I have the new manual version and have tested the autos, I love the design and it's usefulness however what I have an issue with is the hrc on the steel, they are soft and don't hold an edge as long at it should.

I have the auto and the fluted aluminum manual one. Since I got them a little over a month ago in a trade, I haven't had any other knives in my pocket besides one of the Stitches. I think its a great edc knife. If you like knives if there size I think its a great deal. The M390MK on the manual seems like it may hold an edge slightly better but I haven't done enough hard cutting with the 2 to really say for sure.

this is my favorite knife from Microtech. It quickly became my goto EDC knife. You must have very different hands than me .I love the feel ,the gimping on the Stitch. Fits my hands like no other knife I own. I have the manual. I also hunt a lot. This is in no way a knife I would use skinning a moose or deer. It is not designed for it. Your comments about it being a skinner makes me believe perhaps you are not a hunter?

I'm a self-confessed Microtech nerd. I just picked up a Stitch, and I'm very impressed with it. I see what you're saying about the gimping being far up. I feel like it's a good thing where I can hold it further back on the handle and get more leverage, or I can shift my hand up and put my thumb and finger on the gimping and the choil for more precise applications. I love my OTFs and my LUDT, but the OTFs are more like adult fidget tools for me, and the Stitch is like the LUDT on steroids.

Interesting subjectivity into the Stitch as it’s a comparable favorite of mine to my Chris Reeve’s Umnumzaan or Sebenza 31 Magnacut. I personally, 100%, carry my Stitch for self-defense and with a Large size, Mechanix Glove, this knife is absolutely perfect for me in every way. Hands down my favorite Microtech to date, especially the all-black configuration with the brass stand-offs. Respect your review, maybe a scaled down version would suit you; if Microtech made one. 👊🏽

My only gripe with the all black one is all the text on the blade, with the white writing it stands out quite a bit more opposed to the SW or apocalyptic finishes. The Stitch is an awesome knife and definitely agree with you about how perfect it is 100%.

It's not happening. You've got absolutely nothing to worry about with an accidental deployment. The person who made this video said a bunch of stuff about the button, I'll tell you, simply, you just have to be deliberate. Get one if you can, you will not be disappointed. I own two. Outstanding tool. A bit extreme in a couple of dimensional categories. Awesome knife. Bulletproof folder.

IMO jumping in that area you are asking for would be useless. I carry my stitch and im someone who likes a forward choil but does most my cutting in the regular grip. I have a medium size hang and my thumb lands perfectly on the jimping from normal grip. I would have to bring my hand all the way back to the end of handle to have my thumb anywhere near that area

Civilian, for sure. I don’t doubt your knowledge for knives and what not, but you must remember that saying a knife sucks isn’t for you to say. Of course you can say what you want about it, but as a civilian you only have so much experience when it comes to really having to use your knife as it is meant to be used..not just to be admired and pick out flaws. So in short, it’s a tool, use it like a tool, a lot of people collect, and hey more power to them, but again, in the end, it’s a meant to be used tool. So use it and the more you use it and get to know it the more you’ll either really and truly know why it “sucks” for you. But yours looks like it’s in mint condition so how can one know if it sucks. I mean no disrespect either, im very open to your response and others as well.

    • @roady7420

Yeah I’m mean ultimately as most experts say you only knife fight when you have nothing else. If you can evade you evade because knife fights are brutal. I think your fortune telling of having getting to choose fixed or folding you might want to think about. Basically whatever you have on you and whatever you normally carry everyday whether pocket jewelry, fixed or folding your going to fight with. So if you carry those working fixed blades knifes everyday in same spot in all situations then I would tend to agree. However as you have already stated you change it up. So you might be pulling a 650 folding knife to save your life or someone else’s life never say never. I have seen some $100 folding knife Being abused and they can be as used as hard a fixed blade knife it might break but if it solves the problem and that what you had with you. I dunno your fixed blade logic is flawed

This is definitely a knife that is far from screwed up. I think its an amazing deal for the price being a fully American made knife. The build quality and fit and finish is as good if not better then other companies making knives in the U.S. in the same price range. Beat the hell out of my Stitch going on 5+ years now. It's not the right knife for everyone, but as my daily carry beater knife it’s by far one of my favorites. The ergonomics of this knife are absolutely incredible, but that's just my personal opinion & experience. My other daily well abused knife is a CRKT M21-14DSF with about ten years of abuse. Anything that withstands the amount of daily abuse my knives receive, tends to be well built. The stitch is very unique & extremely well built…🫡👍
