To give you a little info. this is the first episode, it is unlike all the rest. the first one stands alone. this show was never meant to be understood. the show doesn't come into any focus until season 3. you will notice, Normally, who ever tries to elevate themselves, gets screwed at the end of the episode. you will also notice, these happen very fast. there is normally someone talking. their only 11 minutes long. but take you from one point, and dump you in another. there is no love lost between any of them when it comes down to it.
I think it's incredible that the absurdity of the show still hits so well that even if you weren't sure you enjoyed it at the end, the journey to it was still full of laughs and good feelings.

I love athf so much! I have season 1-2 on a homemade vhs for my media collection. This show gets so damn wild 😂 also this is the pilot episode and it’s a little wonky but it gets way better as it goes on since they then had a budget to work with. my favorite episode is total re-Carl. A lot of adult swims shows are actually pretty good.
yo, I used to watch this show as a kid at my sister's place, she had cable so I would catch it on adult swim late at night. it had me laughing hard, I tried to be quiet since she was sleeping, but man, good times. now I'm 28 and I got the whole show on DVD and it comes with the movie and I also got the newer movie they made. which is hilarious. I also discovered that they recently came out with a new season, it currently only has 5 episodes but they still got it, it still hilarious. man what an excellent show. 🤩❤
The "detective" angle was just so they can get the show greenlit. They drop it quick and become more Seinfeldian and about nothing. If you watch the whole series, I'm watching it with you.

Quizzy you should skip the next 2 episodes..the show was still finding itself that early on...go to ep 4. The first mooninites episode. I feel like that's when things really got rolling. ATHF can be an acquired taste that takes some getting used to. By late season 2 it will be really good imo. Also I would pay to see Q react to Moral Orel. That should be the next show
