Unlike Lazarus - Big Mal's second coming didn't work. Still, he's remembered with great affection by all who lived through the halcyon days of Mercer-Allison....when we swept all aside with attacking football - an era those who were there will never forget.
I am also a DCFC supporter, I find this documentary fascinating. Big Mal was a brilliant character, such an intriguing bloke. Characters like Allison and Clough Snr are sorely missed in football. Although Allison's seond spell at City was turmoil, the sense he talked about the game was spot on most of the time. (City are my second team). Big Mal would be chuffed to see City where they are now, great club (as are DCFC!). Up the Rams, Up the Blues.
