Redmi Note8 uses a 6.3-inch LCD screen with a screen resolution of 1080P and a water drop screen design.
Red Rice Note8 is equipped with Qualcomm Mirosaur 665 processor, 11nm process, CPU, Mirosaur 665 uses the same four plus four small eight-core architecture as 660, Kryo 260 core, the main frequency up to 2.0GHz.
As we all know, redmi note 7 has gained a lot of attention and achieved good results. How about the waterproofing performance of the new generation of redmi note 8? Let's have a look.
In the droplet test, we can clearly see that the screen isolates the droplets. From the light on the screen, I think the waterproof is good.
After the shower test, redmi note 8 can also slide pages and take photos normally, but what we didn't expect happened was that redmi note 8 turned off automatically and couldn't open it when the next test was about to take place.
From the video, you can see clearly that there are droplets in the headphone hole and the front-end camera is fogging. Let's take a look at its internal water intake.
After removing the mobile phone, there are water droplets in the chassis. The main water intake areas are headphone holes and vocal duct holes. It can be seen that the test paper of headphone holes has completely turned red.
The glass screen of Redmi Note 8, which fits tightly with the aluminium frame, is not waterproof. Don't try to put your Redmi Note 8 intake into the water because it is very easy to get into the water. Its waterproof level should be 3-4.

I slipped near a waterfall (lol), phone in pocket, I was in the water (5 feet depth) for about 7 seconds when i surfaced back out. The phone was ok for about 10 minutes, later the front/back cameras started fogging and camera app didn't open. Restarted but halfway through the restart, it switched off. I kept it near sunlight hoping it would dry. After 20 mins the phone bootup using the power button. The phone was alright except the cameras did not work immediately but took another 1 hour to recover. I was amazed that it had no problems after that. The phone call earpiece sounded low and muffled but worked normally after using many speaker test apps the next day. The normal speaker is surely waterproof and worked immediately. Just Amazing.
In short the phone is splashproof, and certainly not completely waterproof.
Redmi Note 8 is overall a superb budget all-rounder. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget overall solid smart phone (Comment By Water-dipped Redmi Note 8)

Xiaomi never claimed it to be water proof hence this test wasn't even required 🤷

Well, technically a water proof certificate can cost alot, cheaper phones even with proper high standard waterproofing may not always purchase the certificate, there is also the reason of people returning water damaged phones as that's impossible to detect ( that it was purely water damage from base phone, and not a crack that the USER did ), however this phone does infact have a ip52 rating, which means this phone won't be damaged in a 15° angle on water contact which gives it somewhat a degree of waterproofing
Extra facts: don't always believe the direct specs of phones, phones like the honor play's glass was alot stronger then phones like the Redmi's, eventho the honor play did not have a single gorilla glass protection certification, it's all about tests.
Xiami says it has p2i cotting for accidental splash

Stupid.. there is no waterproof smartphone.. only water resistant.... If waterproof phone was made it will last in water forever.

@@Mimi.the.legend Still the same opinion of the phone. The colors of the display are not AMOLED-vivid, but on the plus side, they are very realistic. You must set camera quality to HIGH in Settings and tweak the display a bit for its colors to become fully realistic. Downside- the 4k camera has no optical stabilization but has many features of much more expensive phones.
