Let’s consider you are attempting a Quiz having 20 multiple choice questions (MCQs). Each MCQ have five (05) options (only one them is correct). Each MCQ carry one (01) marks and there is no negative marking. In order to pass the Quiz, you need to obtain at least seven(07) marks.
Scenario 1: You don’t have any previous knowledge/preparation for this quiz and just randomly guessing the correct option then…
Q 1: What is the probability of getting exactly 10 marks if you are randomly attempting the Quiz?
Q 2: What is the probability of getting FAILED if you are randomly attempting the Quiz?
Scenario 2: You have previous knowledge/preparation for this quiz and you can guess the correct option with probability of 0.7 then…
Q 1: What is the probability of getting exactly 15 marks?
Q 2: What is the probability of getting FAILED?

Let’s consider there are 50 students in class and the teacher have asked each student to select a secret number between 1 and 1000 (inclusive). What is the probability that at-least two student will choose a same number?
In a Internee program at Airline Company, 60 percent of the internees are female and 40 percent
male. 80 percent of the females are business students, and 65 percent of the males are business
students.
a) An internee is selected at random. What is the probability that the person selected is a female
who is not a business student?
b) Are gender and field of study, independent in this case? Why?
