I'll take a remixed Freeway Jim video over any work Zoom call ever! Thanks for taking the time to redo this and letting me remember the pre-covid days of open roads
Great video! I have been to Miami many times and I recognized everything in the video. You were luck that you did not hit hit Miami rush hour! Congratulations on 50,000!
Literally just home from this drive, but in reverse. Began at PGA Blvd Palm Beach Gardens headed south. Good times, remember when you originally posted this. Come back again soon, always fun to see the home area through your eye.
Thank you for posting this video. it was nice seeing some of the old streets off of I95 that I use to take when I lived in Margate Fl and would go different places. I95 and Sample Road to Rock Island Road in Margate. I am so grateful to have lived in Margate Fl for 10 years.
Very nice ride- very fun to see downtown Miami and a great soundtrack remix- video turned out great- and as always I really enjoy the commentary at the end of the video! Very informative and I always enjoy it. Very nice ride and worth the wait to sit down and enjoy the video sans distraction!
First off, I haven't accessed downtown Miami directly via the interchange you featured in the beginning; that is a lot more interesting than I had realized. Next time I'm in Miami, I'll have to explore that interchange a lot more in-depth. Great remix, and the songs you chose were *so* appropriate for Miami and South Florida in general.
My hometown! So much has changed since that recording, so many new buildings are up! My first thought when you exited i95 was "this definitely has to be a Sunday morning". Very smart move, in my opinion. And grats on hitting 50k!
CONGRATULATIONS on 50,000 subscribers!! P.S. I am one of them! Another P.S.: That's a lot of likes! UPDATE: If you go to Florida anytime soon, you NEED TO CHECK OUT the new and expanded I-4 Ultimate In Orlando, which should be completed before 2022 begins!
"Come Rain, Come Shine" had me stumped momentarily, I was thinking that sounds so familiar, and yet, It's not quite right. Then it dawned on me, oh yes, it's the tune from "Silly Little Love Songs." Very catchy little number, and it suits the Miami vibe.
I-95 through Miami forms a backbone freeway through the metro area of Miami. Also, I love to see this remix and it's quite unique there. I remembered the original before it was taken down and I thought it was taken down somewhere after the summer of 2020.
It's also interesting info that both I-95 and US 1 Northern Terminus is in Maine. They both link up numerous times until the last one up in Houlton. Then US 1 continues to Fort Kent about another 100+ miles north of Houlton. Another Amazing Video.
They both reach the Canadian border to New Brunswick. However, US 1 doesn't touch the Canadian border, but instead lies parallel to the St. John's River near the north end as it travels around the border of Maine, while I-95 touches the Canadian border to New Brunswick where it links the 14.5 km Route 95 to the TCH/Route 2 of the province of New Brunswick.
Another great video Jim. I love that stretch of road with I-95 begging in Brickell, and going into a viaduct to see the Miami skyline. What I like about most Florida freeways is that because the terrain is so flat, you can really see the highway infrastructure built up.
@@Freewayjim I haven't been to Texas much unfortunately. But I have seen Texas freeways in videos and pictures. Amazing engineering. I would love to see the TX Hi- Five, and the Katy freeway. I saw a video of an interesting toll road that I think is somewhere outside of Austin. One lane in each direction for a controlled access highway. I wonder if a highway like that could work for other sparsely populated areas?
Drove through Miami on my way to the Keys in December. Spent a little bit of time there, seemed like a well put together city. Never felt unsafe, it certainly didn't have that "Narco" vibe that it may have had in the late 1970s or 1980s. Love Florida, I definitely need to give Miami a more in-depth visit. Love the video, Jim! Keep it up!
Great video as always; I really liked the unused footage. I’m personally really glad you remixed the original video because to be honest I was not as much a fan of its soundtrack as I normally am from your videos. However the soundtrack from this video was fantastic and very memorable, made a video of already great footage even more enjoyable.
Thank you, with the original video I was going for more of a "Local Talent" soundtrack with the artists I used, but I would agree that this soundtrack is much better overall.
Would love to have you back in NE Ohio. The “Rubber City” of Akron and the birthplace of pro football, Canton, are going through a huge rebuild of I-77 through them and the NFL HOF is booming. We finally will have a road that won’t kill the tires we’re making.
Florida is great at this. Downtown Miami gives me Tokyo vibes with that elevated metro over the streets and it feels cramped (that's gotta be worse in a Toyota Tundra...). Although all around it's like ano other American city: sprrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrawl!! Congrats on 50k subs!
Thank you very much, driving the Tundra around Miami, even in Saturday night traffic (Video 17-10) was not that bad but I'd prefer a sporty car given the choice.
