@@meliasnahtony2951 I picked up STC-02 Tyrant over 2 months ago and I'm still in awe of its design. The super tank mode and the hyper armour mode are sights to behold.
@@meliasnahtony2951 The design is fantastic, but the coloring is wrong for the crossover. After they released STC-01 in OG Optimus colors first, then released in green camo to match his GI Joe crossover look, it was greatly suspected we'd get STC-02 in Destro colors for the crossover, but as with many past instances, it seems Megatron, and villains in general, don't sell nearly as well, and they continued to pump out repaints and tweaks of the STC-01 mold, and have not touched STC-02 since.
@adamluther5836 I think you're right, as I've not even seen a reissue for STC-02 Tyrant, let alone a repaint, whereas STC-01T Dark Saviour already has a Nova Prime repaint confirmed and it might be released in late 2025. Even though it was released in 2022, I was still able to get hold of a copy in 2024 because of how much stock was left over from the original release.
I got the Megatron figure a few months back and it's really solid, but it's missing an arch enemy. I don't think that Optimus Prime figure is available anymore, but thankfully the Nuclear Blast versions are scheduled to be reissued this year. I've got the Ice Wolf repaint on pre-order and I'm looking forward to it whenever it's ready to be shipped.

@Ashuri_Vodka Oh haha lol, I get what you mean! The way I see it, this Megs got tired of seeing OP get super mode after super mode (in the various cartoons, like the UT), and he finally decided to try one out for himself, but as you can see he took it a step too far. 😂
The Optimus Prime figure isn't, as I wouldn't really count the 2 alt mode variations as being two distinct alt modes. For the Megatron figure there are technically 3 alt modes, although I would only count the 2 tank mode variations as one and the helicopter mode as another; so it would still be a triple changer.
man that Megatron is a mess, it looks cool but his alt modes are ugly and the excessive partsforming doesn't help at all. that explains why Prime is still being reissued and repainted and Megatron was left alone.
I had the same reservation until I got this figure in person and transformed him back and forth between the different alt modes. The amount of partsforming on this figure is certainly a contentious topic, but I don't see how the Optimus Prime figures are any different. Btw, the Optimus Prime figures being reissued many times in different repaints and retools doesn't necessarily mean that this Megatron is a failure, as we're talking about the most popular Transformers character here, of course his toys will sell really better than his arch nemesis.
@@StardustLegacyFighter Let me preface this by saying im only expressing my opinion and if you like the figure that's fine. It's true both get bigger legs, arms, crotch, and backpack (missiles for prime, flying whatever thing for megatron) but megatron also gets 4 pieces that just make the back of his legs and backpack even bigger than they need to be so he was given pieces to make his thighs bigger too to compensate, and that fusion canon doesn't look like it stays together very well either in any picture or video i've seen of this figure. I think Megatron "fails" to me and others because prime atleast had a precedent for a super mode so there was a an idea on how to do it good enough while Megatron was compromised by trying to be a triple changer with simple engineering (simple by 3rd party MP standards at least I guess). if he was sold just as the base figure or with just a focus on the tank alt mode i might've purchased it tbh.
@Ashuri_Vodka That's completely fine, as I do understand and respect your perspective. But I felt that I needed to detail my own experience as, at one point, I was not a fan of this figure at all. However, I decided to be a lot less critical and open-minded, as this type of figure is not a typical MP scale from a brand like FT or MMC, therefore I didn't really have any qualms about the oversimplified engineering and the use of partsforming. Anyways, I've got a pre-order all set for the Ice Wolf repaint and retool of the Optimus Prime figure shown in this video, and I'm looking forward to displaying it alongside his arch enemy.
