I order both the corded/cordless and also the regular cordless one. Honestly the corded/cordless has way more power and the filter I think it’s much better. I’m very happy, it’s very compact and súper powerful!
Nice review. Since Makita's batteries recharge fast, the runtime shouldn't be to worrysome. I have 8, 5 amp hour Makita batteries. I can stay running all day for the most part.
This is cool, great idea by makita to integrate it into the tools. I'm absolutely paranoid about respiratory protection, and I'm constantly wearing a respirator for tasks most people wouldn't. This system seems like a good investment in your safety and health.
So I just got one. I focused on AWS system and thought that well... They designed THAT vacum to work with a track saw and a slide saw. I didn't worry about dust extraction, power and suction. They designed entire system for it. But now once I checked the suction Im quite worried about its performence on these two. I will not be able to check it for a week, the question "will it be good enough?" now rings in my head constantly. Makes you wonder when it seems like a home vacum for 30 USD seems more powerfull than a such a expensive device :(
@@ConcordCarpenter wooden floor cuts during the assembly (max 20mm thick), adjusting cabinets, floor moldings, mostly finish work around the houses/apartments. Do you think I will need to do all of the cuts outside the customer house. I figured I should get a 38mm pipe as it seems to have higher suction but will that be enough? Thanks for your time.
Another great review Rob. 👍🏾 I've recently purchased the 36 volt rear handled circular saw and the power makes my m18 table saw sooo jealous... And it should be. Hopefully Milwaukee will put 2 batteries in their gen 2 version and an optional as/dc adapter would be neat also. Keep the price $799 and I'm in $599 without the adapter. Like you my tools are mostly red and teal. So I usually have a great array of options no matter what the tool I need.
I am a *huge* fan of the dual 18V platform! The reason I no longer buy Dewalt tools is because they are all over the place with their batteries. For the most part, one battery and one charger is the way to go. That's why Ryobi is the largest selling 18V brand.
Does it pulse the power on and off to clean the filter as use are using it or do U need to turn it off and on your self. Fine dust from from drilling old. Eg 25 plus years brick and concrete clogs up every other shop vac I have tried
Great review. And have you guys done a review on the Makita cut out saw you showed in the video? And any idea where I can get spare blades for the Makita cut out saw? I haven’t been able to locate any. Thanks for the great content.
Could you do a comparison with the ac powered version and the festool Midi? Would love a side By side comparison With your professional take on it. Thanks for another great video and demonstration!
you make a great point about "will youe guys use it if its a pain in the butt". hard truth, regs get broken 9/10 out of convienience, 1/10 out of ignorance.
On the topic of Makita tools. Makita just posted the other day on their official website that they now sell a 36 volt BRUSHLESS sds plus hammer drill.(XRH07PTU) If you guys could do a review on it that would be great! I'm thinking of buying it especially since I'm on the Makita platform. By the way I like the content on your channel and look forward to your tape measure competition so keep it up.
The backpack vacuum is better suited to people doing lots of work on ladders and over larger areas. It will save you having to constantly pick up and move your vacuum
I really hope Milwaukee follows suit with this dual 18 volt battery design. Im hesitant to buy the miter saw and blower because I don't believe 18 volts has the power needed on the job site
Actually I own a Milwaukee back pack vacuum it's 18 volts single battery ,but boy it does suck everything can fit in the hose , I think it has stronger suction than Makita, I did look alot around before buying
I purchased the unit and found it below average. Suction on batteries only good for light dust, bad run time, vac wand is cheap and first time you put it together it scratch’s the surface and is so hard to get apart and you feel it will dent and be useless in no time. The switch although good idea is so sensitive that while on a ladder it would turn itself on and off if the hose touched it while moving it around. 20-25 mins of battery isn’t enough for the batteries to be charged and cooled so you could expect if using it for a period of time to dedicate 6 5amp batteries which is getting expensive. The corded version has no hepa , no aws and not even a power socket for an aws adaptor. The list goes on . Looks good on paper and the idea but doesn’t deliver.
I have a few questions. Is is solely a dust extractor? Or can it be used as a general purpose shop vac as well or at least hook up to a miter saw? Did you find the capacity in the dust bag was enough?(if it’s just for masonry and concrete dust that wouldn’t be a problem, but if it is also usable on a miter saw). I know some dust systems have a thing where when the tool is on, the vac turns on automatically. Is there a version or accessory with that?
I'm curious about this too.. I'd imagine you'd want a big model if you're running a miter all day long. But if just for a few hours to trim a small room or something would be nice. Seems like it'd be great for final clean up, or small punchlist type stuff.
If would be PERFECT for a meter saw or track saw - light and portable. We used it on a tier saw with great results. 2.1 gal capacity but can be emptied very easily.
prf it’s their drywall cutout tool. Click the link in the description to ready more about it and see where you can buy it. Please consider subscribing- thx
All this cordless stuff is cool but them Lithium Iron Battery's are expensive to replace. corded tools to me really aren't that bad carbon brushes are no big deal to replace either although I would have a few corded tools though
Mr intellect me hardly. but if my phones auto correct makes you feel like another person so be it I could care less. I'm perfectly happy using my hands over a keyboard any day.
Iloveapplefritters A lot of dewalt stuff is very gimmicky. All their batteries are rated dishonestly. Their impact drivers never seem to hit the advertised numbers during independent tests. They claim "made in the usa" on the packaging but when you read further it's "assembled in the usa with worldwide parts", aka made in china. The general laborers fall for that marking shit all day long. I hire a lot of contractors to do work for me and i never see anyone with makita, it's always dewalt and ryobi. Funny because i love my makita tools. They just feel so solid and there's no question of reliability.
As otgers have said, Ryobi is for the home user that doesn't use it day in day out all day. The Makita is made to last being used every day for long periods.
tensazero I will be so glad when people stop running to Ryobi all the time trying to save a dollar. Their tools are utter shit and they will not hold up to long even in home use... They definately cannot cut everyday use. People buy Ryobi thinking they are getting a good tool since Home Depot promotes it. Ryobi is pure shit.
I order both the corded/cordless and also the regular cordless one.
Honestly the corded/cordless has way more power and the filter I think it’s much better. I’m very happy, it’s very compact and súper powerful!
Corded has higher CFM and is needed if your surfacing or doing some heavy grinding
I love my flexvolt dust extraction unit and the 150cfm that it supplies though a 54 volt/6ah battery only lasts for around fifteen minutes lol.👍😃
Nice review. Since Makita's batteries recharge fast, the runtime shouldn't be to worrysome. I have 8, 5 amp hour Makita batteries. I can stay running all day for the most part.
Excellent review on this Makita tool!

