Can I just say that this is by far the most legit and most genuine reaction of MUP2020? I mean, no spoiled her about the leaked results. She shut down all of her social media accounts. And imagine, if no one spoiled us with the results, we could have the same reaction like hers. Also, I liked your reference to Iloilo City to be the impostor (dark horse) of the competition. I'll be honest that Iloilo was a part of my top 10 list but wasn't a part of my top 5 list. She is definitely a dark horse, an underdog. But based on the overall competition from swimsuit to evening gown, and to the Q&A portion, I must say that she deserves to win. She's the only one who gave me goosebumps on the Q&A. Congrats to us Filipinos. We have a new queen, *Rabiya Mateo* 🇵🇭🇵🇭

It all started when they uploaded Ms Iloilo prelim interview video. She surprised us all with her new look. Shes very beautiful. she curl her hair and she look like one of the beautiful vampire in van helsing movie. That time she captured our hearts and we started to like her amd supporting her all the way
I agree with you. I’m from Iloilo too but initially she was not in my top 5. But after watching her prelim interview, i was amazed by her looks and her answer. She and Paranaque nailed the prelim q and a. Then comes the prepageant. The two of them also nailed it and I’m so happy they were the last 2 standing
I think Pia Wurtzbach, was also a dark horse during her time. She wasn’t everyone’s top choice for the title although she was a standout. Even Filipinos themselves were not convinced that she was the best choice to represent the country when she was crowned during Binibining Pilipinas. People have her in the radar but was totally overshadowed by powerhouses like Colombia, USA & Venezuela before the coronation night. And even among the candidates, Pia was not much of a competition in their minds. But during the finals night, Pia just kept on slaying every round until she clinched that crown.

Nah, maybe when pia competed in Bb. 2013 and 14. But she's definitely a favorite for MUP crown in 2015 together with Janicel Lubina Miss international Philippines 2015.

@Reji Kionesala , she lost two times at Binibining but I knew she was going to be Miss Universe after I saw her photo after her first try at the national title. I think Pia was being saved for a later year by Madame Stella hence I am convinced Binibining is fixed.

I was rooting for Paranaque and Sorsogon :”) from the beginning, and was pretty much glued to them. I kinda noticed the hype around Ilo Ilo City but I didn’t take much notice of her. Honestly kinda bummed that Paranaque didn’t win, but with that kind of performance from the top 2, either of them could have walked away with the crown. They were both very deserving of the title, and I must admit the more I review back Rabiya’s performances, the more I’m liking her! It was honestly a justified win, she’ll definitely put on a good show at MU.
She captured my attention during pre-final night that led me to check the prelim-interview. And I could tell then, she is darked horse that would surely shine during the Finals. And she did.
Paranaque actually twirled when the lyrics hit, “Pa ikot-ikot” which means twirl too in English

Rabiya is just like Sushmita Sen, the darkhorse in the 1994 Ms Universe, held in the Philippines.

I wrote, " nung inawit nila ang "A whole new world kasama si Pheabo Bryson hindi man lang sya dinadaanan ng camera." A truly dark horse hindi inasahan. In Rabiya's case, upon viewing her you tube prelims swimsuit and gown sabi ko Q and A lang ang kulang sa kanya. And she nailed the Q and A, kaya sya nanalo.

I admit, I'm one of those who overlooked Iloilo, like back in March, during their first presentation, I'm like, okay, she's pretty but she needs more work, even Cavite. But I don't know what happened during the covid lockdown but Iloilo surprised the hell out of me. She did came out of nowhere. The Top 3 early favorites, Biliran, Davao, Quezon City were knocked out, replaced by Iloilo, Cavite, and Parañaque!
I do love a dark horse win too. It's what makes the pageant exciting to watch, especially if that darkhorse proved her worth to win it. She just slayed that night! Iloilo served looks! She served face, and she gave unexpected passionate answers. She's a freaking platter is she's a dish.
She just needs to polish herself for a bit, and she'll be 100%. Her life story will be relatable too to a lot of people around the world who came from humble background.
iloilo was never in my standouts list too, even on the finals night. hence my shock upon learning of the news. didnt get to watch the finals streaming

The issues have started already.
When I knew about Rabiya’s background and watched her interviews, I understood why she won. She’s been working on a lot of community outreach which shows her heart. Her family was poor and her mom’s a single mother but supporting herself, she finished college as magna cumlaude. I personally can feel her sincerity when she talks.
Biliran got the highest vote in “Lazada Votes”, that’s why she earned a spot in the Top 16. :)

I still remember when ms.universe pia told to her interview that in this pageant dark horse will come out.and yes it is ilo-ilo she is a slayer.
I also did not expect Iloilo because all the front runners are veterans while MUP was just her second pageant ever. She just won Miss Iloilo on January 2020 and went on directly in joining MUP.
But I love her so much. She did very great. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

The Sovereign’s reaction everytime Romblon and Taguig city come out is sooooo genuine. i so love the “kilig” (giddiness is the closest English word) in her. so precious.... and i couldn’t agree more about Parañaque’s princessy feels on the evening gown and Davao City’s plain white gown that was assumed to be boring but it turned out to be otherwise.

But in pageantry, honestly never been because this is very political and no one was ever brave enough to actually stand on this point, not to mention she said that statement infront of the president's secretary. And it is timely. FYI the country is facing freedom issues and now it's just boost of confidence for the younger generation to speak up and stand up for our rights.

Hi Queen!! Been waiting for your review. You were right, Rabiya fought hard. I think the reason as to why you didn’t notice her as a strong candidate from the past few months is aside from this is her 1st national pageant, she doesn’t know what kind of styling will be perfect for her. There was a time that she went on IG live and said just threw her any questions and her make up was not really good which most of the pageant enthusiast provide her feedback about her look and gave her advices which she took note of and keep on experimenting until she arrived in Baguio City and she looked a totally different girl! At that point, I knew she has a chance winning the crown and she did. What I like about of her winning, she’s not yet on her peak which makes everyone excited what she will bring on the MU stage.
