- Shiprocked 2014 - Lajon of Sevendust met a girl who was a sign language interpreter. She said for one of her classes or projects she did Sevendust -Face to Face. The depth of how amazing Shiprocked is (you better go!), and how friendly Sevendust is, they brought her up on stage to do the song with them. Sorry I'm missing the intro :-/
That is one extremely talented sign language interpreter-my niece, Kelly Skeuse!
You go, woman!
Just ran across this.....so rad. Hope she's still doing this
@StewBedazzle Thanks. I think she's pretty awesome myself.
That's awesome. She needs her own RUclips channel where she rocks out like this. I'm sure several bands would be more than accommodating.
Another reason why Lajon is the man. He shows such mad respect to people.
I met him, and the rest of the band at rock fest. Great guy
Well, I can officially say sign language has given me chills. This lady NAILED the rap. I wasn't expecting that. She was awesome!
Integrity is not dead in the music world, bands take heed!

Where's the vocals coming from when no one is singing though?
Morgan, the drummer, who you couldn't see cause they were focused on the girl
Yeah, Clint and John along w Morgan are heavy on the backing vocals.
Yes I know this. But It sounded like a track playing
Cool video though
I've seen sevendust live a million times I know I've never seen them use a backing track
If a Deaf person can't hear the music, what is the point of an interpreter? Wouldn't they not hear the guitar/bass/drums anyway? Not trolling just trying to get an understanding on the point of interpreters at concerts.
Well, most obviously, deaf people can understand the lyrics when there is a good translator. Deaf people (like many hearing people) often enjoy music by feeling all of the the various kinds and levels of vibrations and moving in response, often along with other people also moving in response to the same vibrations, whether heard or felt or both. If you think about concerts these days, a huge portion of the experience for sighted people (whether deaf or hearing) is visual. A great interpreter, like this one, also conveys a lot of the feeling, tone, dynamics, etc., of the music in her facial expressions, gesture sizes (bigger = louder, to take one of the simplest aspects at a very basic level), ways of moving (smooth vs staccato, joyful vs sad vs sexy vs raging vs ..., etc.). And of course there are myriad social aspects to going to a concert with people who share some of one's tastes and feelings.
Given how much other noise there often is and how much better one can hear the music at home with current technology, I imagine that very few people of any kind are at metal / hip hop / rock / pop / dance music / etc. concerts primarily to hear the music. And a sign-reading person who can see the interpreter clearly (on a screen or on stage) is likely to be get the lyrics better at many concerts than someone who can only hear them, especially with an interpreter this good!
Stole the show
It's like taking a blind person to a nascar race.. what's the fuckin point
bet he tapped that after the show.....
Amazing!
Get it Kelly!!
