No bad luck with black kitties . We’ve had black cats for many years ( 2 now ) and they have always been very loving and have gotten along with all our dogs also. However, the dogs at your stop were all very cute and friendly . Continue to enjoy your journey .

Did you notice the Temperance Cafe in Kirkby Stephen? At one time no alcohol was available in the village. The Temperance movement held sway.
Did you have Wainwright's guide to the walk? He created it and gave a lot of background information about the places en route and some amusing asides.
