- The Protestant Reformation was sparked in 1517, when a German monk named Martin Luther, questioned the heavy handed unbiblical leadership of the Roman Catholic Church. This eventually led to the five clarifying statements of Protestantism known as the five “solas”. Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone). Sola Fide (Faith Alone). Sola Gratia (Grace Alone). Solo Christo (Christ Alone). Soli Deo Gloria (To the Glory of God Alone). These five declarations became the drumbeat of the reformation that has continued to this day. This week, as we continue our study in Romans, we deal directly with the doctrine of Sola Fide (Faith Alone). No work can save you. We are saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Join us as we unpack this essential doctrine of the Christian faith.
