I love how Rob meets people in the middle of the woods and parking garages in the middle of the night and they're all for it But a Guitar Center in the middle of the day is where people draw the line and get weirded out
He maybe just got unlucky and the people he asked were all beginners or not at the stage where they’re comfortable jamming in public……I remember when I was like that, lol. I’d go to buy a guitar, play 2 notes then buy it……Now I try everything in the store and end up in there playing guitars for hours 🤣

Very genuine and humble dude. U gotta imagine the fact that he could’ve literally made money and got a NEW instrument. But he chose to make people’s day.
Good on Rob for his attitude at 0:45. I hate when people are that type of sarcastic. It's always the people who bullied shy kids in school that grew up and never changed. I hope some younger people see the way Rob handled that and have a bit of a lightbulb inspiration moment.
He's doing what I've always expected that would happen to me as a child. I couldn't afford a nice guitar when I was younger and always hoped for someone to recognize my talent through RUclips or Facebook, but it never happened. 😂 That only motivated me to work harder on my music and now I work as a producer for some big label folks and own my dream guitars from when I was a kid. Rob, you're one of a kind man!
def the best thing ive seen a youtuber do, it isnt just the standard cut and dry "do (insert activity) and win a (insert amount of money here)". you're actually going out and genuinely interacting with the musician community
Dude I gotta give you PROPS for this video. It's amazing seeing you connect so deeply with complete strangers. Like, sure, you were giving things away, but that last dude on the skates! I feel like you genuinely made his month. Not ONLY did he get a completely badass guitar, but he also got to spend an hour shredding with you & learning how to soul grind. Soo epic! Keep spreading the good vibes man, it's awesome to see. :)
I never thought I would see a mountain biker in one of your videos, but here we are. Music and mountain biking, two of my favorite things, in one video.
Aw man, the very thought of getting anything as high quality as these instruments for free blows my mind, but then I realise that meeting and jamming with Rob would be more worth it. Also, we're kinda maxed out on space in our tiny home! I'd love to jam with more people of this level of talent. I think jamming above your station raises your game and levelling up, per se, is always a great feeling. Also, it's possible to discover that, by jamming with higher level players, you might be more adept than you think. I'm on my 48th solar orbit and I love learning new things and one thing I wish I learned in the late '80s was to stick to a practice regimen and not leave gaps of months or years between playing. I own a Schechter Omen, a P bass copy, a meh quality acoustic and my old 50th anniversary Squier Strat. My main focus in music has been in the digital domain and I did a soundtrack for a videogame called Disastr_Blastr. Most of my tracks are electronic, but there are a few on there with guitars. One of my tracks is fully metal and I did the whole thing myself except play the drum patterns. I also took up Uke for a laugh, but love it, especially low G tuning. Anyway, enough of the rambling. Quality stuff as usual. Toodle pip.
Oh God, I'll be so happy just with a simple electric guitar, and he's giving a lot of amazing guitars. If someday I have many guitars, I'll give some guitars too.
damn super talented not only at music but this skating technique...you are a gifted soul. My 27 year old Son just introduced me to your channel this week while visiting...happy to find you! You have a big heart and personality. All the best Rob!
I've never heard of Rob Scallon but i decided to watch the first few minutes to see if I'd like his channel and I'm only 3 minutes in. From what I gathered from the first 3 minutes is that he has a really happy and positive outlook on life and its quite refreshing, and his community is very wholesome. It's a breath of fresh air keep doing what you're doing and I just wanted to comment and let you know that even strangers like me who don't even know who you are or what you do; you can lift their spirits and put a smile on their face by your personality and uplifting chill content.
Damn I have to admit. This was one of the coolest and most selfless things I’ve ever seen. It teared me up a little for all the times I wanted music gear so bad but couldn’t afford it. I’m older now and can buy what I want (within reason, no slash snake pit Les Pauls) but it wasn’t always that way. So cool man.
I'm so damn glad one of the most wholesome YT musicians and one of my favorites is a Chicago dude, props to anybody talented enough to actually use as many instruments as Rob has and extra props to anybody who can manage to give away some of those instruments despite the sentimentality EDIT: The callback to the slap guitar vid is frickin' nice
Was so rooting for dude at the end! Normally wouldn’t comment on much but I appreciate your charity in this video and your passion for teaching. Ty for making people smile.
Hi Rob. Great appreciation for what you are doing, it is a most powerful thing to do specially towards people who wouldn't otherwise being able to take music as an activity. I myself began music only because a friend of mine gave me a bass he didn't use; ever since then I have been shifting away from my "mainstream" physics career towards studying music on my own, particularly from a maths and acoustics perspective. I like calling it doing scientific musical research. But my bass can only let me explore up to a certain point from where there after becomes challenging to advance in certain topics in music. (say harmony, for instance, just to mention something).
Being that said, I want to try out my luck here and ask for your help: By any chance are you giving away a keyboard... or synth... organ, maybe? If so, can i please have it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I know I’m asking too much here (I know I am).)
I'm a student, almost near of getting my degree, so I am in that stage where what you do for a living is barely earning you enough to survive, if any in the best of instances. That makes purchasing musical equipment, regardless of how useful it could be for my research purposes, farfetched from my capabilities.
I don’t want to say that gear is the only thing keeping me from doing things, because after all the knowledge is in the theory, not in the instrument intrinsically. But naturally, having something to test ideas on is a very valuable thing to have. I believe that for some instances “where there is a will there is a way," constantly I do things that help me getting all those things.
