No one else could make an unsuccessful shad fishing trip that entertaining. When dude tied up a spinner, turned to the camera and said 'power move,' and then proceeded to toss his leader and spinner into the river without first trying to his main line I was busting up 😂
Pro tip- put the wasabi in a bowl then just hit a few splashes of soy. Mash it into a paste and it will dissolve immediately when you mix in the rest of the soy, no lumps!
Have always used slinkys for fishing shad. Seems like wherever I go there's a ton of rocks. They aren't fool proof by any means, but they snag a lot less often than cannonballs. Pencil lead a close second....or first if it's what I have in by bag.
I like making rolls with teriyaki or Kalbi marinade flank steak. If you try it just make sure to cut your steak strips across the grain so each bite is tender and chewable. I have also tried it with Tri Tip. Awesome for people who don't like the idea of eating raw fish.
It used to be a fish processing plant until they changed it into a paper mill. In Oregon City, Oregon. Has been a paper mill ever since and it is still going still today. So that's a little bit of history there
I went to West Linn high school in the 90's. My buddy had a boat moored under the bridge. Favorite spot to skip school and fish. I love it. I used to take my dads ski boat and my brothers weights of his weight rack ( 45 lb for an anchor) and go fish for shad with a bare hook. Paper mouths though dont set the hook or horse them too hard. Jordan, dont eat that stinky bony shit. It could gag a maggot on a gut wagon.
Sushi looked fire! Your the first ive seen to put wasabi into the soy sauce. I was like finally someone eats sushi like how i like to eat it. Been addicted to it for almost 30 years. Btw never had shad. Why do people not like it?
DANG! No shad, trout, bass or steelhead at the falls? Any reason Y'ALL don't mention the month and day you are fishing?? That would be the biggest tip of all really! Tight Lines and thanks for the entertainment!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Hey! Cool video y’all. Not being a jerk, but just a fun fact. Shad were dumped into the Sacramento River in 1871. Transported via train from the east coast.
Iv been fishing 3 years in a row and as lame as I must be I haven't cought a fish yet what do you charge to take a person out and maybe show them the best way to catch something my friends take me out saying they catch stuff all the time but I haven't seen it yet... please hit me up if you can help me out....
I’m a cooked fish kind of guy myself but a good quality California roll is delicious when made right and fresh!!! Fresh fish and veggies are key to a good roll, I promise you give er a shot sometime you will be surprised. I sure in the heck was blown away

Yup! A fork mashes it nicely into a paste when you've got it in a small dish.
That was more gear lost shad fishing than I have lost in the last 5 years for the entire boat. 😂
Some count slower than others lol
Welcome to the Willamette River falls. Used to do a lot of boats demos just up from clackamette boat ramp.
My grandfather worked in both of those mills. Would be cool to fish down there

Tip for the cream cheese... Buy whipped cream cheese and put it in a Ziploc bag. Nip the corner off the bag and pipe it on. Hope this helps!

Ha! Best place to go to lose gear! If you want to cast and retrieve try against the bank right below "black point"...
