I agree with Evermore-nufc; ffp/psr is there to protect the"big 6" and their rules are hindering newly financed clubs.such as ourselves and Aston Villa, from mounting a serious challenge for premiership honours.
Nothing new
I'd agree if Minteh was going to a top six club. Even Ratcliffe is moaning about PSR. I think everyone will end up feeling the squeeze. It should have brought down player salaries and transfer fees, but it has increased them. Crazy fee for someone so untested
The joke is we are selling a RM only to probably buy one this summer. Work that PSR conundrum out
I’m fuckin sick of this PSR shit. What’s the point in having wealthy owners. I’ve said this before but I don’t see how this can be legal tbh. I’m amazed that Man City or Chelsea haven’t challenged this in court but then again they spend what they want and sod the consequences
Why would they? Part of the cartel. City have broken 115 rules and nobody gives a fk, and chelsea clearly don't abide by the same rules as everyone else, since they're throwing £30m-£60m bids around like coke
patience my friend
Wouldn't be surprised if Brighton loaned back to newcastle or newcastle buy a Brighton player in July 😊
Sends wrong message to future signings. Hey, we think you great, come to Newcastle. Go out on loan, to another country, work your socks off to get to forst team! Just remember, we can sell you on for profit b4 you ever play for us. Doesn't sit right for me
OR, come to Newcastle and within a year be on at least 80k wk, wether you play for us or someone else, I guarantee the player, his agent, his family are happy as f66k, get over yourself
What you on about son definitely not a good look selling possible young top players and threatening to play him in the youth team if he doesn't piss off jesus
Yeah 100% agree with you, this feels like bad business.
We use PSR figures from 10 years ago. the age of this is showing now as there are a number if teams needing to sort their figures out - more than ever before. Its not just coincidence. Sucks we have to sell a prospect but it is what it is.
Mad how fans think Minteh was for our future, Dan Ashworth (as much as I dislike him) at Brighton he was brilliant at finding these young talented players on the cheap where they’d grow and develop over time to sell on for big money.. that’s exactly why we brought him to Newcastle and it’s all to do with FFP unfortunately, I believe Kuol was brought it to develop and be sold on too but he hasn’t quite had the impact that Minteh has yet🤞
Would loved to have seen Minteh in black &white
Rather see Isak and Gordon.
All 3, it shouldn't of came to this. The owners have themselves to blame, imo. Esp with Almiron, Longstaff etc, etc, still at the club !@@phil5357
No doubt you will. On a tick tock smashing goals in for Brighton 😂😂
I truly believe the Gordon news was meant to tell Minteh’s agent ‘we are prepared to sell someone else and park your player on the U21 team for the season’
If that makes you feel better thinking that then fine
pity it wasn't Miggy or Dubravka's agents they were impressing then !
@@kathchandler4919 nobody wants miggy or fumbles.
Miggy might go to Saudi but their transfer window yet to open.
I dont think selling Gordon would be bad ... 50m + Quansah (80m on PSR books with 60m profit). We already have Barnes and would be able to replace Gordon for Summerville for 30-40m.
I think Miggy refusing to go in Jan caused tgpe issue. I am suprised they go0 into this mess.
Miggy better come good next season or the fans will never be off his back , he may live to regret not moving !
Handked atrociously. We need a S.D, Yesterday. We can't have these doing this for future transfers after this shit show
£33m for potential is great business remember he hasn’t played in premier league yet which is a lot tougher than the Eridivise and it means we keep the likes of Gordon and isak 👍🏻
Exactly. Really don't get what all the kicking off is all about. And all the talk was that he was going out on loan again next season anyway
It is his potential and the fact that if it wasn't for PSR, we could have really brought him on. Personally I think he was one of the players I wanted to see in a black and white shirt that most. @@phil5357
Antony. All clubs. Even big dogs sell. This is a sign of progress. As City how they felt selling Alfie
@@toonarmy83 If Brighton are paying 33 million it's a fair sign they believe he will be a success in the PL they rarely recruit duds.
