Penang War Museum

The Penang War Museum is on the actual battleground where the locals fought and lost to the invading Japanese army in 1941. It was turned into a prison camp that saw many atrocities, torture and deaths. We were not expecting to be able to climb and crawl through the old war tunnels, visit the old barracks, guns and munition stores. It was very eerie and a little confronting at times but the preservation is truly remarkable and worth a visit.

Kami adalah Mike dan Serina. Kami suka perjalanan, pengembaraan dan kecergasan. Salah satu pengembaraan kami yang paling berkesan ialah mendaki #MtKinabalu di Sabah, Malaysia. Walaupun terdapat sekatan perjalanan, kami telah memutuskan untuk melakukan pengembaraan #jalan kaki setempat, meneroka apa yang ditawarkan Perth dan Australia Barat. Yes the public can go in the tunnels, one of the first rooms has a sign saying crawl through tunnel to reach surface 😀

That looked really dangerous, that ladder must be pretty old. The place is a reminder of how horrible the war was.

Yeah there were times when you could just feel how bad things were there. War is never good I agree. Surprisingly the ladder was good and sturdy, maybe it was replaced or it was just good craftmanship.

I don't know why they put it there, but it was sooooo scary I thought it was a hantu and nearly had a heart attack 😅 But despite this, kita nak pergi dalam malam sebab kita suka cari hantu 👻👻