Regardless, I will be happy enough by just knowing that you read this because I want to tell you how much of an inspiration you have been. For me and for many, for the ideas you have shared, for taking different perspectives to music, for making amazing and top quality content, for being a very valuable and positive person within the youtube community, and now because of this very important thing you just did. As someone who found a passion from a similar act of generosity, I can assure you that you are sowing something special in the people you have been generous towards.
I've watched a few of your videos over the past few months, but this is the one that finally made me subscribe. Thanks for bringing positive vibes into a world so often full of negativity.

from the first time i started watching your videos. i could tell there was something special about you not just you could play anything very well and write songs and do anything pretty much musical . but what had me was i could tell you was a great person inside to i find so many rude players here in Ohio specially when you are at a music store they like to commit if you are not very good yet and laugh and this video just shows how much you like to give back .so don't change Rob because your videos are great
I've been subbed to this channel for years and had NO idea how good Rob is at inline skating! A man of many talents, and wholesome af!
Wait 'til you see the one with Jaws.
Does he have a skate channel.
Everyone is intimidated to play with you cause you're mad talented
You are now the Mr. Rogers of the music world...
Very genuine and humble dude. U gotta imagine the fact that he could’ve literally made money and got a NEW instrument. But he chose to make people’s day.
Dude not only do you entertain us so well. Your heart is so noble. What an amazing thing you are doing, sharing music with the world. Thank you man!
This video is crazy, I've never seen anyone have so much trouble giving things away.
When Rob taught the dude a sick roller-blading trick so that he could win a guitar for his wife, that was... *sniff* really nice.
“I’m not a creep, my mom’s here” lmaooo
Little do they know his mom plans to kidnap them all
Your skin would fit my mom perfectly!
@@lordlemmingman yo chill ed gein
Youll make a great purse for my Ma
idk how some people just don’t cry, i would fr shed a tear if i was given any kind of guitar
Toodle pip.
Yoo the fact that rob stuck around for everyone 2 show up is seriously precious and priceless, wish all well =)
this whole video was wholesome af! my favorite bit was with the skater dude: giving away both a free skate technique lesson AND a guitar!? So cool :-D
Rob just continually proves himself to be the best
I never knew that Rob was a literal god at roller-blading.
You are so humble by just giving away your instruments
This whole video was so awfully wholesome. Good on you, Rob. Keep spreading the positivity through your actions.
I'm so damn glad one of the most wholesome YT musicians and one of my favorites is a Chicago dude, props to anybody talented enough to actually use as many instruments as Rob has and extra props to anybody who can manage to give away some of those instruments despite the sentimentality
EDIT: The callback to the slap guitar vid is frickin' nice
THANK YOU.
It's a cloudy morning in Nairobi and this put such a big smile on my face! Happy Thursday everyone!
I've watched a few of your videos over the past few months, but this is the one that finally made me subscribe. Thanks for bringing positive vibes into a world so often full of negativity.
This is by far one of the most wholesome videos I've seen in a long time. Not only are you giving away instruments and clearing up space at home hahaa, but you're making a difference in these people's lives! Teaching Renee how to rail grind! That's something he wont ever forget for the rest of his life. Rob, you rock!
That soul grind lesson was the damn cutest thing I've ever seen.
I like that this video is more about people just having a good time than giving strangers instruments
This is amazing content dude... Giving away your instruments to your fans is just SO, SO cool... There's a lot of very unfortunate people out there that appreciate things like this more than people know...
When covid hit last year, it hit me and my family very hard. I had to sell both of my guitars and my amplifier just to keep up with bills.
I'm hoping one day soon I'll be in a better position and able to afford to put another guitar back in my home!
Much love for everything you do Rob, and congrats everyone! 💜✌️
I am literally following you because of this video! Dude! This is awesome. I wish I was either in a position where I could give away my instruments, or in a position where I could receive one of yours. Alas, I am in neither position! Awesome
I think my favourite thing is that Rob clearly spent like 2+ hours sessioning that rail with Rene. Rad.
The part with Renee was so lovely, I'm totally not crying rn.
I love how in between rollerblading lessons Rob is just straight flexing on Renee
Your videos put a smile on my face for the entire length of it. No other channel does that. Keep it up Rob!
Only a truly good person would buy two completely new instruments (the Schecter and another banjo) in an effort to give away excess instruments. You are a wonderful human being, Rob!
I can’t imagine the emotional pain you must have felt giving away these guitars, it’s hard to leave your children
The last guy "I don't play but my wife wants one" and learning to do a soul grind to get his wife a guitar? That was absolutely wonderful.
Surprisingly, my favorite part of this whole video was watching teach that man how to Soul grind. You can tell Rob truly enjoys teaching things and that warmed my heart.
Rob, you never cease to amaze me with another skill we never knew about! I've watched you on & off as a musician, but as a master rollerblades‐man??? I wonder....., what else is there that we don't know about you???!!!!!
Wow! So glad so watch this. Congratulations, Rob!!! Such a lesson right there. Cheers from Brazil!
Rob you're such a cool guy and an amazing soul. Thank you for being so generous and humble. The world needs more and more people like you. Cheers from Turkey.
This is so wholesome when RUclips is flooded with folks giving away whole ferraris. You really see the honesty here. And I love how you taught Rene (I don't know how to spell his name, sorry dude!) how to execute that trick. Very wholesome, great stuff!
"This guitar...is mine now" was the absolute best! hahaha
This is the first video I've seen of you and just wanted to say this is awesome! I love the attitude of giving away things to strangers. You've made so many people's days better with these acts of kindness! I love that you taught that last guy the cool trick on the skates. Rock on!
This is so amazing. The gift of music is a gift that keeps on giving.
