*Elephant Island! I said it wrong 🫢
@@DanielsimsSteiner I was confused for a second! Still a great video. Keep it up
800 MILES IN A LIFEBOAT DUDE????????? I will never get over that, this is so cool
The lifeboat is in England now and I wanna go see it so bad
870 miles!! 😮 incredible
For us, Chileans, this story is special. The rescue of the Endurance team was a challenge in itself. In Chile, the operation, commanded by the Captain Luis Pardo in the ship Yelcho, is considered a historic feat.
You are going to grow so fast, incredible video production
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I rarely binge videos this long, defo hitting the right notes
I read this book in middle school, just stumbled on it in the library. I remember being amazed at the endurance of those guys, fitting that's the name of the ship.
I can’t imagine going through what they did
I just finished the book. It’s unbelievable how they survived.
Just unbelievably crisp and so well laid out
Means the freaking world from u 🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is one of the best videos on the topic, and it’s a damn shame it doesn’t have more views 😤
This is actually my new favorite channel dude ❤️ big vox/johnny harris vibes, and super well researched! subbed and hit the bell lol
this guy used to work for johnny harris
I saw IMAX movie about Shackleton 20 years ago in Valencia, Spain and never forgot their story of surviving Antarctica. Thank you for this high quality and amazingly researched video. ❤
I thought this video had millions of views but I am so surprised to see it has 12k! Your videos are awesome, keep it up!!
Kiff telling of the tale ✨✨✨I used to go for walks here in Cape Town just to go stare at the Agulhas II and dream of sailing to Antarctica..however when I would bump into people who worked onboard I started thinking twice...even with modern luxuries, spending months at sea sounds like it can take a toll on you.
Ohh that’s so sick you get to see them come and go! I can’t imagine having to do those journeys back in the days without all the luxuries
Inspiring story, and great video production. I can’t believe how small your channel is at the moment. I feel like Vox will want to hire you soon.
This is the most incredible story I've ever heard, I don't believe there are any humans left on earth that could even survive a fraction of that time enduring what they did, truly inspirational.
Unbelievably inspiring and moving. Thank you!
What an incredible production, Daniel. Cannot wait for what you create next.
Thank you so much!! This means the world 🙏🏻🙏🏻
How are you having just 2k views with that videographic production level and storytelling skills 😮
I enjoy your work; greetings from Germany. You'll go places
Hello! 👋🏻 I love Germany. And thank you so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@DanielsimsSteiner yea I bet; your last name is german 😄
If I can help you somehow, when you plan to visit Germany hmu ✌🏽
Great story! I’ve heard about it in the past, but didn’t know the small details like this, keep it going!
Thank you so much!
I love maps and I love Antarctica, so I'm excited to have found your channel. For anyone reading this, RUN, do not walk, to your nearest library to read Endurance by Alfred Lansing. Every time I flipped the page, I thought, "OMG. It can't get any worse than this." Then it does, and it's incredible they survived. (p.s. The book about the Ross Sea party is called The Lost Men by Kelly Tyler-Lewis.)
So crazy to me that the ship was so well preserved after all this time
Same. So so cool to see
Such an inspiring story! Really awesome work with the editing, especially the maps! Can't wait to see what you do next.
this video was so well made i'm obsessed with your channel!!! and now with the story of the endurance like... WOW
Thank you so much!!
This was awesome! Thank you!
These videos are so incredibly well made that I went to your page thinking you'd already made a million others! Just subscribed and can't wait to see what else you put out! 😄🙏🙏
Great video and story telling! Excited to watch your channel grow!
I did a project/presentation on this in grade school, and it’s remained one of my favorite stories of the human spirit ever since. Great videos, love this channel.
These vids are SO good!!!!! I can’t wait for many more deep dives.
Awesome video on one of my favorite topics. Also great production quality and that background! I wish I had that incredible map as a backdrop for my office!
You should teach me how to make high quality videos like this. Im obsessed. 10/10 Would Recommend
Wow thank you sm!
Whoa this is an incredible video!!

