Derek looked way different 4 years ago. I always liked these because they looked like a smaller version of my 66 4dr Belair. As much as I love a SBC; the straight sixes were great.
I happen to love a 4.3 V6 as well. They are torquey as hell.
Dang, it's a stick shift car! There's a bonus! I had to convert my grandmother's 66 two door 300 model to 4 speed and dropped a .040" over 427 I built into it. Basically a 390 hp 427 engine. Runs faster now that it will stop. Got the parts to fix that but haven't had the time.
Nice! This one needed a 4 speed badly
Brakes are over rated....Stopping is for those who don't want to win the race!
SERIOUSLY ! THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THE TREE SHIFT
Absolutely! 🇺🇸✔
learned to shift dads 3 speed pretty fast when i was 16
Hi, I am Anton Beckman, I wanted to thank you for using my track Alchemy in your video (the one starting at 6:06) your show is great, I haven’t heard about it before a few weeks ago and if I knew about it before I would have watched all your videos in a row a long time ago :D anyway thank you for liking my music enough to use it in your creation, and please never stop!
His brother didn't look happy when Derek was talking about the water pump😊 was a great video.

Wow you seem kinda serious in these early videos. But thats cool as you have improved even more as time has gone on! Great rescue
hi Derek been watching for a few years now but missed this one watching this episode in July 2023 , just watched the68 firebird at the show you put a motor and trans in very similar job to this one , funny to watch this when i'm use to your usual production ' glad you got rid of the heavy metal overlay and i noticed your brother has cheered up since this episode ' looks like this rescue went quicker than the firebird at the show albiet your using stock parts ' cheers to the years since then and now
The success Derek and vicegripgarage has had since these early days is fantastic.
I like it a lot! Many people are to busy with life & or, full of it & don't appreciate the fact that cool cars are getting harder to find & that beauty/66 Chevelle 4door deserves another life! I like it a lot & im glad that a fun loving knuckle buster obtained it & is willing to turn a wrench & get dirty enough to get er going again! GOOD STUFF BRO!!! DID I SAY THAT I LIKE IT???? LOL Me, I need any full frame vehicle I can find because I am so sick of 4 banger fwd trash! I want a 1973 Chevrolet 400 with 4.125 stroke! Brother had one that was bored .030 over, utilizing a stroker kit, forged, internally balanced crank, amber lightweight pistons 11/1 compression, the lift & duration -idk/ had it all written down but but, don't have that notebook anymore! it was a circle track/offroad cam from summit, aftermarket aluminum heads 202/160, roller rockers, msd ignition, Holley 750 dbl pumper w/manual seconsaries, th-400 w/new valve body, B & M shift kit, 3,500 stall conv, 373 gears in a mint 79 Z-28 BUILT BY A LOCAL MACHINE SHOP & MAN DID SHE RUN!!! 1/8 MILE BEAST!!! Long story short, I NEED TO RECREATE THAT DRIVETRAIN!!!!!! IF YOU KNOW OF ANY 1973 SB 400 WITH 4.125 STROKE, WITH NO CRACK'S, PLEASE MESSAGE ME? GOOD STUFF BRO!!!
Hey, appreciate that! Thanks for watching and supporting. In regards to the 400, they're great motors. They all have a standard 4.125 bore, the stock stroke with factory crank is around 3.75. Just have to be a little careful when boring them out. Sounds like a rad Z28! I think I have a 400 laying in the shed - but shipping will kill us unless you're from Minnesota. Have you looked through Craigslist and Facebook marketplace?
In my Neck of the Woods, Demolition Derbies Make use of all the Good Body Older Cars, I have seen some used in these events that were Collector Cars--back in 1980 at one Derby, a 74. Rocket 350 Olds. Cutlass was used that was Better than the one that I was Driving...
Hey Randy! I've seen some video's of some awesome cars in derbys. I get it though, guy just didn't know back then what they'd be today 👌🤷♂️

Love the sound, straight body & transmission didn’t grenade.
17:08 Holy shit that thing is fast. You from North Dakota to Australia in like 3 seconds.

So, you experienced your own Roadkill adventure. Even took the hood off. Nice!

Hank III and Incubus: The perfect soundtrack for tearing up the garage.
exactly
@@ViceGripGarage Not when his record company copyright strikes you and takes all your ad revenue, lol. It was an early video so I bet you don't do that anymore?
@@yakacm I see no claims, but yeah, I wondered about that Incubus part. There's an easy fix for it within YT without losing the views or comments if they ever did claim that.
Min it’s so crazy what a few years do to a feller! Life has gone a long way in the life of vgg! It’s too bad your brother didn’t want to be like the go too guy or something along those lines! Of course love your videos and a long time avid watcher!
