When I first saw this at the age of 14, I laughed so hard at the absurdity. In my late 20s, I laughed hard at the satire. Now in my 50s, I dont know whether to laugh or cry at the reality of this.

I hadn’t watched this scene since I was a kid, and I completely missed that line when I was younger. Love it.
That bit with the machine that goes Bing has stayed in my head for decades. Forgot all of the rest of it but that phrase stayed.

I watched this movie many times as a teenager and in my 20s, and it was funny, and I quoted many lines out of it throughout my life. Now I'm watching it again, and it's even funnier. And I'm an anesthesiologist who has taken part in thousands of births and c-sections.
I can't imagine being an anesthesiologist and seeing this! It's too funny already as it is! It certainly has survived the test of time!

Lol, if my labour room looked like that I think I'd burst into tears. Also, I'm so glad they don't usually take your child nowadays (except for a few brief moments). At least they don't do it where I live. After the raging hormonal ride that is giving birth, how would you even stay calm during that?
She looked pretty panicky. For a Brit. When the doctors tell you "Do nothing! You're not qualified!" You lie back and shut up! Not much had changed, I'm aftraid!
If you’d had a C-section that’s exactly what your delivery room looks like. And after I kissed my baby I went straight to recovery for an hour and it was two hours until I held him. And it was fine. Too many moms acting like it’s the end of the world to not have your baby immediately.

I've never seen this film. It's got one of those prescient moments in it just like Life of Brian's "Loretta" sketch.
There's something just so heartwarming about this. Even at this late stage of their collaboration, the members of Python were able to come together and just go for it, aiming for and achieving a level of confident, over-the-top lunacy that fired on all cylinders.

I've loved this film since I first saw it when I was 12
....but this scene hits differently after recently suffering a miscarriage - the most traumatic part of which was all the doctors who behaved almost exactly like this! I'm laughing, bitterly.

I know it’s a movie but in reality they would’ve only had the medical staff to aid the lady while she was giving birth and the husband for support not the media and after the birth they would’ve got her legs out of the stirrups
