsifying bones with phosphate and water. Delicious.
Priya is The Best!

Guess I DO wanna know how the sausage is made
I just discovered Sabrett's after all these years of eating Nathan's or Hebrew National and I gotta admit, Sabrett is so much better. Wish I would of known about Sabrett earlier but I'm so happy I know about these amazing weeners now. Best Hotdog I've aver had
Are the same ingredients used in both the natural casing and skinless hotdogs, or is there a different filler for each type of hot dog?
never heard of a sabrett hot dog. just tried the LA bacon wrapped hot dogs im from da west coast and recently moved to Chicago and slowly traveling to the east for first time. Would love to try them😍
Priya's hot dog necklace reminds me of Dodger from Oliver and Company - don't worry Priya I would have done it too haha
I was pregnant in New York in 1970 and I used to eat one of these every time I went to the clinic for an exam. Great hot dogs.
I love Priya's videos
You are a nice person with an entertaining and well produced show. Fan.
🤣i can't believe you're doing the whole culinary taste description of a ny hot dog Priya
Does NYT Cooking respond?
That Dexter's Lab call back hits right in the childhood.
This fun watching
😅
She is so good !
Well I wanted to know what kind of meat they use and some of the spices and what the casings made from. That would have been interesting and nice.
All the meats are ground with bone-in? I didn't know that! 👈⬅
Hey I just got the same North Face jacket that Priya has and I love it.
there’s something about the way it keeps cutting back to the three old white dudes in a room, in regular-ass clothes, the lighting is different, everything is different, that really reinforces that they live in a completely different world than the workers in the factory.
Yeah “white dudes” named Rosen..
So the bones too get crushed and mixed into the meat?
Edgar is an ace!
Priya is the best
If only the company were still called "House O' Weenies"! Delicious!
More please!
Boil? Grill? Or pan fry?
What’s the proper method to cook an authentic sabrett’s dog?
I love the music so much
The company culture seems very good vibed here
I didn’t see the Puerto Ricans with the salt and brooms
That’s before the Rosens bought em out.
u r my favorite person in the whole world
Wowowowow. What an opportunity.
10:37 super sonic hot dog!
Excellent
What is the soundtrack/music used ?
Didn't think ground up bones were included. Learned something.
Namaste Priya love your content on your videos Mami bendiciones.
Who is here looking for the salt hole Uncle Joey told us about?
All hail, the almight GLIZZY kingdome!
I honestly had no idea the bones were ground right into the hot dog. Um. Not sure what I think about that. 😮
Same here. I wonder if all hot dog makers grind the bones into the meat. I’m sorry, but it repulses me.
I can not be the only person that thought of Dexter the killer when she said she felt like dexter in his lab.
WHERE IS THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE CHALLENGE???
👀
140 varieties of hot dogs are made?? I have only heard of Sabrett hot dogs.
The first bite of ANYTHING should be WITHOUT condiments. It's the only way to know how it really tastes!
Give that host a raise, this could have been so boring but it was absolutely hilarious. She's a star
She is the real deal, watched it due to the fact that her name was attached.