@@Johno731 we bought him a year ago for £7m and he hasn’t played a single game for us. It’s great business simple as that
I think Newcastle owner should just spend a billion on new players and say f*** it to PSR and the top 6 rules
And say to FA ..:. See you in court.
@@chubbygallasso yeah see you in court in 10 years like Man City 👍
the difference is unlike other clubs (we all know who) that spend billions upon billions, we will actually be punished for it
We won't be treated with kit gloves the way City has. The PL will come down hard on us since we are the true target of PSR
This is going to bite us on the arse you can just see it
I said exactly that on a different podcast
@@kathchandler4919 this is not a good look for the club we can’t manage a budget and we are told constantly we can’t spend money because of PSR but we’ve overspent just not good enough
I think if a team can prove their spending won't send the club into financial trouble/ administration then they shouldn't be punished, teams being forced to sell players probably at a lower value help who exactly.
I hate PSR. There better be a sell on fee included here…
plus a buy back deal , most important 😢
Means nothing. If the player doesn't want to come back. Why would he, after this farce !
From what I've read. There is not. Which I'm pretty bummed about actually.
@@robinskelton1565 rose tinted glasses, it is then
Hopefully this appeases the brown paper bags down south, until their new ruling that sales of Gambian players don't count towards FFP
This whole situation fking stinks to be honest. We've been backed into a corner, and whatever people scream at RUclips, we can only sell who someone else wants to buy. So.if it's minteh over isak, Gordon or bruno, I'll take that!
Totally agree mate!
spot on.

PSR forced our hand, it's just a shame we now have to watch him play for another team, Lyon would have been the ideal move for us. Hopefully a sell on clause and a buy back clause in the contract.
Means nothing ( buy back) if he doesn't, & frankly why would he after this shit show., want to come back. I'm sick of hearing people saying this. Buy back clauses are useless
@@AnthonyODOnnell-tt8gh Because We are forced to sell it's not we dont want him, if we get CL and brighton don't, he improves, a buy back clause will be great business.
@@Hazed_77 as ive said. Buy back clauses mean nothing, if the player doesn't want to come. After this shit show, why would he ! But to some its cracking business??
@@AnthonyODOnnell-tt8gh as I’ve said, why wouldn’t he if we are in Europe next year? It’s PSR doing this NOT the club.
We will live to regret this. What was the point in signing him ? Plus, we've sold him to a rival. In p.l. meanwhile, Almiron, Longstaff, etc, etc, sit their thinking their going to be firing next season. The owners have brought this on themselves, and now gordon will be off soon, as he knows hes not 100% wanted. Absolutely handked atrociously by, A, Stavenly, & hubby. I thought we weren't a selling club anymore ?? A BUY BACK CLAUSE MEANS NOTHING IF THE PLAYER DOESNT WANT TO COME BACK . Our own fans say it's a good bit of business. This is football. Not excell spreadsheets. They will live to regret that, you mark my word's. Im fuming about this !!!
O for god sake! A friend of mine lives in Holland and watched him alot last year. He said he has potential but gives the ball away alot and isnt ready for the Premiership!!:Remember Anthony at Man U was a star in Holland but has been found out over here! 33 million is good business for an unproven talent.
Another day another whine

Just like any other club.
Not any other club. Just the bottom 14 clubs.
£33m for this guy is a hell of a bit of business by the Toon.
Exactly. Appreciate all this talk that he MIGHT be the next mbappe (ok) but essentially we've made £26million profit on a player who's never played for us.
Just hope Gordon doesn't come back asking why we were touting him about like a hooker.
@@phil5357we weren’t
@phil5357 the owners have handled this atrociously. Selling this kid is a massive mistake, you mark my words
Unless he turns out to be fantastic at Brighton.
@@AnthonyODOnnell-tt8gh they’ve handled it tremendously well.
