    Missing my sister this weekend. She moved 9 hours away. Brother too. When they come to visit, I just lay out the pickles and forks and they eat them just like your kiddos there. Made me grin from ear to ear. Have brine cooling to try this way. Using store bought cukes which will do for the single jar for this week. Not great like summer from the garden, but will do.

    The recipe is simple and fast. Thanks for sharing. I do want to point out that using Himalayan Salt is something I've never seen before in pickling. Since I use Himalayan salt exclusively, I will definitely try it.

    Can't wait to try this out for my grandsons. Wished the size jar was mentioned in the recipe above--only because I have both pints and quarts. Watching the video, easy to see quart size used... can we use plastic lids? Love the versatility and variations of hot spicy to sliced, etc. Just a great find for a recipe!!!!!!!! Thanks

    • @MrCapncrunchberry
      @MrCapncrunchberry 2 года назад +1

      It doesn't matter what size of jar just follow recipe you be ok.

    • @virginiavoigt2418
      @virginiavoigt2418 Год назад +1

      Also, plastic lids work better than the metal ones since, over time, the plastic will not corrode. There is no sealing involved, so that is not an issue either. You could even repurpose jars from commercially packed food. This recipe is not a demanding one.

      These pickles will stay fresh a minimum of a year, if they are kept in the refrigerator.

    Store-bought refrigerator dills are over $6 for a pint and a half jar. Homemade is the way to go.

    • @jimcarter6669
      @jimcarter6669 Год назад

      Figure in the cost of all the vinegar, spices, seeds, water, and prep time, gas to get supplies, and its cheaper to buy store bought for a small a mount, but they will not taste as good, maybe. Anybody remember Aunt Beas kerosene Cucumbers. Excellent Andy Griffith episode.

  • @LordThree
