Breaking down some uncertainties:
5:23 Ball is still in play until he touches the ball down on the ground to end play. If he did, it would have been a 22m/goal line drop-out/kick (Which is why he passed it forward immediately after) Same thing happens at 3:00
6:00 Defending player completely missed putting the ball down on the floor. Attacking player caught ball he missed and got a try.
9:22 Player kicks for touch instead of tapping and kicking out. One leads to a line out (even in red time) the other ends the game in red. They promptly lose the line-out and then the match because of the try.
12:07 Player got tackled without attempting to wrap AND after the whistle was blown.
12:50 Player quick tap and ran. Promptly lost the ball with a turn over instead of going for touch/goal kick in a tight game.
14:35 Player was warned by ref that he should kick out as quickly as possible and not delay the kick intentionally due to the time of the match (79:00) Player took too long and the ref blew a scrum against them due to that.
The one at 12:50 Leicester have always had a brilliant pack and scrum so to get that chance there was ideal for them to maybe even force a chance for a try or get the opposition down a player, which is why the front rowers were so annoyed as it took their chance to shine away!
Thanks for this incredible breakdown on everything that I missed! I really appreciate you. This is very helpful
That makes a lot of sense now thank you!
The end-zone used to be 12 meters minimum. Reduced it to 6 m minimum, so a rugby field could fit in the much bigger soccer stadiums...
What you mean by 'bigger' is the seating not the area of the playing surface.
Are there still any stadiums left with full 22 meter deep ingoals?
Murrayfield. Takes about 5 mins to run from the try line to the dead ball line
That’s cool, I have often noticed the size difference between the in goal area at grounds but didn’t know that was the reason.
Thanks for letting me know that. I was wondering what was going on there
At the 7:00 min mark. If you look at the clock its already into half time at 41min. Thats probably why the kicker kicked it straight into touch and why the ref had to explain to him that he can't do that to force half time and justice was served, the other team(Sharks) kept the ball in play and scored a try at 46 min into half time.
At 10:46 no it should be a 22 meter drop out as the attacking team carried it over the goal line and then stepped on the dead-ball line. If it was reversed and the defending team took it over the goal line and then stepped on the dead-ball line then yes it would have been a 5 meter scrum(attacking team's ball). Like what you see at 14:17 the player tries to tap the ball back into play then it rolls over the goal line and then out over the dead-ball line(5 meter scrum).
Thanks for breaking down the detail of what happened on all those Ruan. That makes a lot of sense now. I appreciate you!
Hey mate, loving the videos. Video suggestion which I think will get good views:
Jonny Wilkinson - definitely englands most famous, and probably our greatest ever, player.
You should watch his highlights and also (this is a bit different) check out a Guinness advert where French people talk about Jonny.
Context: Jonny played in France and the English and French have a certain love/hate relationship. The advert is really good because it takes A LOT for a Frenchman to speak so highly of an Englishman. You really get the sense of what a legend and a hero he was.
He was an unbelievable goal kicker who used to hold the record for most points scored in international rugby, despite spending a lot of time injured (he was a very brave tackler and often sacrificed his body for the benefit of the team).
Thanks so much for watching my videos and for all of your support Chris. It means a lot boss!
Jonny Wilkinson is 100% on my radar and I'm checking him out for sure. I appreciate the background on him as well.
That gives me a lot of incredible context going into the video.
I'll get that knocked out for you boss 🙌🏽
There was an occasion where great French back Dominici had crossed the goal line and went to put the ball down but hit his knee and the ball squiggled away.
I remember that, he looked so crestfallen afterwards
I'll have to check that out Ned. Hopefully I can find that video
@ 5:54 Look carefully: Red\black defender, went into scoring mode and forgot he had to catch the ball instead of touching it down....Then the attacker finished the job.
I see it now! Thanks for pointing that out. I was wondering
short dead ball zones are common with pitches that are used as both football and rugby pitches
Thanks for letting me know that. That was the first time I've seen that dead ball zone so small
At 14:34 the turnover was for time wasting.
The referee had already warned Australia earlier in the game that they need to get on with the game and stop running the clock down deliberately.
