      You may be right. There aren’t many people who sacrifices a personal life obsessed with winning like he does. He has had the greatest recruiting advantages and used it. He can coach. I’ll never totally be sold on if he is better than the Bear. That is me. The only reason Bear didn’t win more titles is he lived fancy free. He worked hard and played hard. Drank heavily and smoked heavily. Caught up to him. But no one can deny his impact on young men.

    Big damn deal. The guy ended up taking the Alabama job. He's a football coach- They ALL end up doing things that often end up contrary to their statements. That guy is the best damn coach in college football! Period. He dominates his sport the same way Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, and Wayne Gretzky did their respective sports. Love him or hate him, if you're a sports fan you're witnessing something special at the college level with Nick Saban pacing the sidelines in Tuscaloosa.

      It's a business. Especially the NFL. There are no loyalties. Any player, any coach can and will leave at the drop of a hat. Miami players don't play for Miami because they're all "into" Miami. They play where they are drafted or contracted to play in the NFL.

    You hit the nail on the head. You go ahead and tell your team, "I accepted an offer to coach elsewhere. Now, who's ready to practice?" and see how they react. Take a job making $900,000 a year, and get an offer for $1.7 million a year, with stipulations concerning WHEN you can announce it, or an athletic AD telling you DON'T TELL THE TEAM YET and see what a rock and a hard place you find yourself between. Mr. Perfect AUGRAD over there has it all figured out, with all his inside info about Saban.

  • @edr1222

  • @cleeterman
    @cleeterman 15 лет назад

    While I am thinking about it, Tubby said he would only leave Ole Miss in a pine box, Cheezik told his AD he wasn't interested, he found out when Cheezik didn't answer his phone. Wayne Hauizinga, Dolphins owner, gave Saban his blessing because he was up front with a person that needed to know. these are characteristics of most, if not all coaches.

  • @dsjj251
    @dsjj251 13 лет назад +1

    @filcox actually yes, He was honest to the media, and he was loyal to his team.
    He never lied because he didnt even talk to Alabama till after the season was over, and Alabama contacted the Dolphins before they contacted Saban
    as for the whole loyal part, he, and if you say he wasnt then you should have a problem with every single coach who was hired away from another teams, and thats pretty much all of them.

    According to Christopher Walken in the movie True Romance, every man has seventeen pantomimes when he's lying. (A woman's got twenty; a guy's got seventeen.) Anyway, Sicilians are taught to read these pantomimes so they can always know whether or not a man is telling him the truth. The number twelve pantomime is referring to oneself in the third person.

I am glad to see AU attempting to get their share of the uber recruits, but let's be serious. I have many Auburn friends and they all saw this coming, it was just a matter of time. Auburn will be good again, but every team goes through stretches of greatness. I don't want to have another back and forth with an Aubbie. We always make up in the end anyway. This is football! at first, he was NOT interested in alabama. he talked it over and then considered.

    Maybe you will....but I'm pretty sure Alabama's AD and boosters will be able to match or better any offer Saban gets from anybody. In 3 years Saban has taken Alabama from a mediocre, middle-of-the-pack irrelevant afterthought to the absolute class of the SEC, with at least 4 more years of dominance on the horizon. And you can keep adding another year to that four every year longer he stays. Ahhhh.....poor Auburn......You'd rather have Chizik? I DON'T BUY IT, AND NEVER WILL.

  • @AUgrad00

    he's still lying. He told the media that even asking if he was going to Alabama questioned his honesty and integrity; two things he lacked at the time. He also lied to LSU when he left them. Saban was a huge failure in the pro's ending with a losing record. Its' common knowledge that he was actually contacting Alabama. It wouldnt' be a big deal that he left but Players talked to him personally and he told them not to leave the Dolphins because he was staying.
    he told the ownership and destroyed the media for months for even asking if he was leaving. Huizinga was sick of dealing with him and many players said they wouldn't play for the dolphins or sign with them if he stayed. It was very ugly in Miami and to this day he's hated by the NFL media and players.
