    This is EXACTLY what I was looking for, dude you are the best. I always hated the black background or rather no background with the scans

    good to see content from you again! I've been using your reality capture tutorials and finally got a SteamVR home environment of my work office and I'm having a blast learning this stuff. Keep it up buddy!

    Can a 360 vr photo sphere also take a 3D photo of an object like a person to actually see them in 3D in the VR PS as well? Or no?

    I've lost count of how many people have told me that this is not possible! - So thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. I'm curious to know if the reverse is possible i.e. removing an item in a 360 image and replacing with a 3D object?

    your video is great and exactly what I've been looking for. but I ran into a problem when trying to flatten the bottom part of the bubble. I can only move the selected very bottom part of the bubble. I pressed the G button on the keyboard and moved it around the same as you. but then I am stuck, I'm not quite sure what you mean by the scroll button. I've tried the mouse scroll in the centre of the mouse and the scroll lock button on the keyboard and : none of this works or anything else that I've tried. any help any one would be much appreciated thank you.

    Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Myself I only do 360 spherical panoramas but not 3D models. I am interested on how the 3D bus station was made by itself before the merge with your drone panorama. In your video you assumed that it was done, could you share a hint how it was made? Thanks in advance.

    You added good tutorial. I try this technology but... But my sphere in blender has transparency only in solid mode. When i switch render preview (Sketchfab, Kroscloud too) sphere isnt transparency, i see outside.

    • @AzadBalabanian
      @AzadBalabanian  Год назад

      in Sketchfab, you have to go into the 3D editor, then into the materials tab, select the sphere material and mark it as "single sided". Otherwise, by default, the material is double-sided

    Nice! Wouldn't image be reversed because you flipped normals? Is that something you really need to do or is it for previewing? :)

    • @AzadBalabanian
      @AzadBalabanian  Год назад

      that makes sense. I have fixed the mirroring issue by scaling the sphere along the Z axis by -1

    Alright, so, this is probably a silly question. But, despite me making a living using professional software, I can not for the life of me find a good solution as to bring my scans in to vr. It seems like everyone just takes for granted that everyone else knows how to do this, meaning that no one explains it to people like me. So, what is the workflow from scan to product in vr?
    I simply need to create a scene and drag objects into said scene, but I can't find any software that does this simply. It should be noted that I need to do this without WiFi, meaning that it should be uploaded to my quest and bring with me to the bottom of the ocean if need be.

      @AzadBalabanian  2 года назад +1

      There likely are a few different apps that can import 3d models to view in VR but to be honest, there isn't just an industry standard way of creating VR worlds with photogrammetry scans apart from creating your own scene via Unity/Unreal Engine. I'm not a big fan of how Sketchfab looks in webVR either.

    • @whiskeythrottle9369
      @whiskeythrottle9369 2 года назад

      @@AzadBalabanian i tried sketchfab because of your videos and could rule it out straight away. Even with the enterprise level, the limit on data is way too low. But I guess I'll have to learn blender and unity to make this thing work. But, how strange is it that that coupling is soo tricky? I mean, it seems obvious to me that people would want to drag their bits and pieces into vr to have a good look. I'll keep looking and learn unity on the side.

    What do you use to stitch the scanned photos?

    • @AzadBalabanian
      @AzadBalabanian  Год назад

      it was done by the DJI app (capturing with the photosphere image option). It even fills in the nadir part of the sky which it cannot capture.
