Monte’s explanation of how to shallow the club with wrist action vs shoulder tilt, along with your ability to quickly assimilate that made this one of the most helpful videos I’ve seen. Also, his advice to tee the ball lower was a breath of fresh air. It matches up with the shallow angle of attack he seeks with the wrist action. Kudos to you both!
Would Monte's comment about linking the arms and the body be about letting the arms come downwards a little at the top before turning everything? If so, the Athletic Motion guys talk about this a lot. Great to see Monte again!
brendon, you should do a video with your brother as you said previously that your brother's golf swing is over the top. Recently I have heard during a golf tournament that Nick Faldo mention some players on tour have over the top swings that includes B Keopka. Are we missing something here....
I'm curious about the driver as well. I play the 785, but wondering if there isn't more ball speed with something else. Seems like those center strikes should have hit 170.
Everybody thinks that smash factor is just about hitting the center of the face. It's obviously that, but it's also having the club stably placed in your hands when it makes contact.
@Lee Distance is overrated. It's all wedges from 100-120 for me to break par. I think the key is keeping it in play 99 percent of the time (where you can advance it) hitting it somewhere on the green with 7-4 irons, sticking it within 10 feet inside 120 yds, getting up and down 65-70 percent (not short-siding yourself) and shooting 67 really isn't that hard. It's nothing to do with ball speed, distance or anything of the like. I played a 69 year old who shot 65 before my eyes. He's a plus 4 and shoots his age every day. He's so good it's ridiculous, his tee ball only goes 230-240. Too bad he's not native, I'd play him more often. Distance is useful, to a degree. But I can play the tips on most courses and shoot 73, around course rating, and my max is 250 yards off the tee with my fade. Goes to prove it's consistency, and not necessarily length.
I CANNOT WITH MONTE!!! Offers online lessons for $25 and the video he sends back is 2-4 mins. I enjoy be better golf but there’s no way to increase ball speed with Brendon’s swing. The club is just way too far out of position

Everything Monte teaches just makes sense.... dude's a gem! Keep up those gains Brendon!
Great to see Monte again !!
The ”over the top” thought really helped me hit some of my best iron shots for a long time. Thanks Monte😊
I love Monte videos. Thank you very informative.
Monte is so great! I love this, "EHH, it's golf, sometimes the ball goes left!"
This is a great session, makes me rethink what I am doing
YES!!! Monte is back baby! that wrist movement thing feels great!! im going to rip it this weekend. thanks monte
Monte “I don’t know how to spell it either” LOL! He’s such a straight up genuine person, gotta love it!
Loving seeing Monty back !

Opps, just watched the video and it was the opposite, sorry.
This was a great video guys!
I have the same swing fault that you have. But I’m not half the golfer you are lol. Loving the videos with Monte.
Monte is a cool presence on these.
Tee height would be better if you used castle tees - at least then we could have exact comparisons to work with.
Great point. I should switch to those

Brendon...you're problem is the same as mine. How do you fix this? Do you just try to feel what Monte says? Or is there another feeling you try?

5:50- monte says tee it lower as his preference. Hit up 1-2deg not 4ish to get more centered hit.
Brendon can you do the corrected swing at a slower speed so we can see more clearly what you have changed in the downswing
Very helpful gentlemen! What app is Monte using on his tablet? Thanks. Ian. Inverness Scotland
Flightscope it’s hardware and and app
great tips from Monte....true teacher of the golf swing
The subject came up about when bowing the left wrist you lose lag and seems like a cast and it never was addressed. I too experience this

Some great advice in here. Thanks.
4:03 improving the swing is key
Monte or mike...
If you had to choose one to learn from who would it be?
"It's golf. Sometimes the ball goes left"
It’s refreshing when a coach acknowledges that genetics do matter!
whats brendons handicap now?
Should be fairly low. Low single digits for sure, especially from all the knowledge he gained from all those well known instructors.
Go get em Monty
I’d love to have 155
You forgot your tour tempo training!!
If you ever get a chance you should really check out Larry Chung golf he would be perfect for you
Drive for show , putt for dough
Think you need a new driver could have a small crack. Your ball speed should be 170 or more.
Best golfers in the world are the longest

He's not going to get much faster. His smash factor was 1.49 on the one which we saw his numbers.
