Just a warning, many courses especially ones that are program heavy or regular computer science courses do not support Mac. As well as Microsoft 365 on the Mac not having the full versions of word or excel, which do get in the way when performing specific things.

@@raymtui3644if you’re in computer science you absolutely could never survive with a tablet/iPad. You need a laptop. With a cheap one (don’t buy chrome books) you can manage most things. I wouldn’t recommend getting the acer aspire. Had one in high school and it was hell, had to open the laptop every two seconds to fix the ribbon cable for the keyboard 💀 Edit: Updating y’all because you might be confused but my old laptop is specifically an Acer Aspire V3-371 series to be specific. It’s quite old so the newer models probably fixed a lot of the issues it had. I recommend getting a laptop that has a metallic casing or at-least a metal frame inside. All the laptops I had that had issues were the ones plastic casing since they bent really easily (and I did take very good care of them). Although the issues it had I still adore that laptop and keep it in a safe place since it’s the one laptop that I can guarantee to work component wise, I just need to use a keyboard and mouse with it. (Fun fact: I actually got doom 2016 running on it and finished it completely on that laptop). Although when it comes to recommending it, I wouldn’t since it is very easily bendable. Still very useful to me tho. I’m a game engine/ game dev so every-time I test performance I will always run my programs on that laptop to see how older hardware fare with it.
Acer aspire 5 is good , intel i5 12 th gen with gtx 1650 and another variant with rtx 2050 . Graphics card are lower tgp so u can also use as office laptop and have a minimalistic too so no problem to convince your parents to buy you one . I was seeing it but had no service center near me so i went with a lenovo one .
Yes, the cheap Acer aspires are very fragile devices. They don’t pass the one handed test, the keyboard creaks, and the lid bends just by opening it. The screens are too large and the lid can’t support it well enough. The hinge will fail eventually with use.

For a laptop it definitely is. Cheap is relative to the product obviously. If you got your dream car in great condition for 700 dollars you’d shut right up.
Lenovo IdeaPad 3i 14 inch I3 1115G4 Intel uhd graphics 12gb ram 256gb ssd 60hz display That thing is the best budget laptop that can help you play games, do work and all of that for at 320 dollars
Asus vivo book and zen book are one of the worst product you could ever buy.. i and my brother both had bought the laptops and both had issues with the motherboard and we got it replace and especially the and ny vivo book is again having problem with the motherboard
It’s new times. New technology is more expensive. You can’t get a good laptop for $100 or $200 anymore. 600 is good compared to the new prices being more than rent in California

Acer aspire is a horrible product 🙂 end number of issues. I had to change it's keyboard twice, speaker once, software issues multiple times within just 1 year of purchasing
But it also depends for what purpose u want the laptop, if u want for gaming/ video editing then idk much .. maybe check out for more YT videos (see that u have a good processor)
As a Lenovo user of 4+ do NOT buy Lenovo. You will end up spending more money on repairs over the years than you will the actual laptop. Lenovo has quite the reputation when it comes to being a poor product. More notably the hinges on their laptops. Very flimsy, detachable, and breakable. In some cases, like mine, when opening up my laptop my screen cracked due to the damage caused from the hinges. I would like to note that I take very good care of my laptop to prevent such an event like this from happening. Therefore it is not at my own doing.
That’s all consumer laptops. If you want reliability you need to go for the business grade laptops. Lenovo Thinkpad and etc. If the Lenovo thinkpad is so bad why do many people from teachers and etc use it. The state wouldn’t give them an unreliable laptop that breaks every year since they wouldn’t be able to replace them.
Can someone give me advice of laptops that are not that expensive. I need one for school bcuz i need to enter on sites and program things for classes but i also want to use it like for normal things. I never had a computer i just used my brother's sometimes but i never had myself

I am doing a health course and have decided to stay away from those three laptops due to the maximum storage in the laptops. It is better to get one that is 512GB so that you do not worry about having 'insufficient storage' or having to delete things that may be of great value or use.
