Such superb musicians, This is the real Journey! Had the jazz/fusion they started with in Santana. Pop goes the band after 3rd album. Can't blame them, never would have been Icons of the industry playing this style, but what a treasure while it lasted!!!

I think it is time for Gregg and Neal to rejoin Santana on a continual basis, and end the Journey experience. Have seen them with Santana a couple of times in the last couple of years, and it was magical. Santana seems to still really appreciate their talent level and lets them just flow together.
Todd Stevens ...I want them to tour soooo bad, I'm 48 and didn't get a chance to see Santana back then, LOL. They only need to play the first 3 albums but I need to hear "Europa" live and even though it's not the original line up doing that song they would nail it!!
record company send ultimatum to journey : or sell records or end of the line and play on bars , is very difficult neal schon say : i don´t like much this style (escape era and arrival ) , but i have to pay the bills .
voici peut-être le plus beau morceau de Jazz-Rock fusion de tous les temps. Avec un solo exceptionnelle à la fin de Neal Schon qui me fait vraiment penser à la fin des solos de Robin Trower dans ses premiers albums.

I'm not sure, but I think possibly Paris 12/6/76. I as well had experienced early progressive jazz rock JOURNEY. Four of my all time favorite shows were between 1975 and 77 starting with them opening for Blue Oyster Cult on Cape Cod. I have never been more impressed in my life! Their music was stunning enchantment. Blistering glory. Violent artfulness and majestic white hot skilled magnificence. The Best, heaviest, intense hard rock band I had ever caught live on stage, hands down!
Think Journey Steve Perry era like Yes Trevor Rabin era : pre Steve Perry more audacious, Steve Perry era more song oriented. I prefer instrumentals era but don’t dislike Steve Perry Eclipse / Frontiers albums. But men, what an instrumental beast was before Steve Perry joined, the first Journey album is a complete joy to listen to ...
Schon is one of the best guitarist of all time !! 👍
Aynsley Dunbar was killer on it, if only a live release of the entire concert could be available ...
always killing it, seen em with Aynsley 8x

As killer and uncompromising as their sound was, they wouldn’t have lasted - unless they were all okay with not making much money.
They still had the Santana sound in them for the debut.

George Tickner wrote this song.
Cool. His lyrics are great!
RIP. I love how CBS Sunday Morning decided to honor him by playing the first few seconds of this song.

Shows how great and talented they really were. Before steve perry joined and turned them into poppy mainstream music.

They were already leaning towards the pop sound with Robert Fleischman. Steve just solidified it for them.
