  • This video presents experimental roller/crimpers for larger scale agricultural operations. The patented (patent #7,987,917) multiple-stage design utilizes compression springs on the crimping rollers to maintain effective crimping force that is transferred to the cover crop for effective termination. The first roller/crimper is 12 foot wide, 3-point hitch mounted and the second roller/crimper is a 30 foot wide, bi-fold, pull-type. Cereal rye is the cover crop seen in the video which provides a heavy residue cover on the soil surface. V1 is all I’ve ever been able to pull off with acceptable loses. Those rigs with the small rolling mechanisms don’t work for me. The big drums pull faster and just work better
