My maternal grandfather was originally from Mezzojuso. He came to the US when he was a teenager (after WWII). I'm probably related to most of the people living in the town. I'd love to see the town for myself!
Thank you for this wonderful video. The J in Mezzojuso is not easy to pronounce, it's like saying "mezzo you so" I come from this little town, moved to the USA at 7 years old. I so much miss this town. You have inspired me to go visit. One big thing this town is well known for is "Il Mastro di Campo" during Carnevale.
Grazie mille for your donation! We heard many different pronunciations of this town and yes "mezzo you so" as well . We will check out the Bar you mentioned as well.
check out Bar Gesualda via Facebook. I come from this small town, it's beautiful. I was Baptized in the Byzantine rite. I try to explain this to my friends and coworkers that this little town has the Latin as well as the Greek rite church. Best time to visit is in February for Carnevale or during Easter season for the processions.
@@francescaviolante1164 thank you so much for your donation to our GoFundMe! We loved this town and hope to return to see either Carnivale or Easter. GRAZIE MILLE !

The Normans started coming to the island and fighting the Saracens beginning in 1060 ! One of the most significant battles in the fight for the island happened in Cerami. Here is episode we did on the town: ruclips.net/video/VSlvVIdf6aU/видео.html
Hello. Thank you for this video! I am visiting Palermo right now and am trying to find a tour guide for Mezzojuso. My father's family is from here, and I'd like to talk to locals when I drive up there. No one still alive in my family has been. I speak very little Italian and need a translator. Does anyone know of a guide who would show us around here?