Have you heard the world's longest suspension bridge that was recently opened to traffic in Turkey on March 18, 2022? It's 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and it has a span length of 2,023 meters, surpassing Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Japan by 32 meters which is 1,991 meters.
and I know you'll reach 53K and who knows what maybe you'll reach 53.3K and I know your next video trips are going to be awesome can I also really like the music that you used for this video
COVID-19 is beginning to wind down here in Oklahoma too. If you are fully vaccinated then I don't see why you couldn't travel a little this year. Once I get my second COVID shot me and Kelly plan to travel to Colorado and see the mountains. Have you ever tried Duran Duran or Roxy Music for a soundtrack? Them both have really great music.
I95 miami metro like i5 Seattle metro is so different then most of the other cities. Instead of that circular sprawl you have a long strand of urban area that goes along the interstate and coast. Definitely fun to drive
By the way the rainbow interchange you passed by in this video is under-construction and is scheduled to be finished by 2025 so you could check it out by then. All i know is that the rainbow colors on the overpasses are being painted blue so it may be called the All-blue interchange by then. The song chose sync in so well with the footage and the editing is one point so nice video 👍
Over 70 miles of nearly uninterrupted "Flying V's" in the median. When I was a kid and we traveled cross-country, those Flying V's signaled to my brother and me that we were approaching a city. That and Holiday Inns. Because of those memories, I have a great hatred for high-mast lighting poles. They're so antiseptic and have no character at all.
I understand about the uncertainty of travel plans in the future. Birmingham is one place I want to see and drive the new I-20/I-59 through the city and stop at the Buc'ees in Leeds if I can.
First of all: Congrats on 50K! 2nd of all: As a European, I can't stand the American lane hogging. People driving slow in passing lanes causing you to meander through traffic. I hope that there will be a rule that enforces right lane driving anytime soon. Would make the interstate system soooo much better.
Thank you! yes, left lane hogs are a problem but I've never seen anything enforced on that front, it would be nice though, I'm sure those people have no idea what they are doing.
@@Freewayjim Do Americans even learn right lane usage when having driving lessons? Maybe if they would teach that to new drivers, that would be the start of a new way of driving.

Great work on this video re-mix. The one thing I noticed on this video (and the one from the week before) is that when you got to the director's commentary, the audio sound dropped greatly. Any known reason as to why that is?

@@wilderduran8427 Because I would not bother filming it to begin with. Look, I don't take requests, I film what I find interesting and don't film boring/uninteresting stretches of road just for the sake of filming.
@@Freewayjim What about Orlando? We’ve never seen you go in Orlando! It’s also a pretty interesting city.
(NOTE: THIS WON’T BE A FULL TRIP TO ORLANDO. JUST A VIDEO ABOUT THE FREEWAYS OF ORLANDO.)
Possible placement: 21-13
@@wilderduran8427 I had videos from Orlando from 2008 which have since been blocked due to music copyright issues, granted a lot has changed since then and those were of far lesser quality. Look at a map, coming from Atlanta to Miami, Orlanda is really out of the way if I want to go to Tampa (which I did in 2017) I get what I can, I don't make any money for this, sometimes things get left out with regards to time and distance based on the overall route I have planned. I can't do everything so how about you enjoy what videos I do make and let it be at that.
Hello freewayjim I am new
Hello.
Hi
Am I the only one who noticed that the Freemasons song ripped off the chorus of Tina Turner's "When the Heartache Is Over?"
They very well could have, these newer groups like to sample bits of older songs, see "Lola's Theme", it's built around the opening of Johnnie Taylor's "What About My Love'" ruclips.net/video/DREVFPE_qqw/видео.html
Bro it’s just you
So do u live in the Dallas area, and how do u cover all these miles everywhere, also in what car model thanks?
He lives in Atlanta
Try Premiering your Next video. Trust me, it’s Cool and a Good Addition!
Hi ever thought of going to Canada and driving on the 401 or 407
I've thought about it and it's been suggested a 1000 times, lol, but I probably won't go there.
Sorry. I put ? Mark on accident.
So do you like this “club dance” and house music and tend to listen to it a bit, outside of making videos?
I have a wide range of tastes and like some songs like this as well as some '70s Disco.
@@Freewayjim yep i know about the disco, remember the video you put out recently with all disco songs. :)
@@EphemeralProductions I have over 11,000 songs in my iTunes so I cover a lot of bases with that ;)
@@Freewayjim wow! Incredible! Gotta be one of the biggest such collections out there! :)
@@EphemeralProductions I don't know, I have heard of much larger collections.
To me, Miami`s best song is "turn the beat around" by Gloria Estefan ... remember Stallone in "The Specialist" :)
That was the first song in the original video 17-11, I wanted to make this video different from that one.
@@Freewayjim Yeahh, thanks for reply. This video's soundtrack is also quite great!!
@@joseluisvillalba1375 Thank you, Jose.
When was this video filmed?
June 11, 2017, I showed that in the Intro on the map screen at 25-30 seconds and at the end of the ride at 19:52.
Have you ever been on lake ponchartain causway
I have not.
Can you do south next time? Same route, just south?
It depends if I'm coming in from that direction or not based on the overall map for the trip, plus day and time matter with regard to traffic. I probably won't be back there for a few years anyway.
