    Great video and it is so refreshing to hear a person speak the Queens English. The enunciation and phasing of words is like velvet to my ears

    LOVE the idea of using cookie sheets and under bed storage containers.

    Thank you for such precious information and tips. I clean my stencils each time I use them. I feared that if paint accumulated and dried after several uses it wouldn’t come off. Good to know it does.
    What I also do is first let the paint dry a little so that I can remove most of it and toss it in the garbage to avoid washing it down the drain. It ends up being only a residue and it would spare the water system as well as the pipes.

    Love the detailed explanation of cleaning our stencils. It saves me money not having to replace a damaged one. Ever since you showed us I am a believer of the vegetable brush and warm water. I am thankful for all your help.💙💙

      Yay! We are so happy to hear this! It's amazing how long these stencils can last when they're taken care of!

    Hi. I am new to stenciling, and dreaded cleaning the stencils. I saw another channel where the person put six stencils in the bathtub and showed six different cleaning methods including Dawn dish soap, Isopropyl alcohol (much like hand cleaner) and others. She neglected to mention soaking the stencils first. I tried Clorox Multi-Surface Cleaner Free & Clear and it was like magic. I just put the stencils in the sink, sprayed them with the cleaner, ran warm water and gently used a non-scrub sponge and in seconds they were clean. It doesn't seem to hurt the stencils at all, even those fine lines because I am very careful. Try it and let me know what you think!!

    Thank you for all the awesome advice in all your videos! I like to let my larger stencils such as the tall porch sign stencils soak In the bathtub instead of trying to find a container long enough

    Is there a difference for using either chalk or acylic paints?

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  2 месяца назад

      We generally don't use chalk paints, but if you clean your stencil immediately after painting with warm water and mild soap the paints will come off the stencil. Otherwise, you may need to soak the stencil if the paint is dried.

      Hi! Patty used wallpaper once about 20 years ago - She adhered it to her surface, then painted over it. She has not used it more because wallpaper is typically pretty expensive.

    Can you wash after each use

      Absolutely! You don’t have to, unless you’re using red or glitter, but you certainly can!

      Hi, I’m using red paint, do I need to wash stencil everytime I paint or can I use it multiple times before it’s needed to be cleaned?

    I've had paint bleeding from the backside of my stencils. I wash both sides.

      It may have something to do with your application while you are painting. Check out our stencil basics video for tips on preventing bleeding.

      We do not typically use spray paint on our stencils. We use acrylic paint.