Thanks for the context on that. I was wondering what happened there. His team looked angry at him for that
match between UCL and DRA the guy in the red did not put the ball down so they got the try
Thanks for letting me know that
At 12:57. The forwards of leicester scrummed well to win a penalty and their scrumhalf took a quick tap and gave away a penalty immediately maki g all the hard work of the forwards for nothing hence their arms in the air in frustration.
Thanks for letting me know what happened there. That makes more sense now. I appreciate you!
The sonny bill Williams one where he deliberately slaps the high ball off the field is a funny one because SBW switched from rugby league to union. In league you are allowed to do that, so it’s likely he just didn’t know the rule was different between the two codes of rugby.
Of course he knew...he had been playing rugby for over 3yrs by then.
He just had a brain freeze in that moment nothing more. It happens.
Saying he didn't know is just ridiculous....lol
@@brucefale6132 but he had been playing league his whole life before that so it was more a natural reflex. Whether he knew it not isn’t my point, my point is really that his league background is why he did that.
Thanks for letting me know that and the differences between Union and League on that play. That makes a lot of sense now
@@giteausuperstar just last weekend in a super rugby game a player did exactly the same thing in the Crusaders v Brumbies game, John Kirwan did it in a Ranfurly Shield match against Canterbury and both these two players had played rugby their entire lives and I can give plenty more examples you donkey so don't give me your rubbish league excuse.
Players have brain explosions all the time that's why some penalties are given. Players know it's wrong but yet they do it it's instinctive human nature and if you've ever played rugby then you would know this.
hi QSN ur a really good utuber that explains and breaks don rugby really well. im from new zealand and i love watching ur content it makes me understand rugby more and it makes me laugh with ur reactions. keep up the work.
Hey Kaleb! I really appreciate you boss! Thanks so much for the love and checking out my videos. It means a lot to me. I'll have to get out to New Zealand sometime and see your beautiful country 🇳🇿❤️
@12:50 it was a close game, late into the game and the front row have just worked really hard to win a penalty- which could have got them points or even better field position but he tapped quickly and conceded a turnover
Thanks for the context on that David! That makes more sense now. I appreciate you 🙌🏽
When there is open play, there is no offside line. A ruck, line out or scrum sets the offside line
No offside line, but "a player is offside in open play if that player is in front of a team-mate who is carrying the ball or who last played it".
@@vermeervanbremen3306 yes, unless an opposition player played the ball
Thanks for letting me know that
Ball behind the tryline is in play if it is not dotted down by either the attacker or defender
That makes a lot of sense now. Thank you!
in league u could slap the ball out in the goal area if ur defender. sbw thought he could do it in union maybe
Thanks for letting me know the difference in laws between the codes. That makes sense. I know he played league for a long time and reflex probably took over
Hi great video.
i like to talke about the last part who came with a big cutural differance and a back clash. The ref is french and in french we are use to penalise when you let the clock tiking too much (the law existe but it is vague..) but not realy in south hemispere. So the australian presse go on the ref and criticise too much as if he hade been paide to fool them. It was realy violant.
Thanks so much for the context about that situation. That's a heartbreaking end to the game with the clock running out. That would be a very tough loss to get through
Love these
Massive love! I appreciate you!
You have to check out Jason Robinson.
Jason Robinson is on my list for sure!
You should react to school boy rugby in South Africa!!
I have an SA Schoolboy video coming out soon 🙌🏽
@@QSNgg thanks 💪🏻
This guy is so lost 😂
To be fair, I’ve been watching him since he first discovered rugby which was only a few months ago. His understanding of the game is actually exceptional for someone who has A) never played and B) only been watching for a short time. Tbh some of the laws are pretty hard to grasp. My dad watched me play for 20 years and I always have to clarify things for him when we watch rugby on TV.
@@giteausuperstar fair enough 👌🏽
I was on some of those for sure 🤣
I appreciate you boss! ❤️
React to my highlights, in an u20 year old player in Sydney, from England
I'll def check out your highlights Morgan! Incredible 130kg bench too 💪🏽
@@QSNgghaha that was a few years ago now bro, content is quality mate keep going👍
Jo hello can you respond please
Hey how are you!
first one
Good on you!
Well done mate
ayeeee!
Tripping somebody isnt dangerous its just cynical and unnecessary. I've never aeen it cause an injury.
That makes sense. I've see some gruesome leg injuries from trips that's why I say that
