Just as I wanted to write anything further you mentioned the rivalry between the Stormers & the Bulls 🙄🤣. You know your stuff. Have a look at the smaller South African speedsters, when they tackle they leave the attacker almost instantly because the know the forwards will form a ruck and the can defend again in an instant. Their work rate on follow up tackles are insane.

Def a must watch he is the orignal scrumcap brigade putting giants to shame with them dancing feet. Like Cheslin he was also told he is to small to play for the springboks and that kept him out of the springboks for most of his career, Only got a couple caps at the end and he should have been as big as Cheslin today. Great Reaction-Vid as always really luv Ur Energy & Enthusiasm but just also wanted to point-out something the Try where Kurtley Arendse's momentum carries him over is a Try as if Ur momentum carries U over the Try-line it's always a Try.... However, if U Go over the Try-line without momentum when being tackled before the Try-line this is ruled as a double-movement on the ground + is not allowed so the Try will not be awarded in this case so basically Ur momentum needs to carry U over if tackled before the Try-line U cnt be trying to crawl over the Try-line when tackled before the Try-line!!!

    How does the Springboks and players like Cheslin or Kurt-lee compare to your football players and style of play. What are some similarities and differences and perhaps how do you see some if our players do in American Football?
    Thanks
    Bok supporter!

    • @QSNgg
      @QSNgg  17 дней назад +1

      Hey Sheldon!
      Both sports feature incredibly skilled and athletic players, but there are certainly some key differences worth highlighting.
      Rugby players like those on the Springboks squad tend to be extremely well-rounded athletes. They need a combination of strength, speed, endurance, and agility to excel in the non-stop, free-flowing nature of rugby. Players like Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Lee Arendse epitomize this with their ability to beat defenders with pace and footwork while also being physical enough to make big tackles on defense.
      American football players, while also supremely athletic, tend to be more specialized based on their position. For example, offensive and defensive linemen prioritize massive size and strength over speed and agility. Receivers and defensive backs need elite speed and agility. The stop-start nature of plays in American football allows for this specialization.
      That said, I could see an elite rugby back like Kolbe or Arendse translating well to a skill position like running back or receiver in the NFL. Their combination of quickness, agility, vision and physicality is perfect for making defenders miss in open space. Players like them show the incredible all-around athleticism required for rugby.
      The main differences would be the more structured play-calling and pre-snap motion of American football compared to rugby's continuous action. But I have no doubt South Africa's top rugby talent would find success in the NFL if given the opportunity to focus specifically on a position that maximizes their athletic strengths.
      Kolbe and Arendse will more than likely have to put on more weight to protect themselves from the physicality of the game of football as well. The hits come from every angle which differs from rugby and is more explosive in nature do to the short-burst style of football.
      No matter the sport, elite athletes like those on the Springboks are masters of body control, speed, power and competitive drive. While the games have distinct nuances, the highest level of athletic excellence translates incredibly well across football codes.
      I hope that makes sense. Let me know your thoughts and if you have any other questions. I'd be more than happy to talk more with you

Not sure if you know Naas Botha. He was one of the Springbok greats in the 80's. He left RSA and did a stint in NFL. He was a specialist kicker so guess that's why was there.
