    DEVELOPMENT LOG:
This was by far the hardest part of the 2024 Relic Ruins US Project. Every part of it was difficult, even uploading the thumbnail was hard since I had to compress it to fit RUclips's 2MB limit.
Where do I even begin with this track?
The intro was one of the easier parts of the song. It's a simple melody, but I added more to it over time to make it a dramatic opening. This opening uses multiple upon multiple instruments. It uses strings, a violin, many vocals, many guitars, a piano, and many drums on top of sound effects (and I probably forget to mention something else).
This song used over 30 instruments, and originally had almost 100 channels. I shorted it down to almost 60 channels after I learned how to make instruments louder using an amplifier (instead of copy-paste, which ruined the new Desert Dazzle Bad Future US). US Bad Futures are the hardest track for me to make, and I kinda don't know why. They are hard to match.
The section after the intro used to be very empty, something a reviewer criticized the track on, but I added a guitar melody to it, which has some inspiration from Ridiculon's music, particularly from Steak Thru the Heart (Rapture Light) from Super Meat Boy's 5th Anniversary OST, in how they would shred a guitar to carry the background melody for the in-game version. I did refrain from going all out metal since the US OST is rock-based, not metal-based. This addition to the track was very recent, and post-dates most of what you hear in this track.
The climax of this song used to be more complex than you would think. It was going to have a drumroll intro, but that was scrapped since it was too clunky. The climax in of itself is actually a theoretical continuation of Nic's present theme, which is more apparent in my remix of Relic Ruins Present US. This part of the song was very difficult to make, and I think I overhauled it alone a few times. It didn't turn out like how I thought, but this is much better than previous iterations.
The falling action was pretty easy to make as it was just the past theme's falling action with an added guitar melody over it. The outro itself was pretty easy as well. The drumroll really carried the destroyed nature of this track as it's broken and clunky.
This track overall went through many overhauls, one of them changing the pitch of the entire track. I moved the track 1 semitone down to make it sound apocalyptic. Another huge change was cutting down on the amount of channels used, and using the SFX as instruments, and not sample tracks so the project doesn't crash on me (which happened multiple times during development). It now loads in 30 seconds instead of 2-5 minutes, and uses much less CPU.
Editing the video for this track wasn't easy either as I had to get a green screen for rain and a lightning strike that would work well with the video (since there were many unsuitable candidates), AND line them up to the song itself. The image for this video is the only suitable image for Relic Ruins Bad Future, and I edited it in Photopea to get that nice, glowing text. Also, the original image was small, so I had to up the resolution with a generic image resizer, and up the quality with a photo enhancer AI. Everything for this track was hard to make.
Compared to the original track I made 5 years ago, this was a huge upgrade. The original was a rushed mess that had no connection to Nic's track as I didn't know how to cover/remix music. My low skill ended up benefitting Desert Dazzle US melody-wise, but creating an abomination for Relic Ruins US. My original Relic Ruins US tracks (which were just the future themes) were so awful that some people I know, who were very much US OST fans, didn't like them. It's why I created the new Desert Dazzle US/Relic Ruins US in the first place.
This version actually references the present theme while having it's own melody, which isn't random notes, and the instrumentation fits the area that it's in. I'm actually pleased with this Bad Future track, unlike Desert Dazzle, where I still feel disappointed in it.

I noticed that at one point it quotes the past intro.

Hey HyperSonic777, will this released version Relic Ruins Bad Future USA 1 semitone up to make it sound less apocalyptic? I just like the relative major compositions. Well, as it is, this is really a huge job and I am absolutely delighted right now.

I moved the entire project file down 1 semitone to make it sound more appropriately apocalyptic and dead. The original pitch that was used in the 2nd RR US trailer sounded too cliché and overdramatic in the intro, and the rest just sounded just as cliché.
This track was a pain to make since I'm not great at US Bad Futures, and this song went through several overhauls to make it more interest, and more Nilsen-like. That's why it took about half a year to make this.