So, don't you think it's feasible that in an effort to massively boost our FFP/PSR standing and to increase our ability to spend large amounts of money on improving the squad, we should use a valuable asset to help take us to the next level? We have to learn that the value to NUFC of top players like Gordon, Isak & Bruno is not 100% dictated by what they do on the pitch under a long term contract. Is it also not possible that prior to "allegedly" offering Gordon to Liverpool the club may have asked young Gordon, (the Liverpudlian) whether he would be open to the possibility of moving to the club he has supported all of his life? Anyway, £33m for Minteh is decent business. Sorry for the unpopular opinion but what Roobenstein refers to as "worrying" is actually NUFC's plan to join the elite.
its a shame i was looking forward to mintah next season for us but 33 mill is good price
I'd of rarther took the points deduction than sell him tbh
That's smart thinking right there
prefer to move on a longstaff, wilson, miggy. but if noone interested or willing to do a deal at moment and must sell mow then selling minteh has to be the best move. hope 1st option buy back / sell on fee.
Is this a return to the Ashley days ?? Selling players like a knock down sale!!!!
Buddy we got him for around £8m so it's good business. But it's a shame we can't keep him. Looks promising
I think the club planned to not have this issue by selling miggy in January but Miggy didn't want to go...I personally believe that if a club sells you then you have to move, you can negotiate better/ different terms with the new club but the player can never be worst off..
Lol bruh you really cant mean that if the club wants to sell a player then the players has to leave, makes no sense they are under contract. This is on us as NUFC no one else than the owners are at fault. Not prf or ffp but our owners, yes the frp sucks ass but our owners knew these rules and amount we could spend since they came in. Stop making the club an victim...
@@misturmonson7423 not making the club a victim, in other sports the clubs control the asset (and yes players are assets) and are allow to trade them away and the player has little choice.. is a fair is a player only want to player at a specific club who has offered you say £20m for him but you have other offers on the table for £35m and £40m... Why should players have the control... That is the point I was trying to make
Epic deal for both clubs
Do you really think this how our club should be run on a buy now suffer later
Players become better when they are either injured or unavailable. I watched Minteh four times last season at the Feyenoord Stadium, he’s not ready for the premier league.
I echo another comment on here. There was a lot of fuss kicked up about minteh. Suddenly Gordon's name gets dropped in the mix and suddenly everyone's relieved it only minteh. Not as green as cabbage looking are the Newcastle board
💯 agree👍
They have handled this atrociously!!
@@AnthonyODOnnell-tt8gh would you rather sell Gordon?
Yes because he's watched minteh clips on youtube, so now knows with absolute certainty that he is the new mbappe
@@phil5357 I happen to think this kid will just be another average player good but not good enough.
No way Brighton are daft enough to add buy back and sell on clauses in this deal
Great podcast. Watched it as a Brighton fan. For what it is worth, I think you guys have been stiched up by the financial rules. I just hope the deal is fair to both clubs and look forward to seeing you next season, hope its a good one for you!
Love to see him line up with Ferguson. Ferguson being younger.
Hope that does not undermine Gordons confidence.
It has to. The owners have handled this atrociously bad
Yeah right when he has the potential to play for England . Talk about timing
Im not talking about this but if media is to be believed we wont have a team to support next year everyone is apparently for sale
31.5 mil profit and cleared. Happy as Larry tbf
Exactly mate. We've lost nothing other than 'well he might be really good'
@phil5357 totally. I watched 8 of his games last year, and I was quite happy with 31.5 mil profit. Is what it is. The Gordon name drop today may well teach some fans to just chill out and trust the club. I do 💯
We can’t buy players in January because of PSR the owners should be ashamed of themselves they need to tell the fans how much we were over and buy how much 33 million is a great price buy I hope they had the sense to put in a buy back or sell on clause
I feel like we're going to regret this transfer, i hope they put a buy back clause in the deal 🙈 why didn't we sell 1 of our 25 center midfielders 😅
I'll say it slowly, for those who clearly don't understand..