Terrific video! Hope more people get to find your stuff. Keep it up!
So glad I found your channel! Keep up the great work!
I’m so glad you did too! Thank you sm!
I need to understand how anyone can live for 2 years under a boat in the snow waiting and hoping for Shackleton to return
Amazing story! The visuals are extremely helpful!
Glad you like them! Thank you! 🙏🏻
What a story and what a video. Thank you 👍
Subscribed! GREAT channel ❤
Awesome video! Happy Christmas :)
Thank u! Happy Christmas 🎁
Gerard! He's such a good speaker about this. He was one of the speakers on my recent Ross Sea expedition. It's such an amazing story, from both sides! I hear that Nat Geo has the video images from that sub expedition, I hope they put them out soon.
I watched this when it came out and am shocked to see how (comparatively) few views it’s gotten since then. Really great and underrated video on a very cool topic.
That’s awesome! Each video is so studied
Thank you 😭🙏🏻
So captivating! An amazing story, and also one of my top favorite books. I love your work!
Thank you so much! 🫶🏼🫶🏼

Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed it!
Well done. Great telling.
wow, excellent video - I got chills so many times - very well done - I got to learn about Shackleton more deeply - and how cool is it that you got to see his grave?
Thank you so much! I really can’t believe I got to go there. The places they did this are incredible
Just came upon your videos on TikTok. I’ve always loved history and just learning about new things. Keep up the good work!
Awesome! Thank you so much!! So glad ur here 🙏🏻
Thank you, Daniel! I have learned so much more about this amazing story from your video! Great job.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Truely fantastic work! Keep it up!

Your videos are amazing, man!
I appreciate that! Thank you! 🙏🏻
I really enjoyed this! Such a huge hardship, I can't stand the cold!
Amazing memories from Antarctica and a good refresher of this inspiring and legendary story. Well done! ☝️

Great work, ur going places
Thank you 🙌
Shackleton is Legit! Love the video and yes the book Endurance is amazing.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🇦🇶🇦🇶 Shackleton ftw
What an incredible story of the human spirit. Imagine people today experiencing the same conditions… They would have given up once the ship went under
Brilliant!!! Just brilliant
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Excellent 👍
Thank you!
Super good video man! I hope the internet algorithm looks your way🫡
I appreciate it! Means a lot 🙏🏻
Hey Daniel, when is the episode for the Aurora Expedition?
actually insane
oh my, I feel like the video has some Johnny Harris's blessings to it. It would be even more awesome if there's a video with similar editing about Ho Chi Minh City, yes.
I love the endurance
The craziest story
I would have crossed the Antarctic for new Daniel content 10 times. Glad I didn’t have to, but still would.
Hahaha you’re the reason I’m here
Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. I used to be mesmerized by your stories. But now, I am just mesmerized by your face. Show more face please. 😂
🫡
This would be a good movie.
I worked in dog sled racing and the level of abuse is insane.
I point to these expeditions as an example of the brutality of this form of dog sledding.
His name should be Frank Bestley!
Most videos of this high quality seem to be propaganda attempting at shape political or religious views. (Looking at you Johnny Harris)
This guys just make super interesting videos on interesting and inspiring stories. Keep at it, this is amazing!
Horray!
no one is doing it like Daniel is these days
Those men were built different. And I will say unashamed, God guided and saved them.
What happened to the aurora and her crew?
I woulda died.
Ahahaha I woulda laid down and died too
Back when Britian was still a world leader.
The fact that Tom Creen’s name is not mentioned in this is a travesty. Shackleton would have been dead long before any of this without Creen.
Read “Unsung Hero” if you want to know more.
It’s a great video but Creen really deserved to be mentioned.
No mention of Tom Crean nor of Luis Pardo, absolutely baffling
It is baffling that there was absolutely no mention of Luis Pardo and the Yelcho's rescue expedition of the Endurance Crew, it's insulting how it's just glossed over like that when the Yelcho's crew willingly sailed into the deadly waters to Elephant Island. Is it right to give no mention of those who put their lives at such risk?
Before sailing to Elephant island in the patrol ship Yelcho, Pardo sent this letter to his father: _"The task is great, but nothing frightens me: for I'm a Chilean. Two considerations make the face these dangers: to save the explorers and to give glory to Chile. I'll be happy if I can achieve in what others have not. If I fail and die, you must take care of my Laura and my children, who will be left without any support except yours. If I succeed, I will have done my humanitarian duty as a mariner and as a Chilean. When you read this letter, your son will be dead or will have arrived at Punta Arenas with the castaways. I will not return alone."_
that's nothing compared to the polaris expedition lol
Ahhh. No footage. No proof. Big 🧢
