This track really captures the precarious nature of this level. Unlike Final Haunt, the battle is far from decidedly in your favor, and your being on their turf, completely unaware of the alien weaponry and soldiers they’ve held off from using until now means your just one surprise attack from death
The way I see it, Black Comet is GUN's final desperate push to end the war. They're losing on the ground, so they take a huge risk in sending most of their forces for a surprise attack on the enemy HQ. If they lose this one, it's over. In contrast, when Final Haunt happens, the war is pretty much won. The aliens were all but driven back to the comet, and Sonic is sent by himself to end this, only coming across Shadow by chance. Since they're the only ones up there, it's even more chill because of the lack of potential human casualties.
TheSpooky8th SoulSayian I did. I'm not exactly sure what those zones have had to do with each other.