We. can't. sell. players. nobody. wants. to. buy
@@phil5357 we're selling Anderson to forest for 35 million
With regard to bringing forward sponsorships, the ones lined up could be worth far more if we wait than doing them now, there will be an overall plan and not just quick fixes
These owners really know what they're doing. They own PIF, lets not forget, every single move has been studied before they execute. Ill never worry about the decisions they make. So far every move is a tick
Ha, yep. They deal in million dollar deals. Millions.
Yet here we are. The youtube comments section. Where the true experts are.
@phil5357 more common sense. Wealth like that doesn't lie. Don't need to be an expert. They clearly kno what they're doing. I don't get the sarcasm.... As mentioned, every move they have made at nufc is a tick. In a few years time, you'll see every move they have made since the takeover will come to light
i hope there is a buy back clause in the deal
Brighton had our pants down, and they knew it. The only clauses will be whatever Brighton agreed to
@phil5357 aye I guess so they new we had to sell
33 million ain't bad, let's not forget even Antony looked good in the Dutch league
It’s sad about minteh but thirty three is worth it although watch him become a star in future
Let hope he flops😂
He'll be a 100 million pound player in, a few years. Brighton are the ones laughing
Robbo this isn’t funny how can we trust the club with the finances for the next three years hoping to sell players before they have even been contacted by buyers what’s stopping this happening again in three years time
he is unproven so i don't mind. We obviously needed to sell. We have kept all our top players which is good
Terrible decision, we are gonna sign a rw but we are selling a quality rw?
The problem we have is the FA/ Premier League want the likes of the big 6 to prosper, & unfortunately there's not many of our old gaurd players like Miggy other teams want.
We've more than quadrupled our investment while someone else paid his wages - that's very good business. A shame not to see him in a toon kit, but needs must.

Apparently no buy back. Also we will apparently need to sell 1 more player to hit our requirements
Gordon and isak was deffo a smokescreen to make someone come in and take Mintah for less than 40mil
The whole Gordon thing been used to make fans happier it wasn’t him when they wanted away with minteh. I hope they have included a buy back clause and a sell on clause. If they knew this why was some sponsorships sorted for training ground or training gear or stadium and we wouldn’t have been in this predicament
Take this what you will, but I was watching clip of the talksport guy Stefan borson and he was saying clubs are struggling now to get sponsorship for things like stadiums and wot not. Spurs are still looking for a ground sponsor but no one willing to pay the huge sums clubs demand anymore. I suppose every little helps like so even if they could have generated 5 million it's not to be sniffed at.
Well I hope that sorts the shit out and we can move on Please
I can't imagine how NUFC leadership were serious about moving Gordon imo. In other words I imagine this was a plan b should they not have been able to move Minteh. Very peculiar frankly if this was the plan b!
what about selling Lascelles, almiron, Longstaff, Wilson. so many shit players still at the club ffs
No one wants them 🤔
Here's an idea, maybe the club is trying, but other clubs are playing hardball, you do understand it takes 2 parties? Not like fm in real life mate
This isn’t a smoke screen Robbo it’s just bad money management
It's out of date fiscal rules on the part of the PL more like !
@@kathchandler4919 Tot agree it should be closer to 200 million with inflation but it hasn’t changed from day one

Gutted we are having to sell him. But rather him than one of our proven crown jewel players - Gordon, Guimares or Issac. The price is good and will allow us to buy well. I’m sure he will become an amazing player for Brighton and I wish him well.
its worn me out this rob bud
Take the fine and points deduction or take the premiere league to court
Marmadashvili £35 million (before Euros), Minteh £33 million ….Go figure
Must be some mismanagement somewhere along the line to have got to the point where we have to sell a promising young player to balance the books, shouldn't have wasted £40 million on Barnes and we would have been fine.
Can we sell longstaff Wilson and almiron next
I would off said 33mil plus a player as lyon was willing to pay 40 mil
