You know what it sounds strange but I'm glad still has the same sound when it slows down and speeds up as the old ones did

That's funny, we were just talking about that at my job. I find the whiiiiiiir noise that BART trains to be a sound of "home" when I'm traveling... it's like "ahhhh, back in the Bay." I'm glad they make the same noise, too!

*_•reshirm•_* What he means is they make a similar sound to the old cars so it’s not too much of a change

New train went into revenue service today (January 19) on Richmond/Warm Springs line. Initially will be used outside rush hours M-F and all day on weekends.

Looks like riders can look out of the front or back of the new trains.

These sound similar to LA's Breda A650's and D.Cs retired 1000 series.

They sound like the R110B subway cars in NYC

I know this is an evolution of the train design, but I miss the original A cars.

This is strange. Shouldn't the new trains, being 40 years newer, have a completely different sound to its propulsion system? IGBTs were not a thing in the 1970s. Why do they sound so similar to the old trains?
EDIT: They're not that similar upon watching other videos--IGBTs have a much sharper grating sound. Still, the closeness in pitch is surprising.

Ugly shape, plus strange it's no boa.
