Last year when i experienced many difficulties with my research proposal and I was so confused and hopeless for my phd preparation journey I started watching your videos and you gave me the strength to keep on going and believe more in myself! Today I received the email from my Uni saying that I was admitted to my dream Phd program and I immediately remeber you and your inspirational words! I am so proud of you. You encourage us so much. I am finishing my MS in clinical mental health counseling and applying to a PsyD program in Atlanta, GA. I have been determining how to do this for 5 years, but I want it badly. I need these videos to see that I am not alone and that we will make it!

Vee! PhD is very prestigious independent of uni and discipline. I have been doing PhD for five years now (part time) and know what is involved. Please STOP referring to PhD as a low level degree. Please STOP saying ''I am going to school''!! I can only imagine how my supervisors would react if I say I am going to school! What you are saying is offensive.
She's definitely not trying to be offensive haha. Sometimes it just depends on culture and region, in the US they tend to call it "school" when referring to any academic institution regardless of how high/prestigious the education is.

I don’t believe she means any harm. I noticed she also said she went from undergrad to a PhD program, which isn’t necessarily true either. She went to Harvard for graduate school. I’m currently in a MSW graduate program and know that graduate school isn’t undergrad, but again, I don’t take offense to it.
