As a crocheter, I thought I'd never be able to knit... Having the yarn in the right hand just felt so wrong. Thanks for showing that it's ok to be lefty! Fantastic videos, you have saved my knitting life!
Love your videos! I'm a crocheter, too, and was about to give up on trying to learn to knit until I watched your demonstration. You de-mystified the difference between knitted and purl stitches, and helped me to see that I was executing the purl stitch wrong, which inverted my stitches. Thanks so much for giving me the confidence to pick up my knitting needles again (and try holding the yarn in my left hand!) and give knitting another try.
You are adorable. Thank you for the fabulously helpful lessons. Oddly enough I am hsving to learn again as through surgery and,a lack of oxygen I lost some of my long term memory. Your videos are so upbeat and positive, you are truly a blessing to me.
I'm up hiding away in the mountains this week and decided to learn to knit. I think I have watched every one of your videos becuase you take a very boring topic (watching someone knit rows is like watching paint dry) but you make it so FUN and not boring and I so appreciate you. I've watched a few other knitters videos and almost fell asleep. Your instruction is so easy to follow and your personality shines through every video and sometimes I even laugh out loud. Thank you so much!! I have made my first scarf which is coming in handy on this snowy mountain day. Keep them coming!!! Love your videos!!!
Hi Chandi, I'm loving your videos. I learned to knit & crochet in the late 90's. I've been away from it for the past 5 or so years. Watching your videos makes refreshing my memory easy and a lot of fun. Keep up the great work!
You’re such a good teacher. I just learned what a knit looks like and what the purl looks like. I was so confused about that. Learned to knit with you. Thank you.
Your videos are so helpful! I went from knowing NOTHING about knitting to knitting a simple scarf thanks to your videos :). Please post more beginner videos!
My husband has been listening to me chant, "knit the knits and purl the purls!" for the last two evenings. I'm still a beginner and this video was the first to explain ribbing in a way that I actually understand what it is I'm supposed to do! Thank you!
This ia the most aesthetically pleasing channel for knitting. Camera quality is amazinggg you are so funny and adorable. Im learning so much cant wait to buy some yarn
I have always struggle with this one! Thank you so much for you it tutorial! I watched your video like six times, mostly Because you're goofy and I love it! Your voice is so soothing. I'm guilty of having you in the background while I do house cleaning 😂 after that it's a good deserving knitting lesson with my fav gal!
I love how I initially thought you were super cheesy with your little "knit the knit, purl the purl" song but now I'll remember that forever because I'll never get it out of my head. Just like "righty tighty, lefty loosey". Smart woman. ♥
I just love you!! Your my favorite source for all things knitting and crochet!! I am totally self taught on everything and everytime I get stumped on something or am just looking for something new I always find what I'm looking for with you!! You really do inspire me and maybe one day I can get it together like you... one day lol!!
This is absolutely perfect !! I really like how you save time and energy by holding your wool with your left hand and just sort of scoop it up with your working needle.. I'm a beginner.......is it that obvious?? ;)
You wacky girl😋. I have to say that tutorial was much easier to see with the plain background and contrasting yarn.thax so much. I am still working on the continental knitting. I won't give up until I get it.love your channel.from Milwaukee WI.💖
For those wondering, the pattern is STILL free. Follow the directions. Use the code she mentions that can be found in the video description. On that note... What cast on did you use for the hat? It is not mentioned in the written pattern. It looks like standard long tail, but wanted to make sure. Thanks! 🤗
I am a Knitter and learning how to crochet! Really bummed out that I cannot create a granny square... been learning since thestart of last year and still cannot create one! You are brilliant at Crochet and Knitting! Xx
Emo_demon Awe! i was the other way around- i learned crochet first and now im trying to learn knitting. It gets easier. one day I bet it will just click for you and you will get it!! don't give up! :) this channel is wonderful, I've learned so much from her. if you haven't already, you could check out bellacoco, naztazia, or Melanie ham. They were huge a huge help to me learning crochet. 💜
Loved this.... Thank you soooooo much for making it easy. I keep getting distracted n confused by other knitting videos and again come back to your channel for help.... and you never disappoint!!! Saviourrrr!! 👍
Chandi, beginner everything here. 2 questions.1) I have a large head. My son's is even bigger. No hat ever fits me. They usually slide right off. So for that, how many do I knit? The same 20 or 24 or more? 2) How do you connect the ribbing to the hat? In your tutorial, you knit the ribbing flat. But in the hat tutorial its round. Also, in the hat you mentioned, knit 2 all the way around. Does that mean, (laymans term now) knit 2, knit 2, knit 2 all the way around ? Or knit only 2 together, then knit, purl, knit, purl, knit, purl? Am I reducing fast or slow? Sorry, that's 3 questions. But I'm just a beginner. Thx in advance.
People's stitches vary. So I say measure the circumference of the head and take two inches off. Then use however many stitches it takes to make that length. The ribbing is a part of the pattern. which you can find on my site. www.expressionfiberarts.com. It means knit two together all the way around. : )
Chandi, I know you've said before that you hold your yarn like a crocheter. I am a crocheter learning to knit. I would love a tutorial on how to hold and tension the yarn the way to do. It looks sooooo MUCH easier than what I'm struggling with now. If you already have one could you point me in the right direction please?
I love how you take out the time to patiently show us how to knit or crochet and do it slowly at first so we could catch on to what you are doing. I will be looking for how to make socks, do you have that on youtube?
In your first videos you used to knit English method, I noticed that now you are using continental method, why ? What is according to you the best method??
Just sub'd. Wow... so I see live and in person the "Continental' method I only read about last night with a creepy still pic/drawing! I hope I'm new enough to swich to it. Looks waaaay more 'efficient' than all my yarn throwing over the needle!! :) THANKS.. ok.. back to ribbing. :)
Love your tutorials as always. I'd like to request a cable knitting tutorial. Thank you and I am SO getting a Dewy DK yarn for own b-day this year LOL.
I clicked the link for the free hat pattern and it wasn't free. :( perhaps I found the wrong hat? also, I learned to knit a beanie from another of your videos and will post a photo for you in Facebook. :)
Where are you located? Do you do knit alongs? I would like to be shown how tok weave in ends in other stitches than garter. everyoubed shows garter. Lace it seems you just go wing it go wherever you can with no rhyme or reason. But how about something like linen stitche or bamboo? Or even stockinnette!
Hi Trudy, We are located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Thanks for the great video suggestions! We do have knit alongs frequently. If you join our Ravelry forum you can certainly be a part of it. Here is the link: www.ravelry.com/groups/expression-fiber-arts

+porter malone ....I got the pattern....when it came to the credit card info, I left it blank (I did put my email in....that's how you'll receive it as a download). Continue with the check out....poof! free pattern!
ExpressionFiberArts I haven’t been knitting that long, and I’m sure you probably have already heard that 100 times. 😆 I really appreciate your videos, they are so helpful.
I'm just starting to knit and found your tutorials. I gotta say, you are adorable! Personable, fun, and interesting. As a bonus, I learn something every time. Thanks from this beginner!

So the stitches on the needle that are wearing V-neck collars should be knitted, and the stitches wearing pearl necklaces should be purled!
You should teach us how to do the ribbing in crochet too!
+SecretFiri Great suggestion! Definitely on the list!
Super tutorial. Great idea.
I'll thank you now 🙄 . Just successfully casted off ! Hugs 😘
Your amazing.thanks for taking your time and explaining slowly. People talk too fast . Sounds Italian 😆