V.Vega yes it is
great video, thanks. I'm with you some tools need to be plugged in.
So far every tool you review, I buy soon after!!! Keep them up!
That might NOT be a good thing -pace yourself brother ;)
You must have a LOT of tools :)

KmylGlaza How is it ? It’s a lot of cash if it’s crap but it’s cordless so that kind of makes me want it
Its GREAT - its bot a Shop Vac - I wouldn't use it for demo

A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz do you know if they are planning on releasing a corded -cordless with Bluetooth

Just picked this vacuum up today on Facebook in like new condition for $125
As a pro, I must say you have great reviews. Also I couldn't agree more on the wheels the new ones are awful, Bigger is better.
Will you ever be making a compact hammerdrill head to head? You have the impact h-t-h but not the drill as far as I am aware.
Great review. And have you guys done a review on the Makita cut out saw you showed in the video? And any idea where I can get spare blades for the Makita cut out saw? I haven’t been able to locate any. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks again Rob for a nice review...
Very good review with jobsite insites!
Any one of you can let me know part number of additional WET filter design to upgrade DVC154L Makita vacuum please
Many thanks
Awesome review as always Rob, thank you! Add bluetooth start to this tool and I'm going to have to stop buying Red and Yellow and start buying Teal.
Oh man I know, they have it - review coming soon
Makita and Bosch are the only two companies which still own and maintain their own factories
Hi rob great review i need one of these but did you test it with the cordless mitre saw and what did you think ?
testing it now
Any new thoughts on this or other vac that have come on the market the last months since this review

What is the hose storage like? During transport. Festools is really great. Does it compare?
Alex Rains festool wins
Perfect review, thank you very much!
can you list the ac version model number please?

Nathaniel gamez where using it right now it is fantastic, not sure when you'll see A review on it
Awesome! Can't wait to see it. I like your style of tool reviews and want to know what you have to say about it.
Do you know how the power on this vacuum compares to the backpack vacuum that Makita sells?
not without looking but is seems to have more CFM and suction
The backpack vacuum is better suited to people doing lots of work on ladders and over larger areas. It will save you having to constantly pick up and move your vacuum
Absolutely

Not to worry, their miter saws have plenty of power, have been using them for over a year now almost everyday and no problems of any kind yet.

Does the ac/dc version also serve as a dual battery charger?
no
I wish they did, but no, I would have spare batteries ready to go or charging is using it all day.
Have you got a review of the new 12” 36v Makita mitre saw
I have a few questions. Is is solely a dust extractor? Or can it be used as a general purpose shop vac as well or at least hook up to a miter saw?
